Scam
I had been watching help wanted ads on Craig's List and could tell many of them were come-ons for something other than what was being advertised, but this one looked legit: >Professional and well known commercial general contractor seeking a Construction Project Administrator/Project Coordinator. Duties to include but not limited to the following: primary production of project documents, assist project managers and estimators with information management and distribution, pre and post bid document control, general administrative support for invoicing, record keeping, and contract administration. Assist Estimating and Project Management related coordination. Ideal candidate will have experience working as a project administrator for a commercial general contractor and be familiar with construction terminology and paperwork.Requirement:5 years in the construction industry! Organized and strong focus to detail and accuracy of work, ability to communicate openly and effectively both verbally and in writing, experience in providing administrative support to multiple parties simultaneously, exceptional problem solving, critical thinker, desire to continually tackle new challenges! Team oriented and hard working! Ability to maintain >accurate records and filing system. So I answered it only to find it was also a come-on from your friends at Freelance Home Writers, at it turned out. The return email to my response was from a 'hotmail.com' account for a work-at-home Internet job, and the address at the bottom telling me I could 'opt out' by mail was exactly the same as in the other Freelance Home Writers reports on RipOffReport. The email included a link to their site which is camouflauged by a 'clicks.AWeber.com' email address--A Weber is an email 'marketing' company which helps 'marketers' get their info out. Look them up for explanation. The email also has this note at the end: >You received this offer after "Opting In" to our list at 04/01/2009 08:41: AM with ip address xxx.xxx.x.xxx (my IP addy) If you wish to Opt-Out from further emails, or >received this erroneously, please unsubscribe at the link below. The link in question was another 'clicks.AWeber.com, ' and I have not bothered to click through. I then applied for the same 'job' again using another name and email addy and got the same response from different 'person' with different 'hotmail.com' address. So they are attempting to recruit participants in their scam by planting phony help-wanted ads on Craig's List and who knows where else, and there must be some sort of legal cover they receive by putting the 'opting in' note on the email--the time specified was indeed the time I responded via email to what I thought was the legit job ad. I reported all this to Craig's List, but I gather by reading their forums that this is not an uncommon occurrence, and some say only about 10% of all help wanted ads posted are legit, so I don't expect to get much in the way of a response from them. If this sort of thing keeps up, the nation's newspapers may begin to reclaim their classified ads again.

Scam/theft credit card
Accepted the $2.99 info from them and that was all; no mention of being billed further, no authorization to be billed yet they charged the credit card twice and no answer at their number. Now is not the time to rip people off. I want them hunted down. I want to see their faces. I want my money returned.

Theft
Signed up for ten day trial period. Money has been removed from my bank account for 3 months in the amount of $47.90. Have been unable to cancel. No one responds to my phone and/or e-mail requests.
What do I do?
Thank you

Fraud
Freelance home writers are taking $47 (I am form South Africa and needles to say the Dollar Rand exchange rate leaves me in a really bad situation) off my credit card (Consider the interest) each month. The innitial sign-up is a negligible amount ($3 I think) but the $47 per month is cleverly embedded in the fine print of the 'contract'.

I have tried 5 times to cancel my contract to no avail.
They don't even respond to my emails. It is quite obvious that
Freelance Home Writers are fraudsters. The really sad thing is, that there is no easy way to stop them taking money off your credit card and certainly no way off being reimbursed.

Please stop these criminals.

Unauthorized billing
In September the Freelance Home Writers Miami popped up on my internet. I was interested and tried to get info. They said I had to pay $3.00 to retrieve info. I paid the $3 by using my credit card. Read their info and decided it was - not for me. On my september bill I was charged both the $3 (which was correct) and $47 for a membership. I protested to my credit card company, and they deleted the membership charge.

Now, in October, the membership charge is once again on my bill. I have once again protested the charge. I have never received anything from Freelance Home Writers.

Unauthorized charges on my credit card
I noticed two charges on my latest credit card bill. One for 2.95, the other for 47.00. I have never signed up on their website for their services, nor did I authorized them to take money out of my account for any reason. I have no idea how they got my account information or why they are charging me. I'm guessing this is part of a scam and they are hoping people won't notice the charges on their credit card bills. I'm going to have my husband call the insurance company later this afternoon and hopefully they can help resolve the issue.

Money Scam
Hello,

I filed for my account to be cancelled over a week ago and being charged for the services that I did not want. I registered for their company and right away cancelled my subscription because things seemed fishy. I registered for a free trial paying $2.95 and then a week later got charged for $47.00 that I did not authorize and already filed for my account to be cancelled. Have yet to have my account cancelled and continue to be charged.

Unauthorized monthly withdrawal
I authorized an initial payment of $2.95 covering the charge of further information about membership. With the choice within 7 days to continue. The monthly membership payments was to be $47.00. I understood that I should only contact them if I wanted to authorize becoming a member, with monthly withdrawals. During the week I decided this was not for me and let it go.

Then I noticed on my credit card statement the first monthly authorized withdrawal.

Scam charges
Upon initially signing up with Freelance Home Writers.com, I looked at the sight for a few days and decided it was not for me. Since there was no information on continuing the registration I believed I would only be charged for $2.95 trial subscription. Upon receiving my credit card bill this month I realized I had been charged for the $49.95 which is the full subscription rate. I know I should have checked into this more effectively but I do believe that they are not fully disclosing their procedures.

I hope that by notify you regarding this company, I will save others the expense they do not realize they will be incurring.
