Shockingly bad customer service
After placing an on-line order for over $500 (to which they were very quick to take my money without any information on the lack of stock), I have now been waiting almost 2 months for my books for a course qualification that is 2 months away from assesment. I have only received 2 of the 5 books I ordered (and the wait on the 2 books was almost 4 weeks), sent 3 emails and called 4 times only to speak to an actual person once and only received 2 automated emails stating my order is on 'back order' and when stock comes in they will send. However, waiting on a reply to an email took over a week and always had to follow up with a phone call and when this failed - another email! I did however get through to one employee of Emporium who was the most helpful staff member, he understood my complaint and did nothing but apologise for the terrible service and has since folloowed up with me to make sure I am able to source the books elsewhere (from one fo their competitors). I appreciate his service but this should this have been done 4 phone calls and at least 2 emails ago, and only received such service after I rang as a very irate customer stating I would publish a complaint on the net. In the end I have had to go to their competitor to get my remaining items - their competitor The Co-Op Bookstore not only are THE friendliest customer service I have ever dealt with but they had more than enough copies in stock. I wish that I had have gone to the Co-Op in the first place...
