BUYER BEWARE! We bought into this club thinking we would have access to wonderful getaways at great prices. We expressed concern that we were not sure about buying into the club because we did not do any research beforehand. Actually the woman who set up our appointment gave me the name of another travel agency and did not mention anything about Grand Getaways. And she assured me this was not a timeshare presentation, and at no point did she mention this was a presentation for a travel club. Well, a travel club is pretty close to the timeshare idea. Our presenter, Mike, assured us that we had 3 business days to rescind our decision. The woman who coordinated the paperwork signing briefed over the fact that we would be charged $300 if we rescinded and did not return the binder. Mike, nor this woman, NEVER mentioned that fact that they would charge us a restocking fee. After receiving a temporary password to browse the travel website, we discovered the options were not ideal for our family. And, all the negative reviews about this club raised a lot of red flags for us. We sent back the binder within 2 days. We were refunded our money within 1 week, less a $395 restocking fee. WHAT??? Don't understand this, as there is nothing to restock!! This is essentially a penalty and a way to get money from people. When I mentioned I found this to be DECEITFUL to Lou Abbotti (sp?) from Grand Getaway, he became agitated and unpleasant. There is no doubt in my mind why this company is not listed in the Top 10 list of Travel Clubs.
