No complaints here
I could not have done my move with out this team. First of all I would like to thank Lisa, she was so nice when I had questions on the day of my move. My salesperson Sara, and the foreman on the jon Ben. These people made me and my husbands job soooo much easier. Thank you again for being a reliable, well staffed and caring.

OVERCHARGED 4 times
This is the biggest rip off I have ever encountered. We were quoted $850 as the sales rep went through item by item and knew EXACTLY what we had. When the movers showed up (18 HOURS after the time quoted) the told us they would need to charge us extra for shipping materials and extra space. When I got the bill it was $3200!!! When I called to complain, Ben, the dispatcher acting like this happens all the time and said we could just give them our stuff instead of paying, very casually! We could not afford to pay because we did not budget for four times the quoted cost, so now all of our possessions are probably in the homes of this company's employees. PLEASE DO NOT FALL FOR THIS AND BE A VICTIM LIKE WE WERE

moving and storage
This is the worst company ever to deal with. We had our things in storage and paid extra for CLIMATE CONTROLLED STORAGE, but yet when the stuff was delivered...it looked, felt and smelled like it went through Hurricane Katrina!! Mold covered everything, things were wet, missing, broken, every box was smashed, dented, ripped open, clothing wardrobes were open, wet, smashed. You name it, they ruined it. And on top of that, they even stole a few items that never showed up. Even the two young men that delivered the stuff were in shock over the condition and they told me that this is how they picked it up out of storage, so I know they didn't do it that day!!! Aside from that - it was to be delivered one day and of course it never showed up and took tons of phone calls to get AVI to answer and he said some garbage about truck delay but it really was probably an OPPPPSSSS holy crap-- look what happened to their stuff kinda thing. He deserves to get back what he delivered to the public and i am working my hardest for him to get just that.
They talk real nice until it comes time to deliver, then they no longer answer their phones.
AVI in particular is one you need to watch out for. He is a scammer from the word go.
I am in the process of getting an attorney to take this over as it is a crime what they did and what i have just read that they did to others the same thing.
They are in breach of contract to every letter of the law but they think they are untouchable because they think we will give up due to expenses. But since I lost over $10, 000 worth of items to trash, they will be on my hit list til my last breath.
We will be able to get them, they used to do business as Globus Van lines /storage and then changed corp names..gee I wonder why and I wonder what they will change to now?
They can run but they cannot hide. Anyone that wants to discuss this, just let me know.
I am fighting this as much as humanly possible, they are the scum of the earth and that is putting it mildly.
They count on us giving up. I think they just ran into the wrong person.

Moving company damaged almost everything we own
There are no words to accurately depict how outraged we are with Compass Van Lines' services.  When it came down to them and a competitor, they reassured us that the truck will leave as soon as it is packed. Our customer representative told us over the phone that outside of weather and road conditions, the truck should be delivered on Thursday (June 25th), Friday at the latest, however the truck didn't even leave until Thursday.  I moved for a job and I very nearly lost it because of their tardiness, not to mention the loss of a week's worth of income due to their delays.   So many of our items are either broken or damaged beyond use that I must conclude that they are at the very least outrageously neglectful, or were deliberately and intentionally breaking our stuff. On top of that, several items are missing, including the essential cross-boards to our baby's crib.  Now she has to sleep on the floor until we can buy a new crib, which we would be able to do if they hadn't robbed us of an additional $1, 700 on top of the quote.  We were misled (if not outright lied to) about far too many aspects of their services (i.e. insurance, delivery, professionalism, punctuality).  I strongly feel that we were taken advantage of with bait and switch tactics.   Before delivery, we informed our rep's supervisor of our dissatisfaction in being charged an extra $1700, not to mention the $675 in packing supplies they tried charging us. My wife and I diligently packed all our stuff, but they claimed to have used 80 rolls of packing tape and charged us $4/roll, and $15/box. The smaller items they threw (literally) into larger boxes, which was unnecessary, and charged us for 15 boxes when I can only find 4. When we called, they were in no way willing to do ANYTHING about it.  Now after receiving less than all of our items, many of which in poor condition, we're way past dissatisfied. The additional $1, 700 would have been easier to stomach if not for the negligence and unprofessionalism, or I could have stomached the horrible service if they weren't robbing us of all our money.  We've slowly accumulated these items over 5 years and in one week they managed to destroy so much of what we've built up, and we haven't even unpacked everything yet. There is absolutely no excuse for the condition in which our stuff was returned to us. Compass Van Lines' care over our items was at the very least outrageously neglectful. Over the phone we were reassured by our rep, that everything is insured up to $10, 000, however only after everything was loaded did I find out that it is only $0.40 per pound, per item. So essentially, even though we have over $2, 000 in damages, we'll be lucky to get back $100. For most of the packing, I purchased 60 plastic bins from Home Depot (because they were only slightly more expensive than cardboard boxes and we could reuse them) and nearly all of them are unsalvageable. The cardboard boxes we did have now more closely resemble brown paper bags full of broken garbage. So to recap, Compass Van Lines robbed us with bait'n'switch tactics, lied to us about their services over the phone, stopped answering the phones when we wanted to know where our stuff was, delivered almost a week late, broke nearly ALL of our plastic bins, boxes, and contents of those boxes, lost 4 items, ruined essential parts to my $3, 400 office furniture (mainly due to water damage), and are completely unwilling to rectify the situation.  Avoid these crooks at all cost. You will be much better off doing it yourself.

Overcharged and mishandling
I hired Compass to move my furniture from Florida to NY. Once an agrred price was set they contacted me later and wanted double. Once in NY they wanted to charge me for another van to bring in the furniture because the block wasn't big enough. They were told they could have the furniture, once they heard that they were in front of building within two minutes. Then the guy called and wanted 75.oo because it was more than 75 feet from the truck. These guys suck, i am sorry but there is no nice way to put it.

Moved and stored my belongings did not return all
I contracted a move from Bradenton Florida to Winter Park Florida, starting October, 2007 with my belongings going into storage for one month, and delivery the day before Thanksgiving 2007. I did all paperwork, lists and contracts via the intrenet. When I signed the ppapers on the day of the move, the movers tagged and counted all items. They also charged me for packaging supplies for several items I did not have prepared. When they delivered my items to Winter Park, the moving crew did not speak english, only one could be understood, they did not check the tags, nor count how many items were returned. When they said I needed to sign the reciept papers, that everything had been unloaded, is when I discovered my 3 month old flat screen tv was not returned to me. They told me I would have to file a complaint. I called and left a message, they returned my call the Friday after Thanksgiving and said they would check the warehouse. They never called, so that following Monday, I finally got a hold of the manager and he said that there was nothing left in the warehouse, but he said things may have gotten mixed up seeing as they only use cardboard to seperate peoplers belongings. He then gave me the telephone number for thier insurance company. They called me and told me what they needed from me and said that it would be as long as 90 days before they make a decision. Well, past the 90 days, I called them and they said they were waiting on the moving company, asked me questions on what was missing and broken, they then asked me if I had my orginal contract and the moving papers that I signed. I said I had the contract and the moving papers but not the recieving papers. They told me to make copies and fax them to them. I did this. Within two weeks I recieved a letter stating they were going to reimburse me 179.00 for 280 lbs of missing items. This is a joke seeing as I filed a complaint for over 4500.00. They have no idea how much was delivered back to me and my tv was less than 3 months old and worht over 2000.00 new. I have called them 4 times to try to bring this to arburtration, but can not get anyone but the receptionist. I need help with resolving this, Please.
