Scammed
Around 6pm about three months ago, April 2011, my boyfriend and I arrived at our apartment. We got out of the car and two younger looking girls, maybe just out of high school or in college, ran over to us and said hey we need to talk to you well be right back. We were weirded out, and went inside. We came back out to get something out of the car and they came over again.

One of the girls looked to be about 20, she was super energetic! And started saying she was raising money to go on a trip and so she needed to know what kind of jobs we had. So if we had a certain job she could get "points" from her teacher for it. There was another girl with her who looked about 18, and never said a word. Which was kind of weird...
She went on and on about it being a competition and never told us what she was selling before she even asked if we wanted to buy in. So I asked and it was for magazines!
I've read the same story on this web site from a man in California.
THE SAME STORY! She was a fast talker as he had mentioned in his complaint, and felt weird about the whole situation as we did too.
Basically its a scam and we never received our magazine subscriptions, that we payed them over $100 for!
The receipt has a website that leads to no where with no information and no contact numbers.
Don't fall for this, they got my neighbor too!

Magazine Subscriptions
This is another warning about the Dynasty 211 phony subscriptions. I'm in Bakersfield, CA and a guy very similar to the description of "Joseph Robins" posted by SOLsister came asking for the magazine subscriptions. It may have been the same person-about 5'6", blond, not heavy but built, blue eyes. He went by "Mike, " though, as opposed to "Joseph."

I don't have anyone living with me, so I didn't have any other person to tell me when their BS alarms are going off. He had the trawling accent, claiming he was from Texas. He introduced himself as "Mike, " saying he was selling magazine subscriptions for his high school. He looked kind of old for high school, but I didn't think anything of it because one of my high school friends had *always* looked older than high school. I asked if it was BHS, and he denied it, but didn't give me any school or even name the one he "was from."

He kept going on about the points or getting a chance to travel or help out the military. He also mentioned that my neighbors upstairs had bought a couple subscriptions. When I saw the amount they were asking, I thought it was a much higher subscription fee than I remember ever paying, but figured since the magazines were "donated, " and it was for an expensive trip, they upped the price. I signed up, gave him the check, and he left. This was around 7, maybe 8 in the evening.

I thought about it later, and the whole thing seemed kind of unreal. I ended up waking up at 4 this morning, still thinking about it. I came to this site because it has served me well in a couple other situations, and read SOLsister's entry earlier this month in Sunnyvale. It's not unrealistic to be in Sunnyvale on the 11th and Bakersfield on the 16th. "Mike" also said he had been working on this for about 4 weeks. I just wanted to get the message out as quickly as possible. This 211 company moves fast and has fast-talkers. Be careful!!
