Cooking Club - America Reviews

Scam and cheating!
I asked Cooking club of America to cancel my membership and stop sending me $30 books that I had to mail back to Minnesota if I did not want them. When I asked them to cancel they gave me a "permanent" membership, whatever that is, but I think it is an excuse to send me more $30 books. Don't get suckered in like I did. Avoid getting involved with this company. Scam, scam, scam!

Poor service!
Cooking Club of America treats their "members" as a captive group in which they can send unsolicited merchandise, such as trinkets, calendars, etc., without the prior approval of the member. They then expect you to repackage and send it back (with an enclosed postage paid label) or send a payment for the item. I have sent things back the very day and I 3 weeks later I receive a letter requesting payment or to return the item. 3 weeks is long enough for them to receive the item. Besides, I am under no obligation to return it. According to state law, any unsolicited item, can be treated as a gift. My gripe is that I thought this "club" about cooking, not buying overpriced merchandise. I receive mailing after mailing of "exclusive member offers". It is frustrating to receive an item that I didn't ask for and then have to take time to repackage it and send it back. Each time I request they do not send any more merchandise. From now on, it goes in the trash and I dare them to come after me for non payment.

Poor service!
I received a letter from a collection agency, claiming I signed up and owe money to the "Cooking Club of America." I did not sign up or promise to pay for any club and the collection agency (RMCB- Retrieval Masters Creditors Bureau) does not to seem real, although they seem very anxious to get my social security and credit card numbers. I have not received any free merchandise, other than a $100 "Gift Card," which is nothing more than a card telling me to send it to a service in exchange for coupons, which I never did. Although the mere mention of "Collection Agency" makes me more than a little nervous, I have a feeling this is a big scam. Cooking CLub of America has a website, but it's impossible to navigate unless I sign up as a member (which I haven't and do not plan to), and there is no way to contact them, either by phone or email. They even spelled my name wrong. not sure what to do, but it pisses me off that I have to deal with this type of crap that I never asked for.

Scam and cheating!
I have never received any free gifts or magazines which they supposedly sent me. I guess my imaginary evil twin sister sign me up in this club to make my life hell. They have sent me to a collection agency to collect $24. They stated that I have not responded to their letters. What letters? I wanted to contact them via web site but I need to sign up for a "free 30 day trial", nice try.

Beware!
