THIEVES!
Hired them to move me from Florida to Nevada. Loaded things on truck then tried to charge extra 600.00. Loaded my brand new 3000.00 flatscreen TV upside down on truck, and when asked to be careful, said that depended on tip. When items arrived in Nevada, my TV was missing. After 2 months of of lies, I never got my TV OR MONEY TO REPLACE IT. They are liars and thieves. BEWARE!!!

Update on my moving situation
Destination movers inc delivered my items on October 23rd 2008. Over half of my items were missing and so i called the company a day after delivery and asked if they knew why or where my belongings were. I was told by the representative Ana that I needed to send them an e-mail of what was missing and she would call down to the warehouse and have them take a look. At this time I also asked for a full refund which she told me i would need to fill out a refund form and then they would issue my refund. I was never sent a form for the refund nor did i get a call from Ana about my belongings. I had called back and she told me someone was suppose to look for them on November 7th 2008 and again she would call me back which she didn't. I called over to Destination movers over 2 weeks ago and when i spoke to Ana she told me the same thing that she didn't know anything and that she would call me when she does. I then asked to speak to Max who is suppose to be the manager of Destination movers and he wasn't very helpful either. He did inform me that i had to send in the certified mail my list of belongings that were missing not over an e-mail like i was told in the beginning. I was placed on hold for over 20 minutes at a time and was transferred to Ana and another man named Ruben. Ruben took over my call from there he asked me what my job number was, what my address was, etc... He then told me according to my inventory list we didn't have that much stuff as we are claiming we had and i said i know i was very upset by how blank the list was. He told me He would look for the stuff in his storage area/ warehouse and then call me back. I told him i was also interested in getting a refund and he told me he wouldn't do that until they looked for the stuff first. He also told me he promised he would call and he has not called. This company has ripped me off for over $1800 worth of stuff and i am extremely mad that they are getting away with this.

Important information please read
IMPORTANT INFORMATION. This was sent to me via e-mail from a reliable source:
According to the FSMCA website Destination movers have had their interstate transportation authority revoked. They do not have their required insurance on file, so this could mean a couple of things. Typically, one of two things occurs when this happens. Sometimes a company's insurance just lapses, and they have to renew their bodily injury and property damage insurance. The federal regulations require that they have $750, 000 on file. Good companies never let this happen; however, clearly Destination is not a good company. The other thing that often happens in this type of instance is that the company is going to file for bankruptcy. We often see this type of company receive numerous complaints against them, file for bankruptcy, and then simply open under a new name and continue the same scheme. Its difficult to know at this time what is going on with Destination.
This person has agreed to keep me informed with what is going on as i will with you. Please contact me immediately at [email protected] or at 520-797-1022
Thank you very much and good luck to you god bless.
Andrea Carlson.

Liars, Thieves and Scam artists!!!
I don’t even know where to begin! My wife and I moved from NY to CO on May 15, 2008. We looked for a moving company that would move us cross-country while we drove across. Unfortunately, we found Destination Movers. They were scheduled to arrive on Wednesday the 14th to pick our stuff up, but they encountered delay after delay, and although I was promised two to three times that they would be there “no later than” 5:30pm on Wed., they showed up at our house at 10:30pm! They were not finished packing us up until 2am, knowing very well that we were leaving to start out cross-country drive at 4am!! Then the fun REALLY started! What started out as a “good deal” priced at $2, 500 quickly DOUBLED at 2am, once all our stuff was on the truck and we were all exhausted, the bill was now $4, 900!!! We had no choice but to say ok. Well fast forward 5 months, our stuff was just destroyed! My wife had antique dresser and vanity that was just ruined!! My dresser is still missing but the mirror somehow made it! My wife’s clothes are still missing! They stole all my Paintball gear! OUR MATTRESS AND BOXSPRING ARE STILL MISSING!! Get this, they delivered a brand new mattress to us that did not belong to us and the driver Ron said to my wife “just keep it and don’t say anything”, CAN YOU BELIEVE THESE PEOPLE!?!?!?!?!!? We wrote on all of our boxes FRAGILE in big letters on every side and they still came smashed with holes in them! These people have avoided us like the plague and have just simply said we don’t care we have your money and tough luck! PLEASE DO NOT USE THEM UNLESS YOU WANT A SIMILAR FATE! Max, Anna, Erika, and Mike Moore all just seemed so disinterested and cared very little that we have not had our mattress for over a month and 5 days! If any one has any suggestions please email me [email protected].

I was scammed and now i am mad
My boyfriend and i hired destination movers to do one simple thing and that was to move us and they couldn't seem to do it without causing a lot of stress.
They were violating a bound contract with us stating in there fine print that they have by law 21 days to move items from the east coast to the west coast from the time the consumer calls and basically says "okay go a head and ship it".
We called the 29th of September 2008 it came on October 23rd 2008. I had called them on September 29th 2008 to have them begin the moving process. We have been very complaint to the movers demands and have sent them half of what we owe them to begin the very process.
We were moving a small 1 bedroom apartment from MountRainier Maryland to Tucson Arizona and had only 2 days to get a mover and find transportation to Arizona so it was extremely stressful.
On May 29th 2008 the day we had them pick up our belongings they were extremely late and did not come at any time they quoted us.Their excuse was there was heavy traffic in west virginia that day.
We had explained to them we were on a timed bases and it was crucial they fallowed within our timelimit. We unfortunately were not present at the time of pick up, we had no choice but to leave our belongings behind in hopes they would keep their promise to pick up our stuff. We had gotten a phone call later that evening stating that they were unable to get into the apartment building, when we had already called and told them exactly where we had hidden a key for them to get in. We had called them to confirm if this was in fact true and they told us it was not and that they had gotten into the building and have our belongings and are waiting for us to tell them when to deliver. We had told them we would call as soon as we had all the money we needed to complete the transaction . We asked them how we were suppose to pay them since they did not show up while we were there, they in turn told us to pay in full on delivery and that's what plan we were going on.
We had asked about if they had storage for us because we needed at least one month before we had all the money and that night we had hired them they told us it would be $100 a month first month was free. There was no mention of late fee's or having to pay month to month for storage. That being said when we called to have our stuff taken out of storage and begin the delivery process we were told our amount due to them was $1500.(remeber we had orinially been estimated $1000.03) We argued to them that it could not be $1500 and that we should only owe them $1300, (4 months in storage at $100 a month and the first month was free so $1300) . This is when the manager got on the phone and claimed that we owed them for late fee's(that we did not know about) because we didn't pay them month to month. When we spoke to the manager he was willing to bring it down to $1400 but after sending a payment of $750 to him he changed his greedy mind and told us it was another $750 at delivery. I stress that we had no idea about any of the late fee's/ month to month payment. Had we known about them it would have probably saved us a lot of headaches.
We finally got tired of arguing with them about it and we just said enough and verbally said to them we will pay $1500 now please send our belongings. We had called them a few days after sending the money order/ cashiers check to verify they had received it and everything was set to go which they replied to me it was on its way. I had been dealing with one of there representatives Ana who had kept saying "its on its way, it should be there with in a few days, and it was to arrive on a Tuesday or Wednesday." Lets just say this is one of the many lies we were told.
Our items never showed up on the Tuesday or Wednesday she claimed it would, so again I called them the fallowing Monday(to give the truck extra time to get here) and I called them back and said hey wheres my stuff? They again gave us another story claiming to have truck problems and that the problem was being fixed and was being sent out that night, and that it would take another week before it got here. Needless to say it still had not shown up.My boyfriend had called and talked to the manager himself and he claimed we were not on the delivery list at all. So we didn't really know what to believe.
According to www.ripoffreport.com we are not the only ones who have been scammed by this company. I couldn't even begin to tell you how rude there customer service people are. They have lied to us about things numerous times to my boyfriend and I and we have been put on hold for more then 20+ minutes just to find out that nothings changed that it was still "on its way". Not to mention they have hung up the phone on us many times and when we call back they would disconnect the phones and pretend we called after hours.
There needs to be something done about this company or they will continue to rip off/ abuse people. I encourage you to take a look at some of the claims posted on ripoffreport.com.
On our account Nothing was ever signed on anything we agreed to, It was all done verbally on the phone there were no e-mails sent except our initial estimate of $1000.03. and one conformation e-mail stating we paid them $750.
We had received an e-mail from max the manager on Wednesday the week of October 22, 2008 stating that he was told by the driver that the driver was trying to contact us and that he had called our phone 3 times and no one answered. This is a bold face lie because i am home 247 and i know who calls and who does not call.We did attempted to call the driver who had been extremely rude and made a comment of "tell Ana (from destination movers) to have your stuff personally flown to you because it isn't my problem anymore." I was crushed thinking i was never going to see my stuff again.
We called destination movers over 20 times and each time they either never picked up or if they picked up they would put us on hold for over 20 minutes at a time forcing us to get mad and hang up. We did finally get a hold of max who claimed he was going to get into contact with the driver and then give us a call back. lets just say we never got that call. I finally had to have my mother call them and ask them if they would be willing to send out our stuff the fallowing day (Thursday). They had tried to scam us out of another $200 but once they realized they couldn't and wasn't going to get $200 they dropped it but, they did end up delivering the next day.
on Thursday at 1:45 pm October 23rd, 2008, we finally received our belongings well most of them anyway. We had also found that almost all of our boxes were trashed and luckily for them nothing was broken. there was one box full of my good silverware that was opened and it looks like some of the utensils were missing after inspecting them nothing was found missing. We had also received a tennis racket and vacuum that had our delivery stickers put onto it but it wasn't our items.
I have a list of items that i did not receive with my delivery
such as 13 inch tv (tube not LCD)
Computer (cables, monitor, mouse&keyboard along with tower)
a single 4 drawer dresser
comcast cable box (We had agreed with comcast that we were to send it back once we had gotten to Arizona)
1 cordless telephone
A foreman grill
electric can opener
electric 4 cup coffee maker
A box full of shoes and 2 umbrellas, scarves, mittens etc..
1 or 2 boxes of books.
A box full of dishes (cups, plates, bowels etc..)
1 chair
1 love seat
1 twin mattress and box spring.
We are still trying to figure out if there is anything else missing/ damaged.
One thing that we noticed so far was minor damage to my tv stand and all that needs to be done is tightening and some scratches need to be repaired.
I know for a fact i am not the only person nor will i ever be the only person this happens to and if you were to take a look at www.ripoffreport.com you will see that there is 30 bad reports about this company not a single good one and they all basically say the same thing. What is sad it either the wives of the managers or the managers themselves have put comments on the website either trying to make themselves look good or filed a rebuttal towards the person that filed against them.
There trying to rip people off one way or another.
We have contacted Destination movers and told them all the goods we are missing and we asked them to check and make sure it was just forgotten somewhere. We also asked them to give us names of the companies who have been in contact with our stuff and we also asked them for a form for a full refund none of these things has happened. I did manage to write on each of my boxes what was in it and our address of where it needs to be delivered so that if someone did accidently got it delivered to them they could send it to us or find out our number and give us a call and to also avoid a thing like this happening.
When the driver was here to deliver he actually seemed shocked by my experience and he confirmed to me that the items that are missing were never loaded onto his truck. He had also informed me that when they tried to get into contact us the day before he had been forced by Destination movers to put our belongings back into a storage unit. We were then aware that the document we had signed (the estimate) was not a real contract and that I guess by law we had to have been present at the time of pick up to sign this contract or what they did would be considered stealing/theft.
We had also been aware that the complaint we sent to the BBB had been closed due to a "no comment" back from Destination movers. one more thing we are aware is Destination movers had originally been known under another name and back in 2003 was forced to shut down due to too many complaints filed against them. They some how managed to reopened under Destination movers back in 2007. These people do not move items themselves they contract and sub-contract other companies to do the job for them.
These [people are experts of conning, stealing, manipulating and thievery. They are not expert movers. They don't really know what they are doing and it shows by there staffs lack of knowledge. They are extremely rude and manipulative and will try anything to get your business. Now they are trying to ignore all our requests of trying to get our beloved belongings back.
I had called and called and called and begged for them to find my stuff or give me a full refund and i have yet to hear anything from them.
They need to be stopped and run out of business for good but what else can i do? I feel as though we are stuck with no options. Thank you Destination movers for making my life a living hell!

extortion & hostage of your belongings
Similar to everyone. They pull the bait and switch. Offer excellent friendly service and pull you in with great prices.
First mistake:
give them your deposit
2nd Mistake
THey pick up your stuff:
they now have half of your deposit, your belongings, and charge you for packing materials and additonal fees and you cant do anything because you have to move out.
Final mistake:
Either Pay them up or they dont deliver your stuff. You risk losing half your deposit and your personal belongings and you sleep on the floor for an entire month.
thats what happened to me, do let this happen to you!

BIGGEST SCAM OF MY LIFE! but a great learning experience.
I am 19 years old and I have just had the best experience of my life thanks to Destination movers. We were moving from Mount Rainier MD to Tucson AZ. and it all took 6 months for the move WOW that's so fast!! We were being evicted from our apartment which is awesome because I was out of a job due to a great shoulder injury from Target. whats even better is they gave us only 2 days to be out wow isn't that nice. So strapped for money and almost out of time we had no choice but to go with whatever the lowest price was.
This company was just awesome they estimated my boyfriend and I a quote of $1000.03 which we were stupid enough not to refuse. They told us they were going to be at the apartment for pick up between the hours of noon and four. They never showed up but that's okay because they were stuck in traffic. So out of time we had to go get on a awesome smelly greyhound for 2 days to go to Michigan to catch a train we rode for 3 days through Texas. To make matters even better we get a phone call around midnight from them saying they couldn't get into our apartment. But we told them exactly where the key was so they just must have gotten confused. We called them the very next day to find out if they ever got in to the apartment they said yes and that they were waiting for us to tell them when to deliver. We never got a contract from them in the beginning but that's alright because they said it was going to be okay and that the estimate we got was the contract. We had asked them how we were suppose to get our money to them because it was super important that we did that right away we were told to just keep it until delivery AWWW how nice of them. We had also asked them about where they were going to put our stuff until delivery they told us they had storage for a great price of $100 a month and that there giving us one month free. Its awesome that they never told us we had to pay month to month or there would be late fees geese i wanted to give them more money that i didn't have.
After my boyfriend worked reaaaallllyyy hard to scrounge up $1300.00 we called them on September 29th to set up delivery, we wanted to make sure that $1300 was all we had to give them and they told us no it was $1500 i told them thank you for racking up my price but i don't think we could afford that they basically told us TO BAD but it really wasn't because we were just FULL of money that we just wanted to spend on them. They asked us oh so nicely to send them $750 to be placed on the delivery list and that they should send it out within a week. THAT'S SO AWESOME!!! A week passed and i didn't get my stuff but again its okay because there was "truck problems" and it was going to take another week. Oh how i enjoy being lied to and manipulated for 3 weeks straight. Its great not knowing where your stuff is and when it will be here and if they even have it at all makes it more frustrating and stuff. Finally we get an e-mail from our pal max, and he says that we need to get a hold of the driver because he was trying to get a hold of us and he may have put our stuff back into storage YAY!!! get this the driver didn't have our number silly me i only gave it to them 3 times. so after calling the driver and being told it wasn't his problem anymore we gave max a call who told us he would make it all better and call the driver himself. after being hung up and how i love being put on hold for 20 Min's we just left him alone thinking maybe he was just really busy.
later that night my mother calls the driver and somehow gets him to deliver the next day I don't know how she does it. They deliver the next day at a great time and they seemed to be better then the destination movers people. I love the part where I'm missing half my items got a couple of other peoples items and was forced to pay them the rest of my money or they would drive away with my stuff. the items include nothing too important to us
Computer
tv
phone
comcast cable box
shoes
books
dresser
can opener
coffee maker
1 chair
1 mattress
1 love seat
not to mention some sheets/ blankets we used for packing.
I just loved how great care they took on my stuff my boxes look way cooler smashed then they did square.
But its okay because we can afford on a Target salary to replace those things pay my parents and his parents back and have food and cloths oh and cant forget those awesome bills i now have to pay to comcast. Things were just the greatest and now i cant seem to get them to give me back my money let alone get anyone to help me. The BBB has been so cool to they closed my case after Destination movers didn't reply back to them.
Listen please do not get fooled by these people like i did and if you already have that sucks ass and i know how you feel. There really isn't anything we can due except try to sue/ report them but good luck you will have to get a lawyer in Florida if your plan is to sue. This company was actually licensed under a different company in 2003 and last year signed up under destination movers for doing what they are doing now. These people will get theres someday because Karma is a Bitch!
Please e-mail me if you have any questions.
