On May 18, 2010 I contracted with Wayne Teper, Hilton Upholstering Company, to reupholster a sofa and love seat with fabric I purchased.
The sofa reupholstery time-line was 4 weeks, however it was completed in 7 weeks. The sofa was delivered on July 10, 2010, and the second part of the job, the love seat, was taken for completion the same day.
On September 10, 2010, after no word on the completion of the reupholstery, I telephoned Hilton Upholstering and was told it would take 2 more weeks.
On October 15, 2010 I telephoned again but was unable to contact Wayne Teper and he did not return the phone call. On October 22, 2010 I sent a letter asking about the status, but got no response.
On October 25, 2010 I sent a certified letter insisting that the job be completed immediately and the furniture returned to me.
On October 26, 2010, Wayne Teper telephoned me and advised that he would remove the furniture from his storage and return it to me.
On October 28, 2010, after more than 14 weeks, the love seat was returned to me exactly as it was taken. The reupholstery work had not even been started.
This left me with a love seat and sofa that no longer matched and hundreds of dollars in unused fabric.
Wayne Teper has made no offer to complete the job and is now refusing to accept any certified mail sent to him regarding this matter.
