We applied for a "free" credit report only to learn that we had been charged for 11 consecutive months for a charge of $12.95 on our credit card. The charge was cleverly disguised and we kept thinking it was for a web domain for our home business. Of course we are to blame for not checking our charges more carefully.
When we called to complain, they told us we never canceled after the first free month.

SCAM...SCAM...SCAM...

Like most of you who have already posted, I was charged fees under the name Triple Advantage without any intention on my part to sign up for the service. This subscription and purported service resulted from my efforts to obtain a free credit report from freecreditreport.com. When I tried to cancel, the operator tried to cross-sell me on other products. I was informed that they could not refund me any of the fees because they were "valid."

Freecreditreport.com is owned by ConsumerInfo.com, which in turn is now owned by Experian. There are thousands of reports to the Better Business Bureau regarding this same problem. A class action lawsuit occurred in 2003 and resulted in a nearly 1 billion dollar judgment. This obviously did not encourage the company to refrain from this deceitful behavior. Perhaps a more direct appeal to the source of the problem is appropriate.

The founder of ConsumerInfo.com and CEO of the Experian Interactive Division of Experian is Ed Ojdana. I recommend that each and every one of you who reads this message, and is dissatisfied with the way they have been treated, email Mr. Ojdana at [email protected] or [email protected]. Let him know that consumers do not appreciate his condonation of such practices and demand a refund. Continue emailing him until you receive a satisfactory response. Do not let him hide behind the corporate structure that is designed to steal your money. If you find his phone number, I would love to know it. I have been unable to find it to this point.

My complaint is that i do not know this company and have not authorized any charges on my visa account.

I decided to review my credit report with ratings. I paid $ 19.00 for one time credit report and that is what I originally desired.

About a month later my bank account was directly billed for $12.99 by CIC. It took me a while to find out who is taking my money from my account as to my knowledge I did not agree to participate in any membership.

The website is quite confusing (apparently) and the customer service representative was very argumentative and rude, when I called to cancel and questioned the "membership" I never signed up for.

I would not recommend their services to anybody. Even during the time of my "membership" I was unable to access credit report with rating.

I knew nothing about this until I received my monthly statement. Found out that they do this when you request a free credit report. It is nothing but a total scam and they will be reported to the Attorney General in Florida and California.
