Gardners Choice Reviews

Was Charged and Never recieved the Product
In 2009, I purchased the Giant Tomato Tree from Gardner's Choice and Never Recieved it. After recieving a bank statement I contacted the company and was told that, the item was not in stock. Today 5/17/11 I called to inquire about a refund and was given number 269.621.2481 to contact about my order.

After calling the above number (no-one answered) I contacted again (8665182290)that my credit card was credited. This is not the truth. Customer Service is not supportive and this company should not be allowed to take without ramifications for their actions.

Tomato tree
I ordered these so called tomato trees, and received 2 nursery seed starter packs of three, after 4weeks I have a weed 1 inch tall, the other 5 never did anything. After several e mails I finally got a responce where they gave me an 800 # to call. I would call and get auto answer and then I would be disconnected. After 4 days I finally go to talk to a rude lady who said she would send another shipment. Well I don't need any more seed starter packs that have nothing in them. So I am sending a letter to my card carrier with Photos and get the charge reversed. I guess since our govt, rapes and robs us, it's ok for all shady companys to do the same. These type of companys should be shut down forever.

Cheats customers
Gardner's choice offers free deals and extra plants but doesn't tell you how much your order will cost until it's too late to stop it! My supposedly "free" plants added $40 to my order...and when I tried to contact customer service, my e-mail was undeliverable; when I finally figured out how to contact them I was told it was "too late" and that my order had already shipped. I'm looking at a box of teeny, tiny $20 each little dirt-filled squares that bear no resemblance to the advertisement. I have reported them to the BBB. DO NOT BUY FROM GARDNER'S CHOICE!!!

Rip off
Do not buy they rip you off you will not get back your money and you will spend all kind of time on it.like a iddot i tried them twice but both time it was only 21.00 which was enough not including the time tring to get the seeds to sprout which never happen!take my advice or dont you can waste your money to!!!you can not get a hold of them from email and if you do find out a phone # you will spend hours tring to get your money back and it will not happen i can not believe i did it again.

Not a good deal
We called the advertised 800 number to order ONE Giant Tree Tomato. It was an automated recorded, not a real person. After submitting my order and providing my payment information, the recording kept presenting one additional sales promotion right after the other. After 25 minutes, I was still on the telephone dealing with this nonsense. I did not want to just hang up since they already had my payment information. There was no way to bypass this! The entire sales presentation had to be listened to (for each product) and at the END of the pitch, you could press "9" to decline the offer. Hitting "9" earlier in the sales pitch did not work. I was eventually disconnected because I started hitting "9" too often. We had no idea if our order went through as intended, or at all, or if our payment information had simply been ripped off.

About a week later, we received a huge number of Giant Tomato Tree seeds, as well as an equal number of Early Tomato seeds. Our account was debited on the same day for a whopping $65.00! It would not do any good to call that 800 number to complain, since it is just a recording and they do NOT offer an option to speak to a customer service representative.

Be warned - this is not a good deal!

Unauthorized billing
They cashed my check for 3 empress trees in early March...no product, no contact, no webite anymore...you probably heard it all by now. I was VERY CONCERNED when I hit this website.

I was successful contacting them thru their bank, which processed my check (Shoreline Bank, Hartford, MI). It seems they are a very small company and cannot handle the nationwide order volume, so complaints are from a small percentage of total requests(including me!).

They were very uncooperative with the refund and said my product would be delivered in 2 weeks (for the third time in 3 months I've called). I was told if product was not received in 2 weeks to call back and they would issue a refund. But they could not do it now. This was not a reply I wanted to hear and after reading other postings of repetitive deliveries of dead items, I just wanted out.

NOT HAPPY, SO, I contacted the bank and opened a complaint for fraud against their Account AND I called the Hartford Sherriff's office(616-657-3101)to file a complaint. Sgt. Sam DeLeo took my name and address and payment info and will personally follow-up with Gardners Choice for immediate refund.

I feel confident the Sheriff will get the job done. If you feel this avenue is for you...just do it! The Sherriff also mentioned that they do get some complaints every spring, and the bank representative stated they have been in business for about 20 years.

It's just their customer service and quality assurance that sucks! I am also following up with a complaint to 'Woman's Day Group' (800)362-3817, which seems to be their advertising administrators. They should drop this client and not be allowed to advertise based on their ability to provide adequate service levels. Maybe, you call too!

My suggestion is calling the Sherriff to get a refund and cancel the order!

Terrible customer service
I will turn them into the BBB and the States Attorney for double charging me with no refunds yet in TWO months. Customer service tells you lies IF they even answer the phone, which they are good at NOT doing. I got thru twice and was told the same batch of lies, so now I will let my attorney get my refund back for me. The product sucked and was not worth all this hassle. I learned a hard lesson so please DO NOT do business with them. You will not like the so called service you get from them, or the product either.

Not what we ordered
We ordered one (1) five pound bag of grass seed and received five(5) five pound bags of grass seed and other bags that we didn't order. What was supposed to cost us $39.95 cost us $267.45. We just received our bank statement and found out. They did not send any invoice and we can't get them back by phone because every time I call the # that was given on T.V. you only get a recording that only pertains to orders and nothing else. You cannot get a person to talk to on that line. I want something done about this as we are in the process of hiring an attorney.
