				Overcharges

On April 28, 2011 the servicing responsibilities for my student loan were transferred from ECMC to another company. Since then ECMC has continued to withdraw money directly from my checking account. In fact, ECMC has charged me several times in the same month when previously I made single monthly payment. I have called ECMC about this matter 3 times. I have yet be called back. To date ECMC has overcharged me $875.00. May 3, 17, 24, June 1 and 7. I would urge anyone who deals with ECMC not to use paperless billing!

				School loan

I have a delinquent school loan. The Educational Credit Management Corp. hired DCS to collect the debt after ECMC went to the Dept. of the Treasury to collect the loan by garnishing my social security payment. DCS sent me the payment papers and my wife and I sent the paperwork back to them. After a couple of weeks, they sent me a letter saying that I could pay 74.00 per month for 9 months and then the loan would go back to ECMC for repayment. I made the payment and found out that my social security is still being taken. After calling DCS and talking to Jessica, she transferred her to Matthew, who after talking to her transferred her to a manager. I have told my bank to refuse payment on any request for payment from them. ECMC will not talk to me about the loan because DCS has it. I am making two payments on the same loan. With the reduction in my social security, I cannot make ends meet. They also told my wife that they can take my pay and my social security. I have also filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission, who told me that if they see a pattern, they will begin a procedure against them.

Scam and horrible to deal with

When the market came down I didn't have a job and did everything I could to pay my student loan but if you are a day late they essentially triple your interest, double your balance and garnish your wages and not by a few dollars they take HALF! You call them to work it out, they call you names, talk down to you and are VERY rude. They will hang up on you if you even stand up for yourself.

I'm ask all folks that have any problems to post on here to tell your story. They have to be more reasonable. To get your garnishment to stop you have to pay on top of your garnishment! How do you do that when they take half of your paycheck?

				comprising people personal information

it is just a shame that ECMC let someone break into their warehouses and steal people personal information and them they tell people they don't want to ensure their credit is not used or their identity. I think they should compensate people for allowing something so terrible to happen.

				stealing from my credit card

I made my monthly payment via check as required by the loan agreement and bill they sent me. Then they charged my credit card for the same amount. neither my cc company or ECMC will do anything to credit back the money they stole.

				Beware of harassing phone calls

Beware of the number 651-221-0566. It is a fake corporation that tells you that you owe them money from a student loan. Do not answer their call or buy into their marketing tricks. Contact your local attorney general or law enfocement agency. Also make sure to send them a notice to stop contacting you. Especially beware of David Peterson of ECMC he is very sneaky and will continue to bother you and will never give up. He is the prime example of an American loser.
