Refund
I had pictures done at the Glamour Shots in Fairview Heights IL. They told me the lab wouldnt print one of the pictures because it was innappropraite (It was for Valentines Day for my boyfriend). I was ok with that, but i did wonder why i was allowed to order the print at the store if it was that innapropriate. I said that was fine, but that i expected a refund for the print (50$) and the airbrsuhing (70$). Well the sales rep was so "sorry" that she offered to email my photo for my problems said she would refund me. Well now they are saying the emailed picture was sufficient enough and that i dont deserve a refund for any of this. Are they serious? 120$ for an emailed picture that i could of done with a digital camera. I still have to find a company thats going print this picture and pay for the print. They have terrible customer service, they never call me back like they kept saying they would. They acted like im being difficult, just because they dont want to handle the issue. In all i paid over 200$ for 1 shot that wasnt even that nice and took 21 days to even show up. Please do not fall for this rip off!

Ripped off!
The initial greeting made the two of us feel like WHAT! are you doing here? My clothing was accepted and placed on the floor in front of the door that led to the room of the photo shoot. I asked the photographer if I could have a shot of the white dress with back showing we know that never happened. But she was very courteous.

I sit next to the presenter with a witness and was told about a (5) picture package but could not have it under $621.00 I stated my budget consistently and was ignored. She would never allow me to look at the pricing book that she kept closing each time she gave a price. I asked (4) times how much does one individual photo cost she repeatedly stated $135.00 I stated I did not want the touch up or special paper but of course ignored. The free photo came with the special glossy paper but I was charged for it anyway.

I received a black and white copy of the negatives thats not recognizable and the same individual stated thats the way they come. She has worked there (15) years and she has never given a recognizable copy to anyone. I've gone there (7) times in the last (8) years with interested customers and this is the first time I received a copy I couldn't recognize.

I am ripped off for $120.00 but the rip off was larger $297.00 to be exact until I called and complained. Satisfaction will not be obtained here they are rude disrespectful rip off artist. I do have a witness and will not rest until some justice is done.

Unfair treatment of employees, passive racism!
Last night I terminated my employment with Glamour Shots at the Arbor Place mall in Douglasville due to unfair treatment. I could list off five other employees (both former and present) who will vouch for pretty much anything I say in this complaint. I am trying to start a business of my own aside from working at Glamour Shots, so when I first signed on it was under the pretense I'd be getting <b>part time</b> hours. Instead, on several occasions I was made to close the studio (working sometimes until 12 at night), only to turn around and open again at whatever ridiculous hour that morning (most recently 6:30 am) and work open to close. I wouldn't mind this as much if I didn't live an hour and a half away. I have to be awake 3 hours prior to arriving at the studio and no one seems to take that into account for anything.

Due to the poor management of this studio, several employees had been driven off in one form or another in a short period of time. This left the rest of us to work all kinds of crazy hours to pick up the slack. Often we wouldn't even know our hours until the day before, or sometimes the day of, and would get reprimanded for not being psychic.

Aside from the crazy hours and general slave-labor tactics, there is the issue of passive racism. Again, 5 other (former and present) employees of mixed races, as well as 1 customer (that we know of) could vouch for this. The assistant manager at the Arbor Place branch gives blatant preferential treatment to dark-skinned customers and employees. Being a mature and accepting person myself, this is not something I am used to dealing with. She repeatedly talks down to, yells at, belittles and demands the white staff to do busy work while everyone else gets to stand around, talk and laugh. I have no problem with working for my paycheck, so long as everyone else is doing the same. If any of the white staff attempts to ask a question, we would either get ignored or get an ear full of attitude. If anyone else asked, they'd get a straight and civil answer.

I am taking this complaint to Glamour Shots corporate as well as the labor board. People who have the management skills and maturity of a five year-old should not be allowed to govern other people. This is nearly 2008 (and Christmas, for that matter), racism shouldn't even be an issue in a professional setting anymore. I am not filing this complaint for myself, but for anyone else who has the displeasure of working for this company. I refuse to sit back and do nothing while people are treated this way. Anyone who feels the same should stand up and say so.

Deceptive sales practices!
I took my 13yr old daughter to glamor shots on 12/15/07 to have photos taken for her to give for christmas. I was told it would cost $200.00 to do the styling and take the photos. I was told I would then begin to pick from the photos packages starting at $195.00. After spending about 4 hrs there taking pics. The salesman sat and we looked at the photos while the rest of staff stood behind us & commented on how beautiful the photos were, how my daughter should be a model etc.etc. Then the salesman gives us a price of $5000.00 for the whole package. After trying to get him to reduce the price for over an hour, the lowest I could get him down to was $2900.00. I then told him I had to think about it. I was told, do to memory space on the computer the photos would be deleted if we left. I was never allowed to see a printed price sheet. I was never told I could purchase pictures at any cheaper price. I ended up, after about 5hrs putting a $3000.00 charge on my credit card. I realize I was dumb, but I feel this is a dishonest & deceitful company. I will probably end up pursuing this matter in court

Bait and switch!
I am reporting this to the better business bureau. this franchise is clearly a bait and switch scam. I agreed to have my 3 children's picture taken yesterday December 16, 2007. during this time I was never given a price list nor was anyone helpful in assisting me in providing any further information on pricing until my sons' picture were taken and displayed to me for viewing. This is truly a bait and trap scam.

After my sons' picture was taken the young lady still did not show me a price list but instead wrote out prices and informed me it would cost me from $1200.00 to $2000.00 to get my pictures. Immediately I felt this company or franchise if you will is pulling a large scam in Staten Island and I expect to proceed to spread the word if this is not addressed immediately. I was not told of any holiday specials as I see on the current web site. Instead I was told the cheapest package I could get was 1-8 x 10, 2-5 x 7, and 1- wallet size sheet of pictures for $360 dollars. Unfortunately I felt trapped in this scam and I bought 1 package that cost me $363.00 which has now left me with no money to make a proper dinner for my children for Christmas.

I cannot believe I was not even give a choice to break pictures up for different prices!! Another example of what appeared to be a scam to me was that I was also not told that any sheet I wanted to choose that had my 3 sons in it would start out as $60 per person in the sheet. In other words I was told that I had to pay $180 PLUS and special effects that provided within the photo. But I was not even given that price either for special photos! This site is run by young girls that do not have any information on their product. I will NEVER refer this place to anyone else again.

Disappointed.

Tried to change packet!
I had some photos taken at one of the studios, Glamour Shots at Town Center in Kennesaw,Ga.as a present to my husband the original price was $189... and by adding a few touch ups..it ended at $3,300.00... and with a change of heart I phoned... the next day to get the basic package only, to no avail... from the local store to the regional manager... then headquarters... with lo luck!

I had asked for the 24hour period... allowed in most cases... his response was. The proofs go through the internet... and they are processed immediately". Their customer service did not reply to my letter, the Corporate office was closed... I phoned again the local store, several times till the manager [the one tacking the photos]... and her answer said..."you will not have to pay till Febr... 2008"... as a consolation!

I have already payed them, #154.00... but I am ready to forgo any pictures at this point.

Unprofessional Photos
I stopped into Glamour Shots to see what they offer. I was shown a portfolio of their work to include their "Glamour Touch" and other specialty products. I was very impressed by the Glamour Touch since my daughter has a scar that she is very self-conscious of on her forehead. The sales woman agreed that this would take care of the scar with no problem at all. I was also told that the photos were $45 per pose per sheet. I mentioned that I wanted these pictures a my daughters senior pictures and she offered me the "Graduation Special" which would allow for us to have a free 8 x 10, which she recommended we get her picture taken in a cap and gown. I gladly made an appointment for the following week, at which time I was asked to pre-pay the $25 sitting fee.

When I arrived the following week for my daughters appointment, 5:45pm, they were running extremely late. After waiting until 6:50pm, the manager came to me and asked me to sign their paperwork, at which time I read that the "Glamour Touch" effect was $75 per pose. At no time was I ever told this prior to reading it on the paperwork. Had I known this, I would not have made the appointment at Glamour Shots as I cannot afford the $75 Glamour Touch process and I could get the pictures done elsewhere for less. I was so upset and told the manager that this information was kept from me. She argued that they always tell the customer all the process. Since she was not the woman I originally spoke with, how would she know what I was or wasn't told. Regardless, I am the customer and all she really needed to do was apologize for the "mistake" and we could have moved on. Well, she couldn't do that. What she did do was accuse me of either misunderstanding or not paying attention to the sales woman the week before. This infuriated me and I told the manager that if it wasn't for the fact that my daughter as looked forward to this all week, I would not get this done. Her response was "Well, you won't get your sitting fee back." And she proceeded away. . . which, considering how angry I was, was probably a good thing at that point.

Now we are back to waiting and waiting and waiting. Another woman came to do my daughter's make-up. It did not look very good so I offered my assistance and finished her make-up and styled her hair myself. I was not happy about this at all. Come to find out that the woman was actually a photographer and not a hair stylist or make-up artist, she was only helping out because they were short staffed.

The photographer (not the same one that attempted the hair & make-up) was actually wonderful. No complaints there.

I was waiting on my daughter and the manager came to me and said that she was going to make sure I received a free 8x10 for the trouble. She did not use a very nice tome or demeanor. I am not sure if she is aware the I was already supposed to receive one from the Graduation special, so I told her "I am supposed to get one with the Graduation special." Her nasty response, "Then that makes two, doesn't it." What a piece of work.

It is now 10:30pm (the mall closes at 9:30pm) and we are now ready to choose my daughter's pictures. There were digital 67 images to go through. The manager came over to tell us to hurry about 6 times within 15 minutes. The final time she stated, "I really would like to hit the road sometime soon as I have a life." I was shocked and appalled. I told her NOT to come near me or speak to me again.

I was told the pictures would be in the following week. We left at 11:15pm.

Exactly one week later, they called and told me the pictures were in. I went to pick them up and they could not locate them. Okay fine, I will while they look for them. 45 minutes later, still no pictures. They told me that if they could not find them this evening, they would re-order, but they would call and let me know tomorrow afternoon.

Two days later, after not hearing from anyone, I called back. I was told they did not find the pictures and they would reorder them that day. If I had not called, when exactly do you thing they would have place the re-order? Anyway, they told me that they would be ready for pick-up in one week.

After 9 days, I don;t hear from anyone. I called to see if they were in. I was told that they were mailed to my home.

Another week goes by, I call to say I have not received any pictures through the mail. They told me that is because the pictures are there waiting for me to pick them up.

I go that evening to pick up the pictures and 4 poses are missing.

Will this ever end?

So now they have to re-order the 4 poses, which will be ready in one week,.

One week later, they call me to say the pics are ready. I go there and they are still one picture short. I know the drill. . . one week.

Time get past me and it is, again, 9 days and I am call them. Oh yes, the picture is there.

When I get there, it is the wrong pose of the wrong girl. I asked for a refund as I did not want to drive down there again. I was told under no circumstances was that possible and that I should just be patient.

Patient? I have been more than patient. I am done. I don't have the picture and I don't have a refund.

For almost $400 i received:

- A ton of aggravation
- A display of unprofessionalism like never witnessed before
- A lack of respect that every customer warrants
- A loss of time, which is irreplaceable
- Some okay pictures that I could have got at JP Portraits or Olan Mills

I will tell all that I encounter not to engage in business with Glamour Shots.

Sincerely,

Cynthia
