Misleading advertisement that should be illegal
I fell for the advertised "Free credit report" and requested it through freecreditreport.com. I should have spent time reading the terms of the service, but I hope my lesson will be a warning for you.
I got my free report from this website. Two months later I noticed two charges from "CIC Triple Advantage" on my credit card in the amount of $12.95 per month. I contacted my credit card company but they said nothing they can do. I then called 1-877-481-6826 to cancel my membership I signed up for without realizing it. It seemed the monthly charges have stopped and the "free credit report" cost me $26.00.
So, before you enter you billing information, take the time to read what's on the left side of the screen of their website.
And it says the following:
"When you order your free report here, you will begin your free trial membership in Triple AdvantageSM Credit Monitoring. If you don't cancel your membership within the 30-day trial period, you will be billed $12.95 for each month that you continue your membership.

Scam charges
I wanted to check on my credit score so I visited CIC because they offered a free credit report. A week later they charged me a 14.95 dollar fee for that report.

Billed without knowledge
I was billed the last two months without my knowledge. I called when I was first billed and they said I had to cancel earlier to get a refund. I couldn't call earlier since this was the first time I was aware that I was being billed without my permission. This month they billed me and then a day later refunded the amount. I think they were hoping I would think this was the refund they promised last month. Again when I called, they said I didn't let them know early enough so I couldn't get a refund for last month. In addition, after cancelling last month, they still billed me and then later refunded the amount. I'm going to have to watch next month to see if they bill me again, and if they conveniently forget to refund my money or not.
This is a major SCAM. I have also filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Please spread the word!

Unauthorized Charges
CIC Triple Advantage has been charging both my husband's and my bank cards for services we have not registered for. Each month they charge anywhere from $11.95 to $14.95 for EACH card. To date, they owe us $123.55 as a result of these fraudulent charges. A claim will also be filed with the BBB. CIC Triple Advantage does not have any contact information available in order to stop the charges to my account.

Unauthorized charges
My Chase credit card account was charge $15.88 for the months of May and June. I did not authorize charges with this company and don't know even what "services" the company provides. I have notified Chase of the June charge and they told me about a charge in May, which I hadn't even noticed.

Charges for services not oredered
It's apparent that Experian does not comply with the Fair Credit Reporting Act. I attempted to order my annual free credit report. Access to free credit reports online are seamless & transparent for Equifax and Transunion. Not so for Experian. Not only is it difficult (read impossible) to simply access your report without jumping through a series of endless hoops, they appear to be running an online scam as well. This month, after attempting to get my free credit report from Experian, my credit card was charged for three subscriptions for credit monitoring by "CIC Triple Advantage." When I called to dispute these charges, I learned that CIC Triple advantage is a "Experian Consumer Direct" company! My, my, my. Not only does Experian not comply with the Free Credit Reporting Act, but they also scam the consumers.
I'm writing every regulatory agency I know plus the congressional oversight committee to put a stop to these crooks.

Unauthorized charges
This company said i went to their site and signed up for some triple advantage thing . i never have been to their site and called them to see what the issue was and was treated terrible and spoke to very unprofessionally, they have some smalltime telemarketing company taking their calls with no help. No supervisors on duty, and hung up on me once. I asked for my money to be put back on my card immediately and they said no it cannot be done.

unauthorized charges on my debit card
every month have been getting unauthorized charges from my debit card. i am on a fixed income. did not authorize this to be taken from my debit card.this has been going on about four months or longer.i just get paid once a month.

Charge on credit card
I went online and paid $1.00 for a 7 day trial membership so that I could get my 3 in 1 credit report. I got my report threw Credit Adapter. I also cancelled the membership before the 7 day period was up and printed the cancellation page out and also had a cancellation email sent to me as a secondary measure to ensure I had proof of this. Two days after the 7 day trial would have been over I saw a charge of $14.95 from my bank. I immediately called and spoke to someone who said that they were with Free Credit Report.Com I got my credit report through them. I explained that no my credit report came through Credit Adapter and this guy continued to badger me saying that I pulled my credit report on 6-7-2009 and that it was through free credit report or experian and it cost 14.95 and it was non refundable. I then went on to say that I was online looking over this site that was showing other peoples stories ablout this same company was scamming them and charging others 15.00 and they were not authorized to. I started reading off the dates of peoples reports of the scams and I told him that I wanted my money back on my card immediately and he got very angry and said that it would be back on my card in 10 days.
