Fraudulent grading system and money requests from parents
Kelly Mill Middle School in South Carolina grades students far higher than they should be as well as financially requesting outrageous funding from parents. They are a private funded school (charging in the range of $8000 a year) and they request that parents buy markers, pens, pencils, tape, paper, notebooks, etc. They also requested that a student D.C. bus trip be paid for a year in advance at $1500 a student (as well as requesting that students' lunch money be provided). Students are lacking in their education due to the falsified grading system. If a student doesn't complete an assignment, their grade that is given is a 74. They also grade students as a percentage of a complete assignment and, for example, 10% of the grade can be based on a title for a project and turning that in. There are students attending that school that do not know how to classify a week (Sunday-Saturday) and do not know how many inches are in one foot. These are 11-13 yr old kids that are being asked to draw pictures with crayons and to complete science projects without any proof of the experiment. The school itself is a business and the state of South Carolina doesn't mind.
