I arranged with Camel Rock Movers for a removal on Saturday 22 Aug. I paid my deposit a week before and they were suppose to arrive at my address in the morning. By 10am I started to phone their office. The person I was dealing with, Willem Arendse, wasn't there and the person on duty said he couldn't get hold of the driver, who was suppose to have had arrived at 8am. This went on and on - the driver didn't answer his phone and no solutionarrangement was offered. I myself tried several times to contact the driver - no answer. Eventually we agreed that if the driver didn't arrive by 2pm, then my deposit of R400 would be paid back. After 2pm I phoned the office again and their representative said I must send my bank details, which I did (by fax and email). I'm still waiting for them to repay me. Even worse, at 3pm on Sat. I tried one last time to get hold of the driver. This time he did answer. He had no idea who I was, said Willem made no arrangements with him and that he was on a farm somewhere very far from Jo'burg. So basically I paid for a service that was never going to happen and now I can't get my money back - that's theft.
