Terrible experience
I requested enrollment in the Farmers Identity Shield thru my Farmers agent, Paul Volz 541-482-8463, Ashland Or. It is to be part of my homeowner policy 73915625095. On August 22 2008 I rec'd a letter from Farmers giving me activation instructions. Today I tried following the instructions:
1.open internet browser window - www.myfarmersidentityshield.com,
2. enter user name (given in letter),
3.enter temp password (given in letter),
4. confirm acct profile,
5. follow quick steps to ensure identity,
At this point when I clicked on "continue" an error message appeared and I was instructed to call a phone number, which I did. At this point I was given a series of menus-none of which seemed to apply to my situation, therefore, I kept choosing #1. I was finally connected to a male employee who had no understanding of why I was calling, even after I tried explaining two times. He told me that if I wished to purchase a report I would need a credit card number. I again explained that I was doing a link to my homeowner policy therefore I did not believe I needed a credit card number. At this point he said he was going to transfer me to someone who might know about the Farmers program. I was on hold on my cell phone for 15 minutes before I hung up. I don't know if this is an isolated incident or if happens on a regular basis, but enrolling in the Farmers Identity Shield should not be this hard or frustrating.

Unauthorized charge
Intelius.com just put two unauthorized charges on my credit card. I am disputing these, however I found on this web site that this is a new scam. How do they get the credit card number?

Unauthorized Charge
I was charged $19.95 on 8/1 from Intelius. I've never done business with this company. When I called the 800 number I spoke with a gentlemen and was told he would credit my checking account. I checked a few days later...no credit but another charge for $19.95. My deepest concern is how this company received my information. I'm still in the process of trying to get my money back.

cancel/close account
My order number is 13760678. I wish to close this account effective immediately. I was attempting to get information on my cell phone number. The information given me lists 2 people whom I have never hear of. My name is not included. Plus they both earn the exact same amount of money & their mortgages are for the same dollar amount. Could it be that they are fictious people. Again close my account. Thank you. Kevin.

Unauthorized charges pmindentity.com $19.95
After paying for their search service, you will start to see a $19.95 charge each month from pmidentity.com even though you did not sign up for this service. The majority of Intelius revenue is coming from this hidden charge. This is a known scam exposed by TechCrunch.com:
http://www.techcrunch.com/2008/05/29/naveen-jains-intelius-prepares-to-go-public-how-much-of-their-revenue-is-a-scam/
This company is owned by the billionaire, Naveen Jain, who made his money from the controversial InfoSpace.com. That story is fully covered by the Seattle Times below:

Charges to credit card for 24 protect plus
I noticed charges on my credit card from 24 Protect Plus for $14.95. I called 24ProtectPlus and they informed me that Intellius authorized them to charge my credit card. I don't even know what this service is. 24ProtectPlus agreed to refund. I'll wait and see. I had to cancel my credit card because of this. Complete scam!

Bogus charges
First, a mysterious charge of 19.95. Then a credit for 19.95. Then ANOTHER charge for 19.95 then another credit. Then YET ANOTHER charge for 19.95. Result: three charges, two credits. This company--Intelius--will not stop until they wear out all of us--and we now number over a hundred. And to think they're owned by Equifax, who monitors our internet security!!! Beware of Intelius.
