I initially received a cell phone offer from BCS/ATT Wireless several years ago and began service in July 6th 2003. I have since kept service with ATT until their merger with Cingular at which time I upgraded my plan and phone on November 11th, 2004. I am now getting calls at my workplace from a collection agency stating I have a past due balance of $150 due to early termination of service.
I have contacted ATT and they show zero past due balance or any amount written off due non-payment.
I have sent letters of dispute to Equifax, Experian, TransUnion stating these facts and including the so called telephone number to BCS which is an #800 meet girls hotline as well as their internet site, BCSWS.com, which also does not exist. I also faxed a letter of cease and desist to the collection agency with a copy of the dispute to all three major credit reporting agencies.
This is a major scam and if anyone could point me in the right direction as to how I should go about getting this removed from my credit, it would be greatly appreciated.
