They damaged my car beyond repair...just by going in for an oil change...BEWARE don't go here!

I recently got my oil changed at Jiffy Lube off HWY 79 In Hutto, TX.. They put a broken seal on my car and my car dripped oil and smelled of burning rubber. I had to pay 164 dollars to fix what they screwed up. They said they would refund my money and I have gone back several times for my check and they said it would be there later. I am more than disatisfied with their horrible service. I have every intention to sue them if I do not receive my refund check by monday!

I went in for a routine oil change to Jiffy Lube in Yuba City (it was a choice of errand convenience and had been there years before, no problems before). As I was in the waiting room a terrible feeling came over me, my jewelery I'd forgotten in the ash tray!!! I immediately told the cash register attendant that I'd forgotten my jewelry in my car. I went to my car and immediately noticed my wedding ring, pearl bracelets and second ring was missing (costume). I stopped and announced they were missing and the owner said that he had 2 cameras and there was no way that could happen. I finished the search and asked him to roll back his tape. I told him by the way, there is no camera on the out side of the building where I left my car initially and the attendant who greeted me and took possession of it, moved it to the right side, (I left it on the left side). The owner said to me that "I was just looking for stuff". He did not care about my property. He was mad at me. I told him I wanted to see the tapes, so I did. But my thought was that my jewelery was taken outside the building. I really don't know. I did call the police and he took over. Please don't use businesses that you are not familiar with. I'm glad I got a police report. The worst part to me was that the owner had not a care in the world for my needs.

WHICH I ASKED TWICE WOULD IT BE FREE. OF COURSE THEY SAID YES. ONLY TO FIND OUT WHEN I WAS READY TO CHECK OUT IT WOULD COST AN ADDITONAL $23.00. tHEY SAID IT WAS BECAUSE MY CAR USED MORE THAN 5 QTS. MY CONCERN WAS TELL ME BEFORE HAND. THE COUPON SAID NOTHING ABOUT SIGNATURE OIL
CHANGE OR 5 QT.

I took my car to have the oil changed on 8/1/07. Approximately one week later my car started loosing power and the engine was shaking tremendously and the car shut off. It would not start again so I towed it to Firestone Autocare to have it looked at. The auto mechanic diagnosed the car as having too much oil approximately one qt. I towed the car on 9/8/07 to Jiffy Lube from Tacoma WA to Kent WA about 35 miles. By the time I got to the Jiffy Lube, the store was closed. I went there on Sunday morning to talk to the manager. He denied there company as being liable but gave me the district managers phone number (Jeremy Smith 425...).

I left numerous messages with him and no response. I called the corporate office where they gave me a claim number (524554). I have filed a small claims suit against the company and the court date is not until January 28th, 2008 @ 1:30 pm. They have not took on full responsibility despite that I have an auto mechanic that has diagnosed the car to having too much oil in the car. I am a contractor and I need my car to go to various job sites, this has caused an enormous financial strain on me and my two children. If I don't have a car, I have no job.

Once they received the small claims order, the manager (John) called me and wanted the key so they could have the car looked at. I took the key to John on 9/15/07, he stated that the soonest he could get my car looked at would be Monday 9/17/07. I went to Jiffy Lube on 9/20/07 to recover my key as they have not done what they said they would do in resolving this matter. They have not offered to get a rental car or followed up with getting the car towed to a shop to get looked at.

I am very disappointed in how they have conducted business.
