Imagine my surprise when I ordered the Google tresure chest cd and received in in the mail and I opened it put into my computer and my anti-virus through up a warning saying it has a Trojan Horse virus in it, well I'm not surprised for only $1.97 but I was able to clear out the virus but now I have to cancel my credit card and replace it. I'll gladly join in and get this person removed from the web. It is people like this that make it bad for others on the web

I was online applying for jobs. I did a google search for sces jobs and, under the search results was www.scesonline.com. I saw a link that said $254/day part-time job as seen on cnn, nbs, cbs, etc. I clicked on that and it took me to www.jobsinreview.net. The whole thing was about a guy named Jeff from NC that was in debt and ordered the Google Money Kit and was now making $7500/month. I clicked on the link to order and it said it was $1.95 and all you do is use simple typing skills filling out forms online and watch the money start rolling in.
I checked my bank account and the charged $1.97 to my checking. Shortly after the cd arrived. All it is, is a bunch of folders showing how to start a business online. I saw nothing about filling out forms. I thought to myself, I just wasted two dollars because it was not what the website said it was. I thought nothing else about it until...
I checked my bank account online today, 2/23/09, and the same company debited $72.21 from my checking account. I immediately called them and I found out that when I ordered the cd, I also signed up for a membership for Google Treasure Chest which consists of 3 services for two different companies. 1) Google Treasure Chest, that charges $72.21/month for access to their website and for training material. 2) Grant Spring, which is a company that gives out grants I guess for people to start their own business and they charge $19.99/month.
I told the representative that I thought I was just ordering a cd. She said everything about the memberships are under the terms and conditions. I think this is very deceiving. I saw nothing about any memberships. Only about a cd for $1.95 but, I guess that is how they get you. Anyhow, she said that she was going to give me a refund for the $72.21 and that it would be credited back to my account in 7 - 10 bus. days. Also, she canceled my membership and gave me a confirmation #. She gave me the # to Grant Spring and I called them also. The rep I spoke with there did not know shit. She could not find my account that I unknowingly created and told me to call back in 2 -3 business days and see if they can look it up then.
So, after that I said fuck this shit and called my bank. I explained what happened and they canceled my check card and are sending me a new one. So that neither that company nor any other companies that are affiliated with Google Treasure Chest are going be taking anymore money out of my account. Also, for those of you who have been burned by this fraudulent, money making scam, CALL YOUR BANK. Call them and see what they can do for you. My bank is going to reverse the $72.21 charge after it is officially posted and taken out of my account (its pending now). After it is posted to my account, they are going to mail me some paper work to fill out. I guess something like a complaint for fraud and they said since there are so many people filing claims against this company they will probably accept the claim and I will be refunded my money.

As a former employee of Platinum Teleservices (located in Draper Utah) I can tell you this product is a scam. You pay the $1.97 S&H only to find out that they have enrolled you into various other programs ( Safe Lock ID and Grant Spring) that give a short trial period and then huge monthly reoccurring charges. DO NOT FALL FOR THIS!

I encourage everyone to submit their complaints to the BBB of Utah as well as the Attorney General of the state so this company can finally be held responsible for their shady practices.

I too was fooled! I feel like such an idiot! I signed up with "Google Treasure Chest" and THEN did some research! When I read the fine print I found that they "automatically" sign you up for other "services" you don't find out about until your bank account is $72.00 lighter!

I called the 800 number at the bottom of the screen and immediately cancelled my account - they gave me a second number and told me I would have to call them and cancel another account I was signed up for that I didn't know about. I am pretty sure I spoke with some guy in India or Pakistan. But now I have THREE cancellation confirmation numbers, have emptied my checking account to keep them from charging and am so angry at Google!

Why are they allowing these scammers to victimize people on their own search engine? Shame on all of you!>
