Shoddy Service, Wheel Damage
Service at the Grant and Louetta Cypress location has been getting worse and worse and it's very expensive. When I went last month, the price for oil and filter change plus tire rotation was $75. For that price, you'd expect good service and a quality job.
But the next day I noticed a pool of oil in my garage where my car is and knew they hadn't re-tightened the drain plug after then finished the oil change. I took it back in the next day and they fixed it after a 45-minute wait, and tried to tell me the problem was a poor oil pan seal! The car is only two years old! Give me a break.
To top it all off, a week later I noticed that the 'technician' had really scraped and gouged one of the alloy wheels when rotating them, basically ruining the looks of it.
So to sum it up, avoid this Jiffy Lube location at all costs! They're horrible!

Failure to pay damages
Recently (6/12/2010) we had our 2008 Chevy Corvette into Jiffy Lube 884 Blossom Hill Rd. San Jose, Ca. 95123 for an oil change. Their "signature oil change" includes change of oil (synthetic), and top off all other fluids.
On 8/10/2010) our vehicle needed to be towed to the Chevrolet Dealership at 905 W. Capitol Expwy San Jose, Ca. 95136. We currently have 15, 000 mi. on this vehicle as we do not drive it as a primary vehicle. The tow service was AAA. That afternoon we received a call with questions as to where this vehicle has been. Since there has been no previous mechanical issues. The manager explained that the clutch is in-op, pedal went to the floor. Tech verified with inspection of the clutch fluid, found seal for container distorted, some type of red fluid has contaminated system-possibly ATF or P/S fluid. Necessary to replace clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder incl. hoses, replaced, now everything checked out fine.. Total $2626.62 which is not included on the warrantee because the oil change was not serviced at dealership.
We rented a car for 5 days as we needed another vehicle. Hertz $700.00.
Jiffy Lube was contacted when we were first called for diagnosis. The response was who was on the invoice that did the service? "He messes up he needs to be fired". When the work is complete call us back. We in turn have our vehicle back on 8/18/2010. With providing all documents and by the way the parts with fluids that are Hazardous are still at the dealership if need to go to court. Jiffy Lube and their district manager REFUSE to pay. I will indeed go to court now I will add for the time off and any other fees.

stay away!
It's been 21 years since I've been to a Jiffy Lube. In 1989 they improperly installed an oil filter on my car causing the engine to seize up. They refused to take responsibility and I could not afford to pursue legal action. I have been boycotting them ever since and I have made it my mission to tell everyone to avoid Jiffy Lube . I estimate that I have cost them over $25, 000 dollars in lost business over the years. Screw them.

Deceptive statements
My son took my 2003 Hyundia Tucson in for an oil change on 7/11/10. While at Jiffy Lube he called me and told me that the guy at Jiffy lube says my Air Conditioning unit is low on freon and needs to be "serviced" and that just using your A/C will cause it to run low. The A/C was working great prior to going to Jiffy so I told my son not to have this service performed. I was angry that tis shop attached freon gauges via hoses to the high side and low side valves on my A/C system without prior consent. EACH TIME YOU CONNECT A GAUGE SET TO THE PORTS YOU LOSE AN OUNCE OR MORE OF FREON WHEN YOU DISCONNECT THE HOSES, THE FREON NEEDEDTO FILL THE HOSES. (On the high side, this is liquid freon which respresent a significant a amount of freon. Approximately one ounce is lost) We put over 3000 miles a month on this vehicle so we change the oil monthly and if they checked the freon levels at each oil change the vehicle will surely need freon. .
( NOTE: I'm an expert in refrigeration systems and I can tell you one sure fact:
FREON DOES NOT GET "USED" UP. AS LONG AS THERE IS NO LEAKS IN THE SYSTEM AND THE SYSTEM IS SEALED, THE FREON WILL LAST THE LIFE OF THE CAR OR THE COMPRESSOR. FREON DOESN'T GO "BAD" OR BECOME LESS EFFECTIVE OVER TIME. These are lies that unscrupulous repair shops tell customers to get them to pay for services they do not need.)
Today, 8/7/2010 my son took our car in for an oil cahnge again and told the tech he only wanted an oil change and no other service period. Well guess what? They again hooked their hoses up to the A/C and said the A/C is low and needs servicing.
When my son got home and told me this, I called Jiffy lube and spoke to a gentleman who told me that they check the A/C systems on each car that comes in. I advised him that that was not a good practice. He stated that all cars need to have their A/C serviced because the freon is "used up". He stated "The more you use your car's A/C, the more it is used up, just like anti-freeze and gasoline. I told him this was not true so he put the manager on the phone. Jose, the manager, came on the line and stated the same as his tech. He clearly stated that freon is "used up" and the more you use your A/C the faster it runs out. It may run out in a year, six months or a month depending on how much you use your A/C. He stated emphatically, that even if your A/C system has no leaks, it will still use up freon.
The false statements as well as the practices of this repair shop are fraudulent. This shop is using false statements to convince customers that they need to "refill" their A/C units in their cars depending on how much they use their A/C. Attaching gauges and hoses (commonly refered to as a "line set") to a vehicles A/C system is a bad practice and will cause the system to lose a small amount of freon each time. Also the valves for which the connect their hoses too can become leaky. But since the system only holds a small amount of freon it would take many freon "checks" to have the level become low.
requesting that this complaint be fully investigated. I can't imagine how much money this shop has made by providing false and misleading statements to the public. This is shameful.

Oil Change complaing
I've been going to Jiffy Lube routinely for oil changes and tire rotation, but this will be the last time. They tell me they are unable to rotate my tires because the lugnuts are stripped. The bad thing is this is the 2nd time this has happened. Apparently on Chrysler 300's, Challengers, Chargers, their is a decorative cap on the lugnut. They are not training their employees that you have to use a certain tool on these models. And, to top it off the next day I notice my car is leaking oil. Not Happy!!! The manager has agreed to order new lugnuts for my vehicle and we will see what's goint on with the oil leak.

Stay away from them
Jiffy Lube Store #1677 on 4/10/10 showed me a print out that my battery was going to leave me stranded on the side of the road because it had almost no cranking power. I said there $110 was too much, but I did get the oil change, air filter and air cond filter for $130. I went to Advance Auto Parts and they checked my battery for free, gave me a print out that it met or exceeded required standards and then recommended I take the car to NAPA when I did want a battery because it was still under warranty.

How do they manage to clean so fast
Jiffy Lube on 2025 N Tustin, Santa Ana was very fast. Maybe too fast. When I was there it took them 8 minutes to change oil, filter, wash windows, vacuum and check all fluid levels. How can they do that in 8 minutes? Really want to know how they can do it so fast.

Stay far away from Jiffy Lube
I recently went to the Jiffy Lube in Bozeman, MT for an oil change. Just to get registered it took too much time because of all the add ons they want to sell you. When asked about the air filter, I told them they changed it last time I was in (3, 000 miles ago). Pretty soon a technician came into the waiting area with a air filter seeing if I wanted to have it changed. Surely air filters last longer than 3, 000 miles. Further more it took almost 2 hours to get out of there.

Broke Car and Didn't Pay
After an oil change from Jiffy Lube I noticed oil leaking on my clean driveway. I found out that Jiffy had stripped out the drain plug threads from overtightening. Jiffy did not honor their satisfaction garuntee, did not fix my car, and did not return my money. I wrote to the Jiffy Customer Service Dept and rec'd no help. I wrote to the Jiffy CEO/President and rec'd no help. I will never use Jiffy services again and strongly recommend no one else take chances with their cars either.
The car repair and oil clean-up was out of my pocket and should have been paid by Jiffy.

Long line
I usually go to Jiffy Lube, but lately every one I go to has a long line. Is anyone else experiencing this? Or have a recommendation for another service? I liked them because they were national and trustowrthy.
