On April 24, 2009 the Texas Attorney General's Office announced charges for operating a fraudulent work-at-home scheme against Infusion Media Inc, GoogleTreasureChest.com, InternetIncomeInitiative.com, and Jonathan D. Eborn ("Defendants"), whose "GoogleMoneyTree.com" promised six-figure earnings for conducting specialized Google and Yahoo Internet searches. According to the state's enforcement action, GoogleMoneyTree failed to clearly inform purchasers that they had been enrolled in monthly memberships and had only seven days to cancel their trial membership. Purchasers who failed to cancel within seven days were automatically charged $82 on their credit card statements each month. In addition to the unexpected credit card charges, customer complaints obtained by state investigators indicate that GoogleMoneyTree failed to actually send the "free kit" and refused to honor customer refunds. The state is seeking an injunction, civil penalties of up to $20, 000 per violation of the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act, as well as restitution for purchasers.

Also it appears that there are many addresses for Google Treasure chest.

This company is abusing the advance consent/negative option regulations.

No where on any of their web pages beginning at the bait page are any of their intentions or disclosure of their intent made transparent or "conspicuous". Conspicious means: attracting special attention,
easily seen or noticed. (not hidden in some obscure link)

Steps to Hit back at Google Treasure Chest

At the top right hand corner there is a complaint button. Go file a complaint against GTC. If enough of us do this maybe someone will take notice and shut them down.

2. Go the http://tips.fbi.gov and file a complaint there.

3. File a complaint with the Attorney General of your state.

4. File complaint with Better Business Bureau

5. File complaint with Federal Trade Commission https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/

If you don’t do anything other than file with just one of the above options it might help to stop this scam. Remember “There is power in Numbers”

I ordered a program as advertised "" google treasure chest " for $1.97 and it came from grantspring.com
I immediatley discovered it was a bait and switch scam and cancelled the following day by phone and by
e mail. I receved a cancellation reference number of 042009-348-7459 . I requested that they remove this charge from my credit card account immediatley. About a week or 10 days later I get an alert from by bank card that a charge of $72.21 has been posted to my account. After checking it was grantspring.com out of Orem, Utah. I then called these people and had to get another cancellation just to protect myself. The problem I have with this is : this was a clear offense of unauthorized use of credit card or theft by credit card. They seem to be operating in several states including Jackson, wyoming. I have 2 pohone #"s on the company 1-888-247-2155 and 866-957-0020. They refuse to give you a managers or owners name. The Attorney General's Office in Utah really needs to shut down this scam operation and the thieves running it. I was too ripped off 72.12 from google treasure chest it better be back on there I am so friking mad.. this is a freaking joke..

I submitted my debit card details to Google Treasure Chest to purchase their CD on making money from home. I have not received the CD but in any event decided I wanted to unsubscribe. The website stated that although I was unsubscribed I would have to telephone to cancel any future payments from my bank account which I had not realised I would have to pay in any event. I cannot get hold of them by telephone and have e-mailed on two occasions to ask them to delete my name from their subscription list to no avail. Today I see $72.21 has been paid out of my account. WHAT CAN I DO???
