Bank of America Reviews

Interest Rate Robbery
Bank of America raised the interest rate on my credit card from 9.9% to 22% without notice. I checked to verify that I had not paid them late and found that I have always paid more than the minimal due every month and have never been late. I contact them and had the unfortunate luck of being put in touch with one of the most rude people that I have dealt with in a long time. She told me that the raised the interest rate for no particular reason and there is nothing that I can do about it. I asked if there was someone else I could talk with or another department and was informed that no one in the company could do any more than she, but she took my name and number and told me someone would contact me the next day. Still waiting.
Very disgusting company and very rude customer service...Can't wait to transfer my business from Bank of America.
I guess that my tax dollars are not enough and that they decided to send me a bail-out payment each month.

Mortgage
I want to point out to you the orginal sales contract for 4653 Warm Spring clearly showed in the description that the property had a mobile home on it. The Survey clearly points out there was a Mobile Home on he property. These were known to the Bank of America from the very beginning (1-7-09) and again on (1/09-09).
Was this noticed by you or your staff? NO. Instead you darg me out for wekks until the last minute. Finally, on 1-30-09, you asked if this was a Mobil Home. This clearly shows the inability of the Bank of America to conduct their business in a professional manner. It shows the complete disregard for the customer. If I had been told on 1-7-09 that the Bank of America did not loan on Mobil Homes we could have saved a lot of frustration and pain. Incidently, 1 continued with the deal and paid CASH. However, your ineptness and haphazard way of handling this situation has prooved to me there is a total breakdown of professionality with in Ban of America. Because of the way I was treated, and based on this matter, I will be changing to a bank that will show me some respect and consideration. You must realize I have been with the Bank of America for over 20 years, had over 6 loans that was always paid off early. I would estaimate over the 20 years I did over 3 million dollars with the bank.

Interest Rates
I have had a card with Bank of America for over 5 years and have been paying faithfully on my account. I have never been late with a payment but today received a bill saying my interest rate had been raised from 9.90% to 24.99%!!! This is outrageous. I pay on time, every time and yet I am being punished. I cannot pay this new bill. It has more than doubled my bill. They said it was common but they are the only company who has done this. She said she can lower the rate but I can never use the card again. So, again; I am being punished even though I pay on time, every time. No wonder there is so much bankruptcy and foreclosures.

overdraft fees
Please feel free to email me about this complaint because my overdraft came from money withdrawn from my account which makes no sense to me. My email is [email protected]

False NSF' Charges
I want to make this short and quick. Bank of America has a scam going called Check 21 rule. It's a scam that creates "FALSE Overdrafts" You can keep your accounts in the black all you want and it won't mean a thing. They create the overdrafts for you.

IT IS BANK FRAUD PURE AND SWEET!

I'm going to file suit against them asap. If you wish to join this civil suit email me here with your contact info and you will be listed on the suit as a plaintiff against Bank of America. I will make sure that you are contacted by the attorney before the suit is filed. The more people that have the guts to slap them down the faster they will fall.

THEY ARE NOT A BANK, THEY ARE RACKETEERS!

World points
I just received notice from B of A that my credit card account has been closed due to my credit report rating. My credit card has been paid on time and all my credit cards do not have late charges on them. Due to the economy and lay offs my husband has not been working and we have had problems with our Mortgage. Since my credit card is closed now I attempted to get my 12000 points that I have accumulated which B of A said No since it was the company that decided to close the account and not myself. This is upsetting and NOW I do not want to pay them what is due.

Overcharged
I am a student who lives in Lake Forest, CA. I do all of my banking in Lakewood, since I go to LBCC. I was recently checking my online statement, when I noticed that I had been charged 8 overdraft fees for transactions that were still 'pending'; all of which were under $30.00. There was over $300 in my account: basically food money for the next 2 weeks.

I see the fees, and say WTF?! Smack dab in the middle of the page was a solid chunk of 8 O.D. fees, each for $35.00! $210.00 in overdraft fees that should never have been charged. So, I called the bank, and they said that there was nothing they could do. I eventually got them to reverse 2 of the charges, but they 'could not reverse any more because it was beyond their power'. What a load of CRAP!!!

Overcharged
I have 4 overdraft fees each for $35 and there is no explanation as to why this has occurred. I will have to leave bank of america and go elsewhere, i have learned that they do not bank in 'real time' so this leads me to have to find another bank to do business with. I will call them tomorrow and talk it out with them because this was done unjustly and I am sick of making Bank of America rich because of the way they conduct their transactions.

excessive overdraft charge
I was charged an overdraft fee because when I swiped my bank card as credit it created my account overdrawn. Why didn't BANK of america decline my transaction so I would have been aware that I didn't have enough money? No, they want your money. However credit transaction takes 2-3 days to process and by the time it processed there was enough money once it was debited from my account so it my account never went OVERDRAW...BUT THEY STILL ...charged me an $35 OVERDRAFT FEE...how is that LEGAL? I am submitting a complaint to Controller of the Currency. Anyone that has complaints PLEASE SUBMIT THEM TO OCC...

Scam charges
In late December of 2008, my car payment which is made each month to Bank of America was due. Due to time constraints and such, I chose to make my payment over the phone using my debit card from my personal bank. The payment was for $299.88. This was a fully automated transaction using voice recognition. (I hate that.) Anyway, I made the payment and figured that was that. On Saturday, January 3rd, I received an insufficient funds notice in the mail from my bank. It was for a debit card transaction for the amount of $2999.88-$2700.00 over what I had stated in the phone transaction. Needless to say, I incurred a hefty overdraft fee from my bank, and since there wasn't enough money in my measly account, I also have a large late fee from Bank of America.

I marched down to BOA, who I am now referring to as 'Bevy of Assholes', and explained the situation to them. After a ridiculous period of time delineating the chain of events to a rather vapid looking customer service person, I seem to be no further ahead. It seems to have become even more convoluted and incomprehensible. They now say a check was written for the payment of December and it too was invalid due to insufficient funds. No check was ever written for December, which is why I made the damn phone payment. I am now worried that they didn't process November's check payment until they overdrew me for the phone payment MISTAKE, setting me up for yet another late fee, and another ISF charge.

What in the hell are these people playing at?? Its evil petty nonsense, that we all could do well without. I am still in the process of untangling the nasty mess-which is taking up time I can ill afford, as well as tromping on my serenity and messing with my head. Bxxxxxxxs!
