Customer service and fraud
my purse was stolen with my cell phone and my credit card. I was very uset to see that my credit card had been used with this company. i called my credit card to advise them of the fraud and they advised me to contact the comapany directly for a faster refund. I called the first time waited on hold for 45 mins. i called again and waited for 30 mins to get a rep that advised i would need to speak to a supervisor. she transfered me to a supervisor, i waited on hold for another 27 mins. i could not wait any more so i called the next day. I was hung up on 8 times each time the rep would pick up with out saying a word they hung up on me. Then i finally got through to a rep who advised she would take care of it and that i would be credited in 7 to 10 business days. i was on the phone with her for only about 10 mins. then 15 mins later i get a call from the same company and same rep advising me that i will not be credited per her team lead. I was so upset at this point. not only had fraud been cometed but i was being treated like a criminal. The sup got on the line she MRS BECK would not give her frist name advised me that i would have to basically jump through hoops to get my $25 back. i mean come on its $25. Previously i was advised that only a partial amount had been used, so i told BECK that i will just take what ever the balanace that remains on the account. WOW, i could not beleive how rude and dumb she was. I was told 8.19 was the amount used lol this includes there fee. i was willing to take my losses and get a refund of 16.81 but BECK told me that this is impossiable "because of the fraud that i claim, the account is now negitive $8.19. " i just dont know what to say at this point. I can not believe i have to do all of this and still may not get my $25 or my $16.81 back. this company needs to revoluate there service on all levels

RUDE, MONOPOLIZING, RIP-OFF SCAMS
Customer service persons speak to you in rude and condensending manner. A MONOPOLIZING, RIP-OFF company. WE DESERVE RESPECT AND SERVICES FOR MONEY THAT YOU TAKE FROM US! Personally I think its Un-American to only offer one company to choose from for services that so many people need and paying mint for! The dept of corrections are probably getting kick-backs for letting Global Tel have the monopoly!!!

Terribly rude customer service
I totally agree with you Latoya. They are ridiculously rude. They gave me the wrong information stating that you had to have a land line telephone (from the pole) in order to recieve inmate calls-no cell phone or digital phone service (vonage, etc). So I went out and had AT&T installed into my home. They would not approve the land line because the inmates name was on the bill. Come to find out that 3 months that some stupid customer service person gave me the wrong information. Globel tel does accept vonage, you just have to fax over the bill to register the line-which I still have not heard back from customer service. How can they be so rude and give out false info like this and get away with it? Now I have 3 telephone lines(digital, land, cell) and still am not getting any calls from my brother. Maybe it is just better to write, I know its cheaper and less frustrating!

Billing scam
I have being trying to get intouch with a representative due to the fact that I have being showing in my later bills tha I owed $467. when I have being paying my bill monthly as it comes. So how come now I owed that amount? What happen with my payments. I will like to received prove with a statement that shows which calls I did not pay. I don't want a statement with the amount ony. I will appreciate if you take care of this matter soon since I want to continue receiving calls.

What a bunch of Idiots
Where does one start with this company? Oh wait... you can barely even talk to any of them when they do call you back! Who knows if it's going to be a hard foreign accent trying to speak English or if you will actually understand the representative. I have never understood why it is so confusing for them to get your account right. One minute the tell me my balance is $0 and then they say "what was your number again? "oh wait you have $8.29 remaining." Are they serious? Makes me wonder how much money have they already kept of mine? Ya know. Then I wonder why they tell me I can make payments online. Ok that would be great if you could follow their website--massive updates need to be done. Now I am sitting here wondering why there is a block on my phone line--when I always pre-pay and I can't even check the status of my account because there is nothing available--not a representative, nothing automated, nor an online service. I hate being lied to and how they take forever just to process a transaction. It really should NOT take 20-30 minutes--in the real world. What a bunch of idiots!!!

Customer Service
I've been using this company for collect calls since they took over MCI, and I must say that the service that I've been receiveing is not commendable at all. From the day that I first opened the account I had difficulties. To open the account they wanted me to fax over a current phone bill, and allow 3-4 business days for processing. I waited, and called for an account status, and my fax was never recieved. After hours of talking to different representatives, I was informed that I was given the wrong fax number. So I had paid $6.00 to transmit this fax, and now my personal information was floating around somewhere. Nothing was done about the inconvenience that they incurred. I mean I could go on with the complaints of unsatisfactory service I've received with this company. Due to the fact that they are the only company that offers this service, they tend to ignore certain customer issues. As the consumer I can say that it is very unfair for us, to have to pay for a service that we are unhappy with, and not be able to put a stop to it.

block on phone
my son is in london ohio correctional and until 130 pm july 31 i have been receiving collect calls from him. today he tried to call me and was told by global tel link that you have a block on my phone and could not receive calls from him. why why why? i owe you nothing as i pay my bill through my own telephone company. i want this block lifted now and not to happen again

block calls - no representative
on your bill and on the internet they state "our customer service representatives are available to our customers Monday through Friday 7:00am until midnight Eastern Time at 1-800-231-0193.

i do not get a live person. i have paid my bill in full. it is going over three months. my phone is blocked from getting calls. my phone company does not have a block on my phone. it is GTL. you've got your money take off the block. get off the automation and have a live rep.

i am going to the attorney general because this happens everytime. it happened with MCI and now it is happening with GTL.

my phone bill was under $40.00.

WORST SERVICE EVER
gLOBAL tEL lINK IS NOTHING BUT A RIP OFF. tHEY HAVE NO OR THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. tHEY COLLECT YOUR MONEY AND THEY PROVIDE THE WORST EVER SERVICE I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED. I WANT TO FILE A SOME SORT OF A CLASS ACTION SUIT ON THESE CROOKS!
