After paying Google $3.88 for a CD, I was subsequently charged $72.21 in Feb. and Mar. This is free money for Google since I ordered NOTHING from that company. How can I get my money back?

On this date I made contact with customer service at the following telephone number 888-705-1275 in reference to a charge of $72.21 for “Google Treasure Chest”. This charge was hidden within the terms and conditions when I signed up for a Google starter kit which was to cost $3.95 I believe. I did this to see what the starter kit involved, which by the way I have yet to receive. Within the instruction which I did not see was the information that I would be charged $72.21 per month beginning seven days after I signed up. I was unable to contact customer service to cancel as they don’t work on weekends and this morning the young lady I talked to was adamant that she could do nothing about refunding my money as the 7 day period was past. She just kept repeating “you did agree……. When you signed up”, and that supervisors did not take calls at her office.

As I said, I have yet to receive the “starter kit” which I don’t want anything to do with now anyway. I only signed up for this to see what was involved and once that $72.21 charge showed up at my on line account all I wanted was out! FYI the conformation number for my call to customer service is 122537012065.

I was informed that there was no way I could pursue this matter except by writing to this address :

I was charged $72.21 for something from google treasure chest. I did not order or authorize this charge
I have seen other complaints regarding this product and unathorized charges. I am apalled that Google is associated with anything that uses this type of business practice.

I was charged $72.21 to my bank account 3/04/2009. I don't know what the heck that charge is for. I never authorized google treasure chest or anyone else to deduct 72.21 from my account. I do expect my money to be returned to my account immediately. The only thing I paid for online line was the google money tree dvd for 3.98, that's it.

As all of you I was charged also. Just talked to Customer Service and they say in very! small! wording that you agree to a Monthly Charge of $72.21 to use there website! I am calling by Bank and putting a stop payment on this charge and I cancelled today and I have a cancellation number. For those of you asking from contact info, here is a toll-free number: 888-705-1275. If any of you were recently checking or getting information about Google Monsy Tree, this is what it is. But the Merchant name is Google Treasure Chest. That will be the way it show on your Statement or On-Line Bank/CC. I hope this has helped someone if not all! I will check back later to see any responses from any of you. We all need to stay together especially with FRAUD charges showing up!
