I purchased two "new" Salem travel trailers, One was a 37 foot and the most recent purchase was a 2009 Salem 39 foot park trailer. The owner, David Galleon filed bankrupcy for BlueBorder in Swansboro, NC (now Carteret RV).I also purchased a extended warranty and paid cash for the trailer so it was not financed. After one year even before David Galleon filed bankrupcy, he claimed that my warranty was over.Contacting the Consumer Support or Better Business will not do you any good because he filedbankrupcy.
Both slideouts on both trailers leaked within 2-3 years and the trailers were never moved over 2 times and did not exceed 120 miles total distance of travel. The windows leak and flood the particleboard or OSB flooring and other sales and service places may tell you it is not OSB and it is.It will rot!I eventually put my foot completely through the floor while making the sofa sleeper.I only weigh 118lbs.Well the technician caulked the window on the outside and I was suppose to be satisfied with that.
I cannot get a call through to the headquarters and the local and new owner does not agree that my extended warranty is no good because I did not purchase the trailer through them although they are a Forest River Dealer.
