Stay away from them
I made a $4, 000. plus purchased from Conns on Saturday through a very humble employee at Conns. This man has been so humble to my wife and I in the past that we refer all family and friends to him, in which all have made large purchases. After the credit approval, we got all the paperwork and informed the employee that we will pick it up on Monday since we was moving in a new place and would this our last stop during the move, in which we did. We went back into the store on Tuesday about 6:00 p.m. to thank that young man for all his help and was informed that he had been suspended because he didn't get the license plate of a U-Haul truck of customer on Monday. Luckily for us, we were that customer, who picked up the furniture in the U-Haul and was informed by the U-Haul truck company upon return of the truck that it was missing and must have fallen off. I say that to say this, if there is anyone who know how to get in touch with the very tall gentlemen at Conn's on Wheatland in Dallas, please response to this complaint, my attorney is waiting to talk with him. There is no way he should have been suspended, fired or what-ever-the hell they call it and my wife and I along with others is going to make sure he have our support. If it was that big of a deal, then they should have call me and I would have gave them the license number to the damn truck, it was on the rental agreement, and this is information I got from a Conn's employee who also thinks they were wrong and it was unjustified. So response my attorney and I are waiting.

They will ruin your excellent credit rating
We purchased a washer, refrigator, and stove from Conn's on August 14th, 2009 with the 18 months interest free billing. A double payment was made August 28th. Payment was due on September 15th. We have received three phone calls and a number of hararassing letters stating that our bill is "past due". We went to the store where the items were purchased and took a cancelled check for that payment. Each time we call, the payment has been recorded but we are still receiving letters that indicate that our "bad" credit will be reported. We are waiting for one more letter and will be gladly returning all of the items to the store. I would advise anyone, do not purchase anything from Conn's. They will ruin your excellent credit rating as they are doing ours. This is the second complaint about Conn's. The first one, the unprofessionism of the sales person should have been an indication of things to come.

customer service
purchased a steam washer and dryer from conns 3/25/10. On 4/11 the spin cycle stopped working correctly so we called LG and they told us 4 days to come out to look at it. Called Gary the mager at conns grapevine tx location where we purchaes and explained to him that a 2-3 week old $1000 appliance should not malfunction after 14-20 days and that LG was VERY UNHELPFUL. He said as it was Sunday he would take care of it Monday and call me back OF COURSE THAT NEVER HAPPENED. After many calls to the store I reached him and was give the old bullshit "was just about to call you". He explaine d that he had talekd to a regional manager and that service dept would call me the nest morning (tues) THAT NEVER HAPPENED. My wife then took over this and called Gary many times at the store until finally reaching him. He as normal pawned it off on everyone else saying some crap about the service manger and regional manger know all about it and would call us. THAT NEVER HAPPENED. Needless to say my wife left SEVERAL SEVERAL SEVERAL messages (all in a nice manner) without a single returned call. Now 5 days later we are still dicking with this bullshit. I HATE CONNS and will NEVER buy anything from them again. In fact I hope those scumbags go out of business. OH!!! But the way they WILL NOT take the washer back under there return policy (NO WHERE DOES IT STATE this is an exempt item or anything else) Conns MAKES UP RULES AND POLICIES AS THEY GO>! I will be filing a complaint with the BBB and the FTC as well.

No one has been able to fix it
I purchased a washer and dryer. The brand is Samsung and I have had 3 service men from Conns come out and see the washer that shakes. No one has been able to fix it. Conns says that Samsung has to fix it. I bought the expensive extended warranty from Conns and have had no luck getting it fixed. Three service men from Samsung have also came out and now the machine will not even start. I have spoken to different people at Conns and every says it is out of their hands. DON'T PURCHASE FROM CONNS!!! I am still playing phone tag with them.

Billing and False Reporting
On Sept.12, 2009, my husband and I went into a Conn's store to combine our separate accounts into one. In order to do this, we were told that we had to purchase a new item. We did this. Not even 2 weeks later, we received a phone call from the store manager and we were told that we needed to sign a new contract because the first one was not done right. We did and then less than a week after that we had to sign yet another contract to officially combine everything into one account with my husband as the primary and me as the secondary.

We started to receive collection phone calls and letters on a daily basis. one day during the second week of October, I received a phone call at 8:01am from a representative of Conn's stating that a repo man had come to our home and that our home was vacant and no one was home. I told her that either she was misinformed or that she was lying because my son and I were still asleep inside our home. She then quickly changed her story and started to try and get me to pay for our past due account. Needless to say, I repeated my story as I had and would continue to do about 3-4 times per day to a live person from Conn's. After giving my side of the story to each representative, they would then say that they could see the notes on the account and that they would again notate the account.

The week after Thanksgiving, while my son was in the hospital, I received a call that said that we needed to make a down payment on the account to open it and make the new combined account active. This was a day less than 2 weeks before our first payment was set to be made. I told the lady on the phone that there was no way my husband and I could pay a down payment in the same amount of our payment 2 weeks before our payment was due. The lady got the down payment moved to our payment date. This payment was credited to my old account, not the new one.

Eventually, in December, I finally spoke to Mrs. Nettles in the finance department. In the beginning, she told me that she had the wrong amounts and that they needed to verify my information before completing the new account. This was also when the payment mix up was discovered and fixed. I received an envelope in the mail an envelope with my husband's account information and the account information of someone with my married name in Houston. I even received her SSN, address, home information and other information that I should not have received. I immediately called Mrs. Nettles and told her about the mistake. After she looked up the correct information, she realized she had everything she needed to complete the account set up. We received a payment book about 2 weeks later that said our first payment was due January 2010 for 264.65. We made our payment, yet we were receiving the phone calls and letters to no end.

We still have no resolution after 6 months. My husband's and my credit is severely damaged by their erroneous reporting to the credit agencies. I still talk to someone from Conn's at least 3 times a week. My husband's accounts are closed but his credit is not fixed and my account still shows open and with a pending amount due. We just today, received a phone call on our new account as is we are past due according to them now. When we made our payment in the 19th in the store at NW LP 410, we were told we were not due again until March 19th. I even spoke with Jancee, the store manager who has been trying to help us since the old manager got transferred, who even saw that our next payment due date was not due until March 19, 2010. There are many other problems that have occurred throughout the past 6 months such as me having to fax in our copy of our contract 3 times at our cost, (they now want it for a 4th time), phone calls to my husband's work that harasses my husband and his boss almost causing him to get fired and my time on the phone that averages almost 3 hours per week for the last 6 months.

UNAUTHORIZED CHARGE TO BANK ACCOUNT
I WAS CONTACTED BY A CONN'S REPRESENTIVE FOR THE FINAL PAYMENT ON MY ACCOUNT. I TOLD THE AGENT TO CALL BACK THE NEXT DAY THAT I WOULD GIVE HER A CREDIT CARD PAYMENT.
SHE SENT AN ELECTRONIC CHECK PAYMENT UNAUTHORIZED TO MY BANK WITH OUT MY PERMISSION. THIS CAUSED AN OVERDRAFT ON MY ACCOUNT. MOST OF ALL SHE DID NOT HAVE AUTHORIZATION TO CHARGE MY BANK ACCOUNT. I AM TURNING THIS MATTER OVER TO THE FRAUD DEPARTMENT OF MY BANK.
BE CARFULL WITH COMPANY THEY WILL CHARGE YOU ACCOUNT WITH OUT PERMISSION.

Do not use this company, unless you are looking for a trouble
I had a zero interest loan with conn's and paid off the balance before the 6 months were up. It just so happened that Conn's did not credit one of my payments. When I found this out I faxed over to their "research department" a copy of the check that they cashed. I'm not sure why but I was told it takes TEN (yes ten) business days to review the check (even though clearly on the check was the routing number and record number they used to cash it). I called in frequently (six times) to see if it was updated and to ask if I could speak to the department myself but was told that the research department was separate of their location. To no real surprise ten business days came and went and no resolution. I called back today and asked for the manager and the manager said to call back during the morning hours because the customer service department can WALK OVER TO THE RESEARCH DEPARTMENT to get an update.

My finance charge has now kicked in and I'm concerned that it might affect me when getting credit for a future purchase in the near future and the rate that I get (car). Since I still have an outstanding payment, that has a high interest rate, my credit score might not be what it was before. Not to mention I was lied to and told that the "research department" works somewhere else.

If your looking for a company that has a good customer service experience after the sale or are looking for a company that you can make multiple purchases for in the future do not use this company.

Stay away from this company
I happen to live in a home where a client of Conns lives. The client works three jobs to keep a roof over his family head and someone some food in the home for survival as well as other bills. He will often times pay a flat amount, more then the required amount and will skip a month when his overpayments equal or are close to the amount of the next payment. While I don't agree with this practice, the folks at Conns Collection department call between 6 and 10 times daily beginning at 8am CT and the last call generally around 9 or 10pm. The messages are very general and ALWAYS automated. When I come home in the evening or god forbid if I ever want to sleep in on a Saturday or Sunday I am either bothered by having my phone ring and pick up to listen to one of three clearly Conns automated messages or come home and listen to 6-10 messages on my machine. I called the customer service line today as the most recent message told me to just to be treated extremely rudely by I suppose a team leader or supervisor. I was telling her about my experiences and she said is there anything else and cut me off. Had she continue to listen to me she would understand my frustration, but clearly she reall didn't want to know if there was anything else. I happen to be a call center professioal, first a CSR, then a supervisor and now in quality control and one of the first rules is to allow the caller to speak. Never interrupt. Conns is bothering me everyday of the week multiple times a day and they don't give a crap. If the person they are trying to collect from is late or owes a partial payment (one time they called because he owed less than 4 dollars they need to chill. They aren't going to go under because a customer who has been a customer for over a decade may owe $4.00. So after the call was terminated by me today, almost immediately the phone rang and it was, guess who, Conns asking for the debtor. I told them the person they were looking for was not here and she asked for a "better" contact number. I advised that I was not at liberty to provide that information and hung up. I get so tired of the folks who choose to be hardasses. I could understand their harrassing behavior if this was someone who was pass due 30 days or even 15 days, but all they have to do is look at a payment record and figure out what this person does. I tried to tell the rude team lead or supervisor, that I had considered puchasing a computer for my daughter from them but that I refuse to do business with a company that harrasses a household over a $4.00 balance. The debtor has purchased mattresss (twice) and a washer and dryer as well as a dish washer. I will be very upset if he chooses to continue to do business with them once he pays off his balance.

No customer support
I purchased a new Frigidaire washer and dryer from Conn's McAllen, TX store 11/23/08 - took delivery 11/25. The washer has NOT operated properly to date (12/15) Two service calls later and I'm still waiting for a part to arrive by 12/23 - a MONTH after paying over $1700 cash for these units and I still do NOT have a functioning product. Do NOT buy from this company that has NO customer support!!!

Fraud
I went to make a deposit to my checking account today, only to discover it was overdrawn! Conn's without my permission, sent an electronic to my bank without my permission. The account was not more than 3o days deliquent, and further my son paid the monthly payment in December. They not only ran a check through on 1/6 and 1/12, it looks as though the did it in December as well. We have had several problems with Conn's in the past, posting payments to the wrong account and HORRIBLE customer service. Drawing fraudulent checks on my account is unacceptable and I have contacted the State Attorney General's Office for assistance. According to the customer service rep today, it has been a common practice lately. BUYER BEWARE!!!
