Theft
A person named Douglas Williams who claimed to be the owner of D & Y Friendly Movers advertised with a flier in my apartment for trusted and insured moving service. I saw the add the leasing office of my apartment and decided to use it. He presented himself very well and asked for half of the payments before bringing in the truck. I didn't like the idea but, I caved in after he showed me his Fed I.D. 38-3628905 and business card with U.S.D.O.T.#1406344. I gave him the money and he gave me a receipt with his information on business card. It all sounded very convincing to me at the time. But, he didn't show up the next day at the time he we agreed on. I called him and he told me that he is having a problem. I believed him and waited and waited and waited...I'm still waiting for my money back. But, he stopped answering his phone and he never delivered on the service I paid him for. So, my advice to all of you out there, never trust any moving company. Don't pay them until they deliver the product. They are all thieves. I ended up using a Uhaul and Budgets truck after that. That's the best way to go. Don't fall for a thief masquerading as a moving company. By the way, I've submitted a complaint to BBB and they couldn't get hold of him. So, the case is never resolved. The most interesting part is that the Southfield, MI police refused to do any thing about it. I came to believe that Southfield Police is getting a bribe from the thief. The bottom point is that both the moving company and Police departments are not to be trusted. Live long and move your stuff yourself. Don't rely on any company to do it for you.
