Unauthorized charges!
This is absolutely ridiculous! I do not know when nor how this company got a hold of my information but they've been charging my card for about 6 months now. Unlike some unfortunate people on here, I did NOT sign up for their service. I am, however, wondering if another company that asked if it was OK to do a credit check on me used these guys, giving them my information. In that case, I am extremely irritated! I have canceled all of my credit cards, changed bank accounts etc. since I now do not know who out there has my information. All at MY expense. CIC happily canceled my 'account' with them, however would not give me a refund. I don't know how to officially report this and am assuming it will waste my time and money, but am hoping that if people band together this can be stopped. In response to a post on the main page, this is NOT a slanderous remark and you can sue me if you like. This is FACT. End of story.

Scam free credit report
I went online for what I thought was a simple Free Credit Report for $1 and I have almost $100 charged to my bank statement, of which CIC charged me for signing up. I called them and they refuse to offer any refunds as they say I agreed to the charges. DON'T USE THEM!

Report credit card lost
I had to report my credit card lost to get rid of CIC triple advantage. I found this much easier then talking to their customer service department.

freecreditreport.com scam
Like many others on this site, I once went to freecreditreport.com to get what the TV commercial advertises - a FREE credit report. I viewed my report and never thought about it again. This was about a year and a half ago.
When $12.95 a month started coming out of my checking account under the name CIC Triple Advantage, I had NO clue what it was, and the bank wasn't able or willing to provide any further information. I could not even figure it out by typing it in online.
Finally, about five months ago, my bank statements started showing what looked like a phone number next to the company's name. So I called the number.
I won't even bother telling you what this call involved because you would not want to read all of it. The important thing is that I told them that I wanted to cancel this service I never requested. A year ago, on the website, it did not state clearly (like it does now) that you'll be charged every month after your free first month. Instead, it was likely only in the User Agreement that was 6-point font and 83 million pages long that NO ONE reads.
It did ask for my credit card number, however, it stated that it was ONLY for verification of identity. In hindsight, I suppose this was stupid on my part, since they shouldn't need something like that for identity verification when they are going to get my social security number. But I thought it was legitimate at the time.
Anyway, the lady said I'd get a confirmation e-mail within 2 days. I never received it.
I have since been charged every month and have thus called every month. Every time I get the same story. So I called today and the rep said there was NO RECORD of ANY of my calls. Plus, he said that I have accessed my report several times since I signed up. I very politely told him that their records were not matching up with my recollection of how this has gone. I asked for a refund, and he said that all charges were non-refundable.
I then asked to speak to a supervisor. He said I'd have to write a letter to request a refund. I told him that I didn't think that was a fair option because I was sure all I would receive was a generic form letter telling me that they would not issue me a refund. So he put me on hold for ten minutes. When he came back he told me that his supervisor had authorized him to refund one month's worth of charges.
I said, "First, I asked for a complete refund, not just one month. Second, I asked to speak to a supervisor. I would like to talk to him myself."
He said that the supervisor was on another call. He asked me for my phone number and said the supervisor would call me back. I said, "No thank you. I would prefer to wait for him on hold." The rep told me he could not do that! I said, "So, you had me on hold for ten minutes while you talked to him, yet now you cannot put me back on hold so I can speak to him myself??" He said, "Well, we just don't do it that way here." So I gave him my phone number.
Then he asked me if there was anything else he could help me with today. I actually laughed out loud. That statement implies that he helped me AT ALL to begin with.
For everyone's general knowledge:
1. DO NOT go to freecreditreport.com and sign up for ANYTHING.
2. If you already have fallen for this scam, call 1-877-481-6825 and hope for the best.
3. If you want the free credit report that you are entitled to once per year, go to annualcreditreport.com.
Good luck everyone!

Unauthorized charges!
I was rejected for an additional increase in a fuel card for vacation purposes due to two accounts in 2002 for helping relatives. The accounts were paid off by me but it was noted on my credit record. After receiving this news I went on line for a FREE CREDIT REPORT and received a notice after one month that my account was being monitored for fraud. I contacted TRIPLE ADVANTAGE and request a cancellation of this service. This was a few months ago. The only way around this is too report a card stolen, receive a new card and not notify TRIPLE ADVANTAGE. Time consuming but you are in charge. Bill Sibley.

Unauthorized bank transaction!
This company took $25.90 off of my debit card, without my approval. I did not know anything about this company and I am having a hard time trying to talk with a human to get this taken care of. This is a scam. So be careful...

Unauthorized charges
I paid $24.95 for my 'free' credit report and have now been billed $12.95 from my checking account. This monthly charge was not authorized by me and I need to find out how to stop it.
Beware people!

Unauthorized billing!
I received a 12.95 charge on my checking account from CIC Triple Advantage. I had never heard of the company and knew I had not made the charge. I went online and found out that this is a credit "protection" plan and it was automatically deducted from my account after visiting "freecreditreport.com" I called the company at 1-800-388-8725 and in four minutes had my account canceled. The representative tried to say it was in my wife's name but after I "insisted" he cancel he did.
