I recently stayed at the Beau Rivage Motor Inn, located at 9601 Atlantic Ave. Wildwood Crest, NJ. Two days after I returned home there was another charge to my debit card for $100.00. I contacted the motel and they told me the charge was for damaging the carpet. The carpet was damaged when I arrived, I assumed the motel knew about it so it didn't inform them. They said the maid told them that I damaged the carpet. There was a burn mark from an iron on it. When I denied the damage to the manager he stated that it was either me or the customer who stayed before me. I guess he decided who to pick and charged me. For all I know the maid damaged the carpet. It's her word against mine. How do I know fight this charge? It's amazing that people can charge others any amount they wish at their leisure.
