Deceptive Practices
On September 3rd, I went to Conn's to purchase a washing machine. The salesperson assisted me in selecting the LG WM2101HW. He informed me that Conn's matches prices and he volunteered to check BestBuy's website on the computer. He pulled up a website he stated was BestBuy, showed me and stated the same washer was one hundred dollars more at BestBuy, so I was getting a good price there at Conn's. I was concerned because the BestBuy website he showed me did not look as I remembered it, so I pulled up the site up on my PDA and saw the same washer advertised for one hundred dollars less than Conn's price at BestBuy. I showed the salesperson the price on my PDA, he then immediately said, he must have made a mistake entering the model number and they would be glad to match BestBuys price but first he needed to get check to see if it was in stock and then get the manager's approval. He made a phone call and told me it was not in stock. I told him that could not be correct because the site listed it as available for pickup today at the BestBuy across the street as well as available for delivery. He walked off to speak with someone else, returned and said I would have to take their damaged floor model washer. I asked him why and he said, the manager would not let him match the price and he didn't know why. I asked to speak with the manager. A salesperson, who stated his name as Frank the manager on duty approached me and immediately said, "I don't have to match prices today because I just don't feel like it and it's my decision, I don't care what our advertisement, policies or the other salesperson has told you, it's my decision today and I'm not going to match that price and I don't have to give you a reason". I asked if I could speak with someone else over the store and his answer was no. I left Conn's and went to the BestBuy across the street. The salesperson I met was the person originally contacted by Conn's and she informed me that me she had told the salesperson at Conn's the washer was in stock and available. She even gave me a printout of their inventory, showing it as available in store and warehouse.

violation of warrenty
We purchased several appliances at the end of June from Conn's in rosenburg TX. The LG diswasher started making noise about 10 days after we got it. We call service. They sent someone out and he said he would have to order a part after he tightened a screw so tight it brock the plastic case in the bottom. some time later a second service man cam out with the wrong part. Then a third time with wrong part and a forth. We then requested to talk to the service manager Sergio. He didn't can back. So we tookthe dishwasher back to the store and left it. The manager of the store said she would have someone contact use. Finally three days later Sergio called us and said he would straighten it out and call us back on Thursday. No call. In the ean time service called and wanted to schedule a service call. I told them the unit was at the store and Sergio knew all about it. then two days later they left a message that they were coming out a 1:00 to our house to repair it. It is Friday and I called service to talk to Sergio. He had left for the day but would be in tomorrow.

I am about ready to call the TV stations, drive to Beumont to corp headquarter and video tape their answer to not servicing their profucts. If that doesn't work then I will hire a lawyer and siut for breach of contract.

Bad customer service center
There customer service center is very rude. If your account is late they call you all day and night at home, work and cell. The also harass your references, too. Then if your account is late by two or three payments and you call and make a payment the steal it and apply it to extension fee, which is $75 and they don't tell you. You just wonder why balance not going down, until you someone in the store explains extensions cost and don't bring down principal. You say no thanks, and they say you have 5 already on your account. Then you call customer service dept and they act like you knew and they won't take them off. They even save your check and credit card info and post payments sometimes without your authenization. This just happened to my on 7/28 and it is 8/11. I have faxed my bank statement and copy of check twice, my checking account is getting more overdrawn but they don't care, they say there accounting process takes time, even though they stole from your account.

Damaged Property
My laptop kept shutting down so I took it back to Conn's to get it repaired. A week after taking my laptop to the store the service department called me and informed me that when they received my laptop the vents were cut out and the fan blades were cut, the power button was messed up. I told them that they had the wrong laptop because mine did not have a hole in it.I refused to pay the 200 dollars to repair it since I did not damage it. when I went to the store to look at my laptop there was a hole by the fan vents and strip across the front by the speakers was also dented. Conn's denies damaging it and refuses to see how it was damaged and claimed it was like that when I dropped it off. I am now receiving 8 or more calls a day from Conn's, sometimes 3 an hour. Every time I talk to someone they say they will try to help and will call me back but they never do.If anyone else has had property damaged by Conn's please e mail me at [email protected]

heartless
I cannot believe how heartless Conn's can be. On the day my mom died I was at the hospital, I had transfered my house calls to my cell phone so family could get in touch with me. I recieved a call from Conn's wanting to speek to my mother. When I informed them that she had just died, they wanted to know if I could make a pament for her. I was so upset that I begain to cry. My brother had to take the phone. When he told them to $*@* off, they only responded with " you don't have to use that kind of language, all we need is a payment now". I will never ever deal with Conn's again PERIOD.

I will never be going back to Conn's
I was supoosed to have my dishwasher delivered on Friday after 2pm. Conn's showed up at my house at 10am and wondered where I was. Rescheduled the delivery for Saturday. Installer called at 2:45 Saturday, said he was on his way. Gave him my complete address with step by step instructions. I called dispatch at 5:45 wondering where he was. Installer said he would be at my house in 30 to 45 minutes. Called dispatch again at 7:05 pm, this time installer said he didn't have my address and it was not his area. Called dispatch again Sunday morning and spoke to supervisor who really didn't care either but said he would TRY to get the dishwasher out to me that day. It did finally arrive after I had wasted 2 full days at home waiting. Monday morning I called the District Manager and this is Wednesday and he has yet to call me back. Needless to say, I will never be going back to Conn's. I will stick with Sears like I should have done in the first place.

Tried to scam me for $ 500
I bought a washer / dryer set from conns in august of 2009, applied for 0 % for 18 months which was approved. but i decided to pay it in full via credit card. but now 8 months later i get this letter in the mail stating i owe them some $ 500. called the customer service # and the guy tells me that my account is still active, and i need to make payments. WHAT A JOKE CONNS IS . THEY WANT TO GET PAID FOR THE SAME PRODUCT TWICE.THEY MUST BE HARD UP FOR MONEY, I WILL CONTACT "BBB".

They will scam you for your money
I purchased a laptop computer from Conn's in 2006, price was around 1800.00. After all the paperwork was complete the balance came out to about 3200 that is with all the bull!@#$ warranties and insurance. I must not have been in my right mind to make such a foolish purchase. In 2008 I was in need of a refridgerator, I went to Conns to get it, as I only had like a $125 bucks at the time and they were my only solution for a fridge fast. Well that stupid purchas plus my roll over balance came out to a wopping 4550 balance. Now again, I couldn't see why the balanced was so much for 2 items. They never told me that if I had home owners insurance that I did not have to purchas theirs. They made it sound as if I would not be safe and secure with my purchase without it. They also never mentioned the fact that if you are late on your payment and your purchase is in need of repair they will not go and fix it even though you have paid over 5000 bucks. If you take the products back, they still want you to pay for half of it, depending on the condition, so they can sell it back to you guys as "Fairly New", right. I am going to try to put a stop to their unfair act on consumers. I cannot believe that they have gotten away with so much theft from all of us who buy from them. By the way, my battery on my laptop never worked and even though I am still paying for it, they will not replace it because the $300 warranty I bought with them expired in Oct 09'. Go figure. I am going to get with the attorny general. I am paying close to 8000 grand for a laptop and refridgerator. It's not even stainless steel. I hate CONNS.

Do not honor their warranty
We purchased an 60 inch television with a 3 years warranty services agreement. From day one we've had issues with the television and Conns has serviced the TV 3 times now! Conns warranty policy says that if they have to service your product 3 times for the same problem that they would replace the product. Now ask me if I have a product replacement... NO!

Deceptive Sales and credit practices
Credit and Advertising practices are deceptive. I bought washer and dryer on sale totaling 1044.00 with tax if I had paid in cash. I financed with supposedly 18 months no interest. They forced me to purchase a $200 property insurance policy. When I received the payment coupon book the coupons total up to $1, 800. They are charging me $550 in interest. I should have just charged the appliance on my home depot card where I would have had no problems. What a terrible company! It is in the business to rip off poor people who have to buy on credit.
