Google Treasure Chest Reviews

Unauthorized Charges
I have been charged $72.21 by Google Treasure Chest. I did not authorize this charge. Upon calling "Customer Service, " I was advised that they couldn't return my money because I didn't call within the 10 day trial period. I didn't receive the disk until after the trial period! Further more, never one time was I advised ANYWHERE that there even was a trial period and that if I didn't cancel my "membership" (which I didn't know I had enrolled in), I would be charged $72.21. I am concerned by the number of other complaints I'm seeing online, that my account will be charged more times, perhaps monthly, even after I "canceled my membership" today. I thought I could trust Google.

SCAM
TOTAL SCAM! I signed up and paid the $1.98 and then I instantly called the company and told them to cancel my account because I read somewhere that I would be charged way more every month. After calling them they said my account was deleted and their wont be any charges.

I wake up this morning and there are 3 pending transactions for $38 to this company! Now I have to cancel my debit card, get the government involved and put an end to this scam. These people will be brought to justice.

Steal credit cards by scam
For all people who are cheated by Google Treasure Chest:
Here is the measure that you should take to prevent Google Treasure Chest from stealing money from your credit cards.
(1) If you find the Google Chest made a transaction on you Credit Card for $72.21, and the transaction is still pending and not finally posted on your cards, call your credit card bank immediately and report that your credit card number is stolen by Google Chest, and you never authorize the transaction. The bank will cancel the credit card ASAP and will send you a new credit card with a new account number later on. In this case, you will lose nothing, because you prevent the stealing procedure before it becomes the fact. I do this today, and my bank has stop the pending transcation as well as cancel the stolen credit card account. The pending $72.21 transaction is stopped.
(2) If the transaction is already posted on your credit card, issue a dispute over the transaction to the bank ASAP. If this happens before the monthly credit card statement, you have high chance to get back the stolen money by the protection service provided by your bank without resorting a refund from Google Chest (this service may vary from bank to bank, so hopefully your bank offers you the best protection). It seems Google Chest never refund any money that they stole. (3) The worst case is that you only find your money was stolen after the transaction has been packed into a monthly transaction. But you should still issue a dispute on the transaction to your credit card bank. I am not sure if the bank can get back you money or not, all depending on the details of the CC protection service they provided.

A lesson from these events is that you may need to check your credit card transactions every day using online banking tools, to keep an eye on the potential credit card stealing in any form, and stop the stealing before the pending transaction is posted on your card. Another lesson is being very careful to input your credit card information to any Internet ordering form that has a new face and no credit record among consumers as well as is telling a too beatuiful story to allure you.

Good luck with dealing with the credit card thiefs, Google Treasure Chest and its mutants!
GOOGLE TREASURE CHEST SCAM May 15, 2009
FRAUDULENT PRACTICES
I am retired & living on a very fixed income. I saw the GOOGLE TREASURE CHEST add, which stated that, for $1.98, they would send you a DVD with details on how to work online (from home) for GOOGLE. I authorized the $1.98 charge, I received the DVD & decided not to proceed with the program. In the meantime, I stumbled on the Google Treasure Chest COMPLAINTS & my jar dropped. It sounded EXACTLY like what I had experienced with Google. So, I dialed the 1-866-951-1406 support center (the phone # was on the outside of the DVD package). I asked them to look up my name & tell me what charges had been made. I was told, "a $1.98 charge for the sending of the DVD, and..." & I interuppted & said, "don't tell me, a charge for $72.21 !" The young woman replied, "Yes!" I told her to IMMEDIATELY cancel my account (or I would be charged $72.21 every month !!!). Then I told her I wanted the $72.21 refunded & she told me they would refund it when they received the DVD disc back. She gave me a return address of:
Fulfillment Center
405 East 12450 South Suite I (i)
Draper, Utah 84020

She also had to give me an RGA # (something like return guarantee authorization #) & told me to write it on the address side of the label--& to also include the number INSIDE the DVD package (in case the outside number became smudged). She also told me that whatever service I returned it by (local USPS office, FedEx, etc), I should get a confirmation number.

At least I was only (hah, only !!) charged ONE $72.21 monthly fee & then I CANCELLED my "membership". I will mail the DVD back as advised --- but I will not believe I will get a refund until I ACTUALLY SEE IT !!!

ANY things that only requires a few dollars for a product, or for a trial of medication, etc, MOST LIKELY has a fine print clause that says you will be charged an automatic withdrawal on a monthly basis of anywhere from $50 to $100 per month----& you will NOT know it until you receive your bank statement or charge card bill.

Apparently Google IS NOT affiliated with this scam, but I find it HARD to believe that-----these Google scams have gone on for quite some time without Google suing the scammers for using their name---makes you believe that Google is involved somehow !!!

I hope the scammers rot in hell, if they are not prosecuted first !!!

I truly hope this will help others to at least CANCEL their "membership" & cut their losses (& maybe get a refund--altho I do not have much hope on the refund !!!)

SCAM - Pyramid Scam
I signed up to receive a disk for a way to make money on the Internet. Now I know how they do it. They charged my account $1.97 to ship me a disk (which I have never received) and they charged my account again $72.21! When I called Customer Service, they say they can't return the money until I send the disk back. Well, I never received the disk, so I can't get my money back - sounds like a scam to me! Then, I get a call from Google Treasure Chest saying that I have been chosen as a potential representative to do the same to other folks! I don't think so! Get the word out to everyone NOT to fall for this scam. I have had to cancel my credit to get the charges to stop! I won't order anything else on the Internet because of crap like this happening.
