Won't stop calling
I made the mistake of applying online for their "free listing" that would have costed about $600.00 - which they only tell you after a long lengthly interview where one presumes they are writing a very flattering and in-depth resume. I politely declined, but now they keep calling early (for me) in the morning, waking me up, and with the same canned speech try the same old sale. I'm not polite anymore. I asked to speak with a supervisor and he claimed to be one then jumped right back to his script. I yelled, hung up, and am now going to do as much as I can to stop them online. Can anyone help me?

unauthorized bank withdrawal
Company emailed me to congratulate me on my selection to its 2008 "honors book". They wanted +$900 for this privilege (which would include a free RT airfare ticket to selected desinations). Wanting to network, I bargained the deal down to about $200 for 2-year membership. Several months later, I received a call from the "managing editor" who continued to flatter my background and ended with saying that I had now paid the balance due of +$440! I said we had no agreement to do that, so he replied that the funds had already cleared my account and hung up. I then reported this as bank fraud, immediately emailed Madison and told them to replace the funds into my account immediately. Met with bank rep to close that account and reopen another. Because it was fraud, the bank credited my account with that +$440 and said the fraud dept would take it from there.
What a cheesy, sleezy scam.

unauthorized credit card charges
A few months ago, I got a phone call from a representative of Madison who's who saying that I am elected as a member of the year. I was foolish enough that it is a flattering experience, and I paid more than $600 for 5 year membership. The representative said that I just simply pay additional $200 or so to become a life-time member when I want to, but there won't be any additional charges. Two months later another representative called and said that they will charge $299 for annual book. I got another call 2 days ago, and I was told that I am invited for a VIP member. So, I said "no thanks!" but I realized that they still charged $218.95 against my credit card. I called my credit card company and requested depute for the amount.
I searched comsumer reports to find out whether there are other cases, finding out there are too many to ignore this scam. Mostly they have never received any services that they claimed that they would provide. I would like to know what can be done to stop this.
