John Casablanca Modeling Reviews

Scam
I worked as a talent agent for JC for quite awhile. I’m that person that called you, did your interview and audition, pressured you to buy the training, and sold you all these big stories of success. Guess what? I made a fortune off of you while you got your classes, photo shoot, comp cards and then never did anything else. These offices are owned by different people but sell the same name and story. You can read the reviews from teens who think this gig is great and love their classes. If you are an adult or parent, beware. Once you get pressured into the contract, you cannot cancel. They will put you into collections if you don’t pay. They will make harassing phone calls. If you have a child who is interested in the industry, find a reputable talent agent. If you are interested in your child working with Disney, contact them directly. They hold their own auditions. We tell you that we are highly selective, but we take everyone. We hold off calling you, give you the run around to make you feel nervous, so when we finally call to say you are accepted, you feel special and that you just have to take this opportunity. Employees of JC are easily terminated if they don’t make enough sales. Please, save your time and money. Seek out professional representation.

Using Disney do scam
Yesterday a radio ad aired advertising an open casting call for Chicago for Disney looking for new talent for the next season. When you call the phone number, you reach John Casablanca Modeling, who stated they were casting for Disney. This is not true, Disney has no involvement with these people. After researching them it is clear they are scamming people out of money to take talent classes and are not associated in any way with Disney! Luckily, we did not attend the appointment and I saved my children a great disappointment...this is a real shame these companies are allowed to exist! I wonder if Disney knows about this????

High pressure - scam
They interview you and call you back saying you are the right "type". Then they try to pressure you into paying over $2000.00 for their classes. They try to humiliate you into signing up by saying things like, "Surely you can afford $50/week for your son/daughter to succeed." Make sure you take your calculator with you - they are blatantly lying about the $50/week - do the math, it is at least $100/week on their payment plan. Ask to audit a class, a reasonable request - you will be told, "NO." The best part, they don't listen to a word you say. My son, an engineering student, decided not to take the classes and after being berated for wasting their precious time was told (and this is word for word), "Enjoy flipping burgers!" These people are nothing more than commission based sales people who know nothing about modelling or careers. Morons and idiots, no doubt just upgraded from telephone soliciting.

Scam
When my daughter signed up for a free interview, she was called. The interview was bogus-- a lot of "yes" and "no" questions instead of trying to get to know my daughter. And although we were told she wouldn't have to pay if she decided she didn't want classes, she was STRONGLY encouraged to go to the school. When we said no, I literally had to stand up and walk out of there, the sales pitch became very strong. Since then we have been called periodically asking to interview. When I complained, they said that it was an accident. 10 calls -- I THINK NOT!! I am on the border of reporting them to someone due to harrassment.

Beware
My daughter went to a JC free visit, hosted by a friend that takes classes there. She came back very excited, saying she made it to the top 6 group after trying out. A few days later, JC called my daughter's cell phone and asked to speak to me, wanting to know whether she'd be going to an audition on Tues or Wed night. WHAT? I never talked to these people, but my daughter was so disappointed when I put my foot down not to shell out $ to this group! I have since read about other experiences, and can tell you that they'll lie to you to get you to sign up, rarely place anyone, and brag about all the famous people who've attended there (also lies, and they've been sued for it).

So be forewarned - try out for a real drama group (high school, summer stock) if you want to act, or contact a reputable modeling agency, not this group of hard-sell lying individuals!

Simply terrible
They tried the same tactics on my family. They play on a young girls dreams. Good thing I came from NYC, and recieved a good education. I was able to read through their ruze. They tried to pull the "We only have 12 slots open" $2000 for the class with an 18% interest rate. Why wont they let you think about it and get back to them? Afraid you might investigate and find out the truth? Why do they go to another state to find people? Ever tried to get money back from somewhere out of state? Its a night mare! Just think about it... teach you to walk, wear make up? The photographer tells the model what poses to do, and the model has professional make up people to do teir make up. The biggest thing is if it sounds too good to be true... it is! Listen to what the say...think about it, think things through, investigate, and most important! Never ever rush into anything... dont let them push you, thats how they get you! Have pictures done and send them to real reputable agency's. If you have it! Then they will get in touch with you and front the money... like an investment! They will make their money back plus...
