Poor customer service
I was so excited to get the beautiful Dylan crib, dresser/changer, and hutch, by Bedford Baby. Not to mention it was a great price. My first obstacle was getting the 10% off for new credit card apps. For some reason, this was difficutl to do online. I then decided to call the 1-800 number. The first customer service rep I spoke to, told me that after placing my order, I had to wait to get the card in the mail and could then use my 10%. (In other words, I couldn't use it on THIS purchase). The next morning I called again and received a different answer. This time I was told that was not the case, and I spent an extensive amount of time replacing my order by phone. The next day, I received yet another call about another "problem" with the order. After three phone calls and numerous transfers by phone my order was complete! How exciting! (So I thought). About 10 days later, I headed to the store (almost an hour away, with a borrowed truck) to pick-up my order. While in the process of checking and loading my crib and dresser, I noticed the hutch was nowhere to be seen. The employees told me that for some reason that piece of furniture was canceled and they would reorder it. I though, "ok, at least I'll get it." On my hour drive back home, I call the 1-800 number again to make sure the hutch was ordered. The gentleman said, that yes it was ordered and there are five in stock in the warehouse. (Thank goodness) About three hours later, after unloading all of the furniture and taking it up three flights of stairs, I receive a phone call from JC Penny and they tell me just how sorry they are and that the item that I have ordered has been discontinued! I call the 1-800 number yet again, and they confirm that this is the case. And again, they are very sorry!!! She tells me how I can box everything up and return it to the store... Wow, exactly what I want to do! Drag it all down two flights of stairs again and drive another hour each way!!

Defective shoes
I purchased a pair of 75 dollar sketchers in January of this year. They have already started falling apart, so I went back to the store to see if I can get them exchanged for a manufacture defect considering I am still under the 90 day policy. I was told that since I wear my shoes everyday this is not a manufacture defect. They had a manager come down and say that they can’t do an exchange since I have worn them and they will be unable to resell them. I stated that this is a defect to her and same response as the associate. I guess you just can’t teach stupid.

dishonest, didn't keep word on offer
Black friday shopping in store did not have jeans in flyer. Salesperson said to order it online for same price. Catalog dept gave me a discount for my inconvenience. Came in wrong size. Went to reorder. Catalog gal had great difficulty but management kept walking away to take down sale signs. Catalog gal ended up calling it in. Couple days later received message that item no longer available. I called catalog toll free number for item. They said it WAS AVAILABLE. They ordered to come to Mount Pleasant. I said forget it! They lied to me and obviously didnt want to honor the discount.

returned refund
Hello..I'm very upset about what happened w/ my experience at your store!!! I had problems w/ my glasses 3 times.First of all I had them sent back for the wrong prescription..2nd I had them sent back again for a scratch on the len's and a len's that was bowed.At that time they sent me a $25.00 gift card for my problem's.So the last time was that the glasses had another scratch on them and then asked for a refund!! They in turn refunded me but had the audacity to take off the $25.00 that they had givin me for the issues I went thru.!!I'am shocked at how much I had to do and then your store actually takes back the money at the end!!I will never shop there and have never been treated w/ such disrespect!I hope this get's to the right person. Thanks but no Thanks!!

as a good custermer it is awful that your name is front of trickery. I filled w/all kinds of personal stuff. I was thinking about grand kids in St.Pete, they do not have much. completed your application & it says Im not eligable. What is that I did everything it said.

faulty design
I bought the Sydney Daybed & Trundle from JC Pennys on 2/24/08. The bed has a back slat 1"x4" 8 ft long that is the manin support for the mattress slats on the back of the bed. My daughter had a friend over so the trundle portion was in use. During the night the back slat snapped in two and the bed center crashed in on my child. Luckily she is 5'5" and 115 pounds and not a toddler. She was stunned and suffered some brusing but a younger child could have been severely injured. I spoke with JC penny Customer relations and they do not stand behind the product. They were like oh well you have had the bed for a long time. Two years is not a long time for a bed! Very disappointed in the product, customer service and the attitude of JC Penny's.

WOW!!! Treated so bad!!! Before leaving the mall, through JC PENNYS we bought a drink. My son dropped the drink by the bathrooms. While I was trying to clean it up, a worker said to me so ugly, DID U CALL ANYONE TO CLEAN THIS UP, as I was on my hands and knees, with 4 children, she walked over me and said on the speakers, ugly again, that someone needed to come clean up a spill. Then a "manager", said while I was on my hands and knees, I guess here is the spill...allowed to me clean it up while people where literally walking over me, even when I said that person just kicked me...Then when I said something about the lady being so rude to me, he shrugged his shoulders at me. I will NEVER go shopping here again!!!

withdrew $9.95 with out notice
I orderd from JC Penny on line so I don`t have any address and I`ve just noticed after paying my bill that they went in my account for another 9.95$ Showing it was SB Fun Family rewards and I never received any notice, I would like to now if I can have my Money back . my e-mail is [email protected]
the only proof I have is from on-line banking if you would like it please let me know and I will send it to you. I am not very pleased that they go into your account with any further notice I can only imagine what else they can do. They should not be legal.

Demographic Discrimination
I placed an order for an item of clothing at JCP. I then received an E-mail notification that the item was on backorder. I later looked at the JCP website and the item was still shown in the color and size that I wanted; however, I was notified that the item was low stock and then asked for my zip code. After entering my zip code, I was then notified that it was not available. I callediInternet orders customer service and inquired as to why my zip code mattered, and why if the item is available in the correct size and color, it could not be shipped to any zip code? I asked if JCP is demographically profiling. I asked if I could have the number to JCP Quality Assurance and/or Customer Complaints. The representative, Barbara, then became argumentative, rude, and could not answer my question and in turn hung up hurrily. This is not the first time that I have experienced this. I wanted a rug in the store, and the store clerk checked all the stores in my area, but it wasn't available; however, it was in stores/states that were more affluent and Caucasian. JCP is demographically profiling and restricting purchases to certain areas and people. 29 November 2009.

Credit Card
I was just called by someone who spoke a foreign language (sounded like someone from India or similar culture) who had an inquiry into my crdit card he claimed I had with JC Penny. I never applied for a credit card with that company and I do not have any business dealings with that credit card. My husband and I often receive calls and mailings from supposed credit card collection agencies about credit cards they claim are in arrears and apparently have our social security card numbers, etc. We do not have the cards they have listed nor do we pay anyone with nonsense claims that we "owe" them. We KNOW who we do nbusiness with and we KNOW what and who we owe. We have a silent number so how are these scam artists getting our silent number? We are careful to only use secure sites (or claim they are) if it is necessary to give it out. What is the best way to handle these scam people and how do we catch them so they can be tried for fraud? We are getting tired of it!!!
