Unauthorized charges and they wont refund. Call the Utah State Attorney or Utah Consumer Protection and complain!

I was charged on my credit card for something I did not authorize--by clicking on a free information site???

Like so many others I ordered this cd for $1.97. I did receive the cd but have never opened it. I noticed two drafts pending from my bank account for $72.21 on two consecutive days from googletreasurechest. I sent them an e-mail asking about this. I never heard back from them but they did put the money back in my account. At least for two days. Thinking I had $144.42 back in my account I used my debit card for other purchases and bills only to find out they had taken the money again causing overdraft charges of $70.00 plus the $144.42. I have never received any type of reply from them and am still out over $200. No one will answer my calls or e-mails. Is there any way I can pursue this? I hope everyone thinks twice before falling for this scam. I imagine they have made quite a bit of money off people by now. I would hope someone there has a conscience and realizes how tough it is in todays economy without helping to rip people off! It makes me sick to know I let myself fall for this and I hope there is some way to stop them!

There must be a consumer protection organization where complaints can be made against intended internet scams like this one. If it were a fair, legitimate business, they would not be afraid to clearly advise of the fees for their services--the intent to "hide" them proves what a fraudulent company they are. If anyone knows where to file complaints to stop these type of companies, let us all know and we'll certainly follow up.

Foolishly signed up for a starter kit for 1.97 (never refunded) and never had a phone number to cancel the program.

When the "kit" didn't arrive I thought I had managed to cancel, but the charge to my credit card was 72.21 plus foreigh payent charge of 2.16 plus the 1.97 for the never received "kit"
