finger printed to cash check
Bank of America in Bayonne, NJ required they finger print me on the spot to cash a check since I did not have an account with them.
"Open an account, " said the bank manager, and no finger prints.
The teller actually placed an ink pad on the counter for me.
I cashed the same check a few weeks ago, a state government unemployment check.
I walked out and payed 2% at a check cashing agent.

BofA closed all of my accounts
Recently my wife called Bank of America to see if we could lower our interest rate on our account. She mentioned that she just went on disability and wanted to see if we could get our rate lowered since we have been a customer for 10 years with them.
Once she mentioned disability the rep forwarded her to risk management who immediately closed all our Bank of America accounts. Risk management said they routinely perform checks on all account holders and decided to close our accounts on the spot. The truth is they never checked our accounts until my wife called that day. They claimed they ran our credit to make that decision. Our credit scores are 700 plus and we have never missed a payment or been late.
After hearing that from my wife I called and spoke to a manager. The manager was extremely rude and didn't care to listen or explain why they closed our accounts. He said if I had a problem with the decision I should file a complaint and they stand by the decision that was made.
What happened to the days when you could walk into a bank and feel welcome. I will never again do any business with Bank of America and hope others never go through what we went through.

Obvious rip off
Juniper sold to B of A, couldn't pay either on-line as neither site would accept payment. Spoke with BofA "you don't owe anything this month." Today received call from a cred coll agency. They say I am in arrears. They want last month's payment which I sent to other creditors. NEVER BELIEVE THIS HOCKUM! I proceeded on my merry way and now have BofA claiming I missed a payment. I think this might be a scam. I'll send them the money due but I HATE the way they treated me..and so HATE THE BASTARDS...

Overcharged
Bank of America posts transactions largest to smallest. Not in the order by the date the transactions occurred. We had made a few transactions on Saturday night and on Wednesday we accidentally made an atm withdrawal that overdrafted our account by $3. Ok fine, we would get a $35 fee. Wrong! They posted the transactions from largest to smallest. If the transactions were posted in the order that they were made, we would have received on fee, but instead we received 4! Then our direct deposits did not post on the day it was received. That never happened before.
What I get from this whole mess, is that Bank of America posted my transactions to get the most fees. So we received $140 in overdraft fees. And a negative balance on our account.

Crooks of America
Bank of America should really be called Crooks of America. Their industry made-up fees have really gotten out of control. I am looking at one of my many statements where finance charges were $211.30!! They say that when i first used the card that I was at 0% interest, and after reviewing my old statements, they lied. On one statement they charged me 1, 500 dollars for finanace charges. Hope they fold like chase did.

- Life Insurance scam
I had been getting a lot of sales calls to buy Life Insurance by people saying they were with Bank of America. I told them I was not interested in Life Insurance since I have it through my job. However, they said that their insurance might supplement what I have through my job and they would send me some information and sign me up. I told them they could send me the information if they wanted to but do NOT sign me up. They did anyway. Then they started debiting $29.99 out of my checking account every month. I called BOA to cancel and they said that BOA does not even offer Life Insurance. However, they do sell customer's information, including their account # and Social Security #, to various private insurance companies. I eventually did get a packet in the mail from a company called National Union Fire Insurance of Pittsburgh, PA. The entire packet was in SPANISH. I found someone to read it to me but she could not find a number anywhere to cancel. So I looked up the company online, called them then had to argue with a very aggressive girl for like 20 minutes before she finally canceled the insurance. Before she agreed to cancel she also told me I was a bad parent for canceling and that she would give me 2 months free if I kept it. I just had to keep saying NO over and over again. I never did get a refund for the premiums they took out of my bank account w/out my permission. And I still get the occasional call from "Bank of America" trying to sell me life insurance, even though I am on the state-wide DO NOT CALL list. So I think this is a scam if BOA ever calls you to sell you insurance just hang up!!

Ripped off
I have had an unhappy relationship with Bank of America virtually from the beginning. However, their customer service people would always help me, in the end and take care of Bank of America's indiscretions, although it would usually take hours on the telephone. This time is different and I have had enough. I have had multiple occasions of Bank of America posting debits before credits, even with my having time stamped receipts. Bank of America then refunds some overdraft fees, 'as a courtesy, ' but will make me pay up to 4 or 5 fees myself. I have paid over $1, 000 in fees caused by bank error. This isn't even my latest, most upsetting issue.
I recently (two months ago) made a deposit of $800. I then wrote out 5 checks against this deposit (totaling about $300-$400). Well, Bank of America decided to place a hold on this deposit without notifying me of the hold in any way.
Then, Bank of America decided to return all of the checks that I had written out against the (little did I know) held funds. Then, Telecheck and Certegy charged returned check fees directly to my account resulting in 7-8 overdraft fees. I received refunds from Telecheck and Certegy directly via paper checks (their policy). I was told that when a check is returned to them, they receive a 'report' giving the reason for the return. If a check is returned due to held fees, typically a returned check fee is only charged if after redeposit of that check still is returned. Both companies cited that the fees shouldn't have been charged an gave me refunds.
So, basically I am told something different depending on who I speak to at Bank of America, but the most common thing that I have been told is, if your account is overdrawn due to an unauthorized charge which is refunded, Bank of America refunds any overdrafts incurred from it.
Well, I faxed over copies of all of the paper checks to a supervisor in Claims by the name of Dawna who has decided to blatantly ignore my fax and subsequent 3 phone calls and voicemails. Every time I call, I'm told that Claims needs to handle this and will adjust the account and when I get over to Claims, I am told that if I have already received a refund, I don't need to enact a claim (clearly). I am then told that there is nothing that can be done.
My account is now -400.49. I have re-routed my direct deposit to a new account that I hold at PNC Bank, where I am much happier, thus far. However, I am receiving phone calls from Bank of America on a daily basis threatening to put my account in Check Systems at which point I will not be able to have a checking account anywhere until the negative balance is resolved. I'm going to attempt to contact Bank of America once more after work today, but I doubt anything will come of it.
I have been told that I would have an excellent case for legal action, which I cannot afford... :0) Thanks for any assistance in this matter.

Scam and lies
Bank of America credit card services lied about a repayment plan that was to have me pay a larger sum of money than I could really afford in order to have interest and late fees taken off my account if I reached a goal. Instead, when I reached the goal, none of the interest or late fees was removed. I made the increased payments for three more months with the credit card services people telling me to wait another month whenever I called.
I felt like I was being strung along and probably was while those who lied to me were getting reinforced to do so by bonuses and rewards for getting their stooge to pay more per month than should have been necessary.

1 800 number/fraud dept
Here is my story:
One day 3 years ago, there is a car loan that pop out in my credit report. At that time I did not have the time to clean it out. I have written to the 3 credit bureus, and they have investigated, but Bank of America would not clear my name. Now, I finally have the time to follow thru with this.
I have written the Plaza associates and called them as they are the collecting agency that the Bank of America gave the loans to. They referred me back to the originator of the car loan.
Then I filled a dispute from the credit bureu once again.
After that I have fax the same proof and evidence that the car loan is not mine to a supervisor named CArole Olson of Bank of America.
I had no Idea that when I called the 1-800 number, I would have the run around and no one could direct me to their fraud department for auto loans. I spent 4 hrs per day in the past 3 days.
I feel so frustrated about this and I am not sure what to make of it. The receptionist are horrible. Then I found this wbsite which could at least make me vent some of my frustration. I guess this is therapeutic. But still Is there any way someone could help me get rid of that credit report?
