I'm a 30-year Telelcommunications Tech with experience working for some of the Biggest Telecom corporations in the Nation. I have NEVER, in my long experience, encountered a WORSE telecom company than Global Tele Link. I became acquainted with these VILE people as my sister's fiancee was incarcerated on an outstanding traffic warrant and they are the ONLY ones who have a contract with the jail system. They charge over 10% in fees off the top for their service and their long-distance charges are in the neighborhood of $1/minute when EVERY other telecom charges 4 cents/minute or less. What this does is gouge the poor and unfortunate souls caught up in the "justice" system. Their customer service is atrocious, their crediting of charges for inmate calls are slower than cold molasses and their rates are a total rip-off. So here's MY solution. I plan on investigating their contracts WITH the jail system, applying for a telecom resellers license and going into competition WITH Global Tele Link for their jail service with the aim of DRIVING THEM INTO BANKRUPTCY. I KNOW I can provide a better service for lower costs with ACTUAL polite customer service and STILL make a tidy profit for myself. Needless to say, I will NOT be hiring ANY of THEIR Customer Service Reps even if they PAID ME to do the crappy job they do now.

This company does not have the first nor last idea about customer service. Perhaps its the fact that they are the only one providing collect call services to nys inmates. I recently came into a situation where my payment was not received by this company. I paid via my web bill pay straight from my FCU. Well unfortunately this company was the only one not to credit my account. After about a month i had to get the payment reversed and pay via credit card, and lost calling rights with this company. I had my FCU contact them personally and a fax confirming payment was sent in a timely matter, GLOBAL TELE LINK would not confirm that my account was a valid account nor would they confirm the address to which the payment was sent! I contacted them personally and asked what would be sufficient proof in order to get this matter squared away since I am no longer able to speak with my loved one. Not for his birthday nor Christmas mind you. I was told that i could submit a fax of proof of payment, per GLOBAL TELE LINK this was sufficient information. Well clearly it was not. My financial institution sent this fax and to cover themselves I have been told by GLOBAL TELE LINK that there is no documentation of a conversation between my institution and GLOBAL TELE LINK as well as no receipt of fax, and that my calls would not be restored and that i would have to build up my call limits from the beginning. Unacceptable, besides being transferred to voice mails when customer service did not want to deal with me and being hung up on for being upset to not having anyone to report these acts to besides a address I can write to, this is down right ridiculous and this company and customer service individuals need to be held accountable.

This company has monopolies in certain areas and ripes people off as they are hostages to Global. There telephone service stinks as it rarely work an takes then forever to restore. There costumer service reps are the worst i have ever encountered. This company should have its communication license permanently revoked.

Don't ever do business with Global tele link. It is fraud based company. They are charging the credit cards with out taking confirmation and not refunding even when you contact them., The Customer service is very very horrible..they are very harsh and rude on the phone. Be aware of this service and ever give your information to them. Last you cannot close your account with them if you one opened. It is a dangerous telecommunication service provider.

GLOBAL TEL LINK ARE CROOKS! Tthey TAKE ADVANTAGE of the families who have loved ones in jail and prison!!! Why is it that I can call across the nation and pay for only one call and talk as long as needed, yet to speak to my son 400 miles away I am charged 14.00 for a 20 minute call, and I must pay 50.00 + each month in advance???? This company and those prisons and jails that support their STEALING should all be put in their own facilities!!! CROOKS WILL ANSWER TO GOD ONE DAY AND I PRAY THAT THEY GO OUT OF BUSINESS AND REPENT FOR THEIR WICKED ACTIONS BEFORE THEN!
