Repeated charges for cancelled service
Today I received a invoice for the second year in a row for the hosting of an election website that I had in 2006. After having my credit card automatically charged $119.60 last year, I was informed that I had not given them the required written notification that the "small print" required. Despite issuing the prerequisite written request and receiving an acknowledgment and confirmation tracking number, I am have again received another invoice for this service. This is in addition to their charging US dollars by a Canadian company for Canadian hosting, the use of exorbitant exchange rates (20%) while the Canadian dollar is at near par and their insulating themselves from phone calls by using voice messaging and referral to using email despite listing a 1-800 number on their website. My advise to potential customers; stay clear and cancel your credit card if they get your number.

2nd year they have charged me without permission
Two years ago, we agreed to try a web hosting company called Canaca from Toronto, Ontario. They charged our account accordingly. We were not happy with their service, and cancelled after a few months. The next year, they sent an email asking us to renew our service with them. We refused.We had not even had access to our website in months anyway. They continued to send emails asking us to renew; we continued to tell them no. Then they just charged our bank account anyway. I was furious and attempted to contact Canaca. They never answered our phone calls, messages, or emails. After well over a month, I asked our bank if we could do anything. They sent us a paperwork, and charged us $10.00 to fight it for us. Then we got a notice from the bank saying that it had been too long, and they could not get our money back. We were upset, but what could we do. I never thought about it again - until TODAY! I went on my bank account tonight and saw that I had bounce two payments! I had calculated carefully, and could not figure out how that happened, so I investigated. There was CANACA again! They charged me $66.70! For what I do not know. We have had no service from them in a year and a half, and no contact with them at all! I am so mad! I can little afford these charges, and certainly not the NSF fees on top of it! How can I stop these people? They should have to pay all my bounced check fees too! How can companies keep taking money from us like this without our permission?
