Two years ago I purchased a Braun carrier top because my twelve year old one didnt work anymore. That one wasn't a Braun it was made by a local company who has now been forced out of this business because BRAUN is such a LARGE CORPORATION. Today I had to spend $156 on it because they said the snow and ice had seeped inside the carrier top and frozen the parts inside. I asked the local company that does the mechanical work on my carrier top what could be done and they said I needed to come in twice a year for $156 to get maintenance work done. Insurance does not cover any of this because they say it is not a medical necessity so I have to -pay out of pocket. I already paid $3800 to buy it only two years ago. The only thing that protects water or snow from coming in is a small piece of rubber. By the way I live in VERMONT THERE IS ALWAYS SNOW, ICE, AND RAIN IN THE FORECAST! I would like to ask the CEO of Braun how he/she would feel if they or someone they loved were trapped in their car because the product they paid $3800 for wouldn't open. May I remind them that cell phones don't work everywhere. Our lives should be protected by more than a piece of rubber. If I were trapped in my car last week with no cell phone service I would have had to contend with 23 degrees below zero until someone found me. I wouldn't be so upset except for the fact that I had my other carrier top for about 9 yrs and it never broke down due to weather conditions. SAY NO TO BIG CORPORATIONS WHO CARE MORE ABOUT THE BOTTOM LINE THAN THE SAFETY OF THEIR CUSTOMERS.
