I purchased a maytag neptune several years ago. I have had nothing but
problems. When the repair man came to repair it he said I had just missed
the time frame for the lawsuit against Maytag. Well in fact I had not. But by
the time I found this out, then it was to late. I had always wanted a
Maytag because of the dependability, but I will never buy another one. They
had to replace the motor in it last year. Thank goodness it was still under
warranty. Now the door lock will not work, so therefore it cannot spin. I am
not sure if it is worth the salvage or not. Problem is right now I cannot
afford to go out and purchase another washer and dryer.

I have a very expensive washer and dryer that I bought at sears and I've had nothing but trouble with them both. Not ony that but, the repair warranty they offer is a joke. They take FOREVER to get you an appointment ( and I'm talking 8 to 12 days) and then if they have to order a part it's another 10 days waiting for an appointment AFTER you get the part. Well in my case all that plus when the part got to my house it was broken into many pieces because it was a ceramic ignitor and the boneheads ( who are supposed to be experts) in the wherehouse sent the box through the mail without packing the box with bubble tape or wrapping the part to protect it. Then when I called a supervisor she told me she couldn't do anything about it, but my complaint was noted. That was after I was on hold for 25 min. then hung up and called back and held for another 12 min.. I've had the dryer replaced once and fixed 3 times, and the washer fixed 4 times. After spending $2700.00 on the set I've spent 380.00 dollars including this latest break down at the laundry mat. Sears is pathetic and they really don't give a rat's a@#$ about the consumer because they don't have to! I'll never buy anything there again.
