Dues dates on charge cards not accurate
Info: Standard Federal was bought out by LaSalle Bank and then Bank of America bought LaSalle Bank. In a perfect world - LaSalle and Standard Federal Banks were great - in a "cheating world" - Bank of American is the winner! I have a separate 3-ring notebook on charges (scams) that they are fighting me on - though they are legit! The name on my binder is Bank of America "Rip Off Artists in Training" Disputes!
My charge bills were due today and trying to pay them online always worked before - but not tonight - so I called - and a recording said payments made after 4 p.m. will be processed the following day. Well - great! They have been "socking" me for tons of fees - guess we are adding more taxpayer money to cover the taxpayer money we paid to the government. I sure would love to have even a small fraction of the bonus money they paid employees with our money!!! I have never felt so cheated by a bank - guess they have to make money illegally as well as receiving it!!! Kathy

credit card fraud
I have had a Bank of America Visa card for many years. I have decent credit and pay my card in full. Tonight I received an alert about an on line charge. I didn't authorize. 'after 30 minutes on hold I finally get a person that doesn't care that I've been on hold that long. Then he tells me I have to call back once the charge is posted. There is nothing they can do while it is pending!!! So they are going to let a charge go through knowing it is unauthorized. STUPID. Well by then I'm fit to be tied. I ask him if he can cancel my account. He says yes. Do it. He says the account is canceled. They don't have any customer service they don't care how they treat their customers or that they even keep you. So tomorrow I have to call back and be on hold for who knows how long. I think I'm going to move all my banking.

Refuse to relinquish accounts
Bank of America got control of four of our banking accounts by taking over MBNA; we would never willingly do business with B of A. Wrenching our money away from B of A has been the longest and most frustrating financial transactions we have ever encountered. B of A ignores all e-mail submitted through their website. Simply ignores it! B of A also ignores faxes, snail mail, and Certified Return Receipt snail mail! The latter is signed by "R. Jones" -- but nobody knew any "R. Jones" when I called to inquire why my instructions to close an account continued to be ignored. Beyond nervy! The only way you can communicate with B of A is on the phone -- which means verbally with no witnesses and no proof. So even though some fake first named B of A phone employee promised to close my account and wave the bogus penalties fees imposed after the account was ordered to be closed, today (months later after no statements or other communications) I receive a threatening notice from B of A saying that they plan to ruin our credit and lives if we don't pay the ever-increasing amount of bogus penalties plus interest on our long-closed empty bank account. Bank of America, I hate you.

CLOSING ACCOUNTS WITHOUT PRIOR NOTICE
MY BOYFRIEND HAS HAD A CC THROUGH B OF A FOR MANY YEARS NOW AND HAS NEVER BEEN LATE WITH A PAYMENT. MATTER OF FACT IT COMES OUT AUTOMATICALLY EVERY MONTH. AND IS ALWAYS THREE TIMES THE SIZE OF THE MINIMUM DUE. THEY CLOSED THE ACCOUNT WITHOUT PRIOR NOTICE AND WITHOUT A GOOD REASON. THEY SAID THAT WE COULD ALWAYS FILE A COMPLAINT BUT THEY STAND BEHIND THER DECISION TO CLOSE THE ACCOUNT. I HONESTLY DID'NT THINK THAT THEY COULD DO THAT. SO I WENT AND TALKED WITH THE BRANCH MANAGER AND THEY SAID THAT THEY HAVE THE RIGHT TO CLOSE THE ACCOUNT AT ANYTIME WITHOUT PRIOR NOTICE. I KNOW THAT B OF A IS IN FINANCIAL STRESS BUT DOES THAT MEAN THEY HAVE TO PUT THERE CUSTOMERS THERE AS WELL? I WILL NEVER AGAIN AS LONG AS I LIVE DEAL WITH B OF A AGAIN.

CLOSED CC ACCOUNT WITHOUT PRIOR NOTICE
My Boyfriend and I have been loyal customers of B of A for years and have a platnum CC through them. We have always been on time with our payments and have always paid more than the required amount. I was looking on line to see our balance and to make sure that the payment was applied. I noticed that there was no available balance showing.. I then called B of A and they proceeded to tell me they closed the account. Why? They said they didn't need to give a reason. They had the right to close it if they needed. They told me to file a complaint if I so wanted but it would not change their decision to close the account. I will never deal with them on any level ever again.

Check scanners on ATMs
The new Bank of America ATMs have check scanners for deposits. They are TERRIBLE! It used to take me a minute and a half to deposit 10 checks in an envelope, and now it takes 5+ minutes as the stupid scanner processes each check individually, while I wait and wait. Plus, the scanner rejects valid checks all the time, wasting even MORE time.

Rip off!
My son is heading to USMC boot camp and opened an account with BofA so I can use to cover his bills while gone. He opened with $100, then used ATM on 3/24 to buy gas and a sandwich (total $27.41). He learned 3/31 that they charged 2 overdrafts, charged a $888, 888.88 withdrawal (???) and have closed his account. Didn't tell him until he did the research. Now, he's headed to boot camp on Sunday and his state and fed tax returns are to be deposited to this closed account. One more worry while in boot camp. A call to BofA - said they'd give him 30 seconds to state his issue. Are you kidding? Who does business like this?

Terrible bank
I have an account in good standing with Bank of America for a line of credit. I received a letter in the mail essentially removing all of my available credit with a statement that is due for my past charges that were not even due yet. I had recently used this line of credit account 2 days earlier and cashed a check at my local bank with a Bank of America Line of Credit check.
I was totally unaware they had removed all of my available credit. Sure enough I go online to check my bank statement with my local bank and they withdrew the funds from the Bank of America check I had written 2 days prior leaving my bank balance in the red because Bank of America would not honor the line of credit check. The funds that were in my local bank account were to be used for an automatic withdrawal to pay my home mortgage.
So what happened is my mortgage payment did not get paid and I had to beg and borrow money to cover this payment. This was all due to Bank of America removing available credit to me without my knowledge. I had never missed a payment or never been late on a payment. To think they can do this to the people legally and get away with it makes my blood boil.
These are the same people that are working and paying their taxes so Bank of America can get billions of dollars in bail out money. There is something wrong with this whole picture. Bank of America should not be allowed to use the word 'America' to name their business. They behave like loan sharks and get away with it.
BOYCOTT BANK OF AMERICA AND LET THEM FAIL.

Closed Account Without Any Warning
I had a business account with bank of america and never had a negative balance with them, then all of the sudden I see a charge of almost -$900, 000.00. I call to find out what this is about and they said the account is being closed. I call again to ask why they have no reason just that is has been closed...anyone know a reason?

Errors and False Fees
Bank of America is attempting to charge me 117.00 in what they call an overdraft fee. However, my records show that at no time was my account below a $1000 balance.
