SCAMMERS
I contacted them on 7/15/08. They gave me a pickup date of 7/29/08. They came a day late (not bad) sike! I had a delivery date of 8/10/08. The driver calls to say he is coming on the 8/6/08. I would not be intown until 8/8/08, so this would not help me. I was told that if I did not accept the date, I would have to wait 3 weeks! I called the office sooooo many times and spoke to soooo many people! Dan, Mike, Raphael, Jason and finally Becky! They were not any help. The driver is the one who has total control!!! I think he is the only driver for the entire company. To make a long story short, my delivery came on 9/1/08 LABOR DAy, at 10:00 p.m. This company should be shut down! BEWARE. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

Unprofessional Mover
I am a big sufferer for this idiotic company. Because of best price quote I got from this company for my move from VA to TX I selected this company. They were so polite before I paid my 10% of the total move cost. Once I paid they stared showing their reality. They came 1 day late to pick up my stuff and the driver who picked up said they will give delivery in 7 working days. I planned my move accordingly and booked hotel for 1 week in TX. In between before 1 week I just called them once and asked about the status. Bluntly the guy (who can’t speak English properly) said if the driver has given you 7 days delivery time then why are you calling before that estimated time. I did not have any reply and patiently waited for 7days. On 8th day when I have not got neither any update nor my stuff I called the same toll free number (888 511 0018) and asked for status. This time some one else picked up and said they do not have any update on the move and gave me 1 number to call driver and check it. After I tried that number several times someone picked up the phone and said it’s wrong number.

Again I called up the stupid mover and told them that the number he has given is wrong. But still that guy was not agreeing to me. He himself tried the number and when I got some reply which confirmed that the number was wrong, he gave me one more number. When I asked why he himself can’t give me the exact update as I have paid to his company and not to the driver, he said he can’t call the driver and also not interested to do that. Simple he disconnected my call.

Guys just try to understand what could be my situation. I was with my family in the new place staying in a hotel for more that 1 week and paying $80 everyday. It was disturbing my new job very much.

After many many harassment, follow-ups and threaten to sue them I got my stuff in 1 month and 20 days. Also so many small things were missing.

Guys never trust these guys. Please read the review before assigning any job to this unprofessional movers.

AUTHORIZED MOVERS - SO BAD EXPERIENCE WITH A WORST "company..."
AUTHORIZED MOVERS - SO BAD EXPERIENCE WITH A WORST "company..."

I had a VERY BAD experience with the so-called AUTHORIZED MOVERS!!!They charged my credit card without my authorization. They even did NOT tell me anything about the fee ($18!!!) on the phonealthough they mentioned other parts of the contract. Indeed, they never said anything about the $18 fee in the first few emails they sent me. They were not honest at all. The thing that made me so mad is that they sent me an email saying "Your payment has been APPROVED. Thank you!" although I have never authorized them to use my credit card. At the end, I had to cancel the deal with them on August 6, 2008. They sent me an email saying that "Your order has been canceled and refund to your account of the deposit will be refunded promptly". Unfortunately, as of today (August 15, 2008), I haven't received my refund. Moreover, one of their people told me on the phone that I would receive my money within 48 hours...I had to talk with some of their workers on the phone. One of them kept telling me "hold on... hold on...". That's how much English he learned...
I ADVISE EVERYONE TO AVOID THIS SO-CALLED COMPANY. THEY ARE NOT PROFESSIONAL AT ALL AND NOT HONEST... PLEASE NEVER CONTACT THEM EVEN WHEN THEY OFFER 55 CENTS PER POUND. NEVER BELIEVE THEM AND NEVER TRUST THEM.

Awful awful moving experience!
I have never used a more disorganized idiotic moving company! To begin with my respresentative barley spoke English. It took almost half an hour to get him to understand the pick up and delivery addresses. Then he sent me the copntract and both were totally wrong, even though, after getting frustrated speaking to him on the phone I said I would just email the info so I didn't have to keep spelling things over and over trying to get him to understand me.

Suprisingly pick-up went smoothly, they arrived on time and on the correct day! But waiting for delivery has been a nightmare.

On July 28th I get a call from someone named Becky letting me know my things arrived at the wearhouse and willput on the next truck out.
On July 29th I receive a call from someone in the wearhouse saying my things are shipping and I will have them at end of week.
On July 30th I get a call from someone who says he is the driver and confirms I will have my things at end of week.

I hear nothing. Week comes and goes. So I call them Monday Aug. 4. I speak to a rep. who says delivery is scheduled for Thursday August 7th. (Today) I ask him to confirm that 100% as I plan to take off work. He confirms and says they will definitely be here. So this morning I receive a call from Becky again (who called me a week and half ago to tell me my things were shipping out) She calls to tell me "Great news they truck picked up your things you should have them next week sometime!"

I slowly begin to lose my mind and get upset. I tell her I had confirmed with them that today is delivary. She says she doesnt know why someone told me that and i should only deal with her. She is exceedingly RUDE and refuses to let me speak to a supervisor and again says I can only deal with her. She can't explain why she herself called me almost 2 weeks ago to say my things were shipping or why some called and said he was the driver. She couldn't even give me a general idea of when I could expect my things nopr tell me wherer they are! She also refuses to contact the truck driver. So for 2 weeks I have been being told I can expect my things in "2 days or so." Only to be told today that they are just leaving the wearhouse. I asked Becky to explain what the hell goes on there and she says "maybe the truck was late?!?"

Also, a big issue I have is no one I've spoke to there speaks very good English. It is beyond frustrating to communicate with these people when basic English alludes them! When you work in customer service on a telephone I feel like communication skills are key...I called to get their main email address to send a complaint. The receptionist didnt know it, gave me a wrong one. I called back and another receptionist gave me a completely different one. No one has responded to my questions or complaints regarding the status of my missing items!

I will never ever use these movers again.

Terrible moving experience
I arranged for Authorized Movers to coordinate my move from Atlanta, GA, to Washington, DC. The movers were supposed to arrive between 9 and 11 on the morning of the move. When they didn't show by 1:30, I called to check, and they told me that they would call the driver and have him call me with an update. At 3:00, I called back, and was told that there was a back-up and it would be 5-7 at the earliest. I was supposed to be in Charlotte that night, so it was going to be really inconvenient. I called and left messages for Amanda, the woman with whom I made the reservation, and Dana, the "manager, " neither of whom ever returned my call.

I received no update by 5:30, so I called back and spoke with Becky, who said she would "save the day" by finding me a new truck. An hour passed with no news, so I called Becky again. She said it would be noon the following day. I asked to speak to a manager and was put on hold for twenty minutes. Joey answered the phone but was unable to help. He said to call him the next morning to see what the truck situation was going to be. He also told me that 18-wheelers were not allowed into D.C. and that I would have to pay a $400 "shuttle fee" upon delivery. Amanda had not told me about this when I made the reservation. I was also told that to use my credit card I would have to make photo copies of my card and fax a permission form in. Since I was all packed up and moving to a new job, I had to go to Kinko's and pay to do it. Again, Amanda did not tell me about this when I made the reservation.

Surprise - there was no truck available the following day. At 9:00 p.m. the following evening, a full 36 hours after my reservation, I got a call from a driver who said he could come and pick up my stuff that night. I had already made alternative arrangements and disputed the charge to my credit card.

These people are absolute idiots. I have rarely seen this kind of incompetence in any customer service capacity. They cannot problem solve, they are not accountable, and they hide behind the law. They have three days to pick up your stuff before they are non-compliant with DOT regulation, and they are not afraid to take the full three days. It is hell trying to get a manager on the phone. Even if you ask for someone by name, the receptionist screens the calls and routes you to somebody else. Many of the employees do not speak good enough English to understand basic questions and order numbers.

I will never, ever use Authorized Movers again.

Don't Use Them!!!
I am moving from Denver to Chicago and hired Authorized Movers because they were the lowest quote I could find. I talked with a very nice man named Andrew and he helped me out with my quote, we went through every item in my apartment to make sure we were both on the same page. He followed up quickly with everything I needed, until moving day.
I set my pickup dates between the 9/10th of June. The 10th came around and I received a call at 12:30 (the time they were supposed to be there) and said they were not coming. Keep in mind my job starts on the 13th and that is why I left plenty of time to get my things picked up and me on my 14 hour drive to Chicago, plenty of time with any other moving company. So I settled down and told them fine, I am okay with them not being there on the 10th and I can stretch my trip to an overnight trip just to make sure my stuff will be picked up. Then the 11th came around, 2 (the time they promised) came and left and no sign of my truck or anything. I admit, I was angry and flipping out and called the company for some answers. They put you on hold from extension to extension with NO help. The truck driver actually did call me and say he will not be there and he's sorry. I told him sorry doesn't cut it when you NEED to leave town to start work at a new job. The company pushed me around for 3 hours putting me on hold over and over again and with me continuously asking for a manager and NO one would help me! Finally after several hours and yes, with my mothers help, I got ahold of Andrew again. Once again he was SOO polite and so nice, and seemed to honestly care. But then when it came down to it he couldn't even help me.
We decided that I would go out and buy a lock box and put it on the door give them the password so I can leave town and they can pick up on the 12. Finally on the 12 I was home in Chicago and I get a call in the afternoon saying my quote was completely wrong and the truck driver won't pick up my stuff because its too much stuff. Keep in mind, I had just moved the exact same amount of belongings with a previous mover only 2 months before for only $100 more. I knew exactly what I had and how many pounds it was. He then went through all my belongings and quoted me a new quote of $1200 more than I was quoted over the phone with Andrew. PLUS I was on the third floor so I get added $150.00 for being on that third floor which I was never told in the first place. I am in Chicago 1000 miles away from Denver, trying to get adjusted to start work, and they are telling me they won't move my stuff. I then of course try and call managers again and no one answers.
As of right now I don't know what is happening to my stuff. I told them to just move it, because I need it, and Its my life! After reading so many horrible horrible reviews of the company, I am in the same boat, and I don't know what to do. I am totally stuck.
And I cannot stand reading that some people didn't get their belongings for a month! I should've just went with my older movers and paid the extra fees because now I don't know what I am going to do.

This is the worst company I could ever imagine working worth, and I pray to God that my belongings show up because they are my life, and everything I have lived with since I first moved out 6 years ago. And now all I can do is wait, and its horrible.
Its horrible when your things are in someone elses hands and they can't even return phone calls or pick up. And its making me sleepless at night to think that I don't know where my belongings are or when I will see them again, and even IF they will all be there.
Please save yourself and DO NOT use this company.

Terrible service
Please don't hire Authorized Movers. They are cheats. I first talked to a sales representative. Her name was "Amy". She told me that they can pickup on the memorial day weekend and deliver to destination in about 3 days. My move was from North Carolina to Maine. First of all, they never came for pickup until 4 days after. Now it has been nearly 2 weeks and they have not yet delivered my goods to me.

I also had to move my car. After the initial sales talk, they never picked it up until today. When I called them earlier, they mentioned that they were looking for some carriers since it is a long distance. Today, when i called them up, they mentioned that it has been canceled!!! I have already paid some advance and now I am supposed to call up their accounting department for the refund. I tried calling up thrice but nobody is answering.

Please don't go for Authorized movers. I am already paying for my mistake.

Beware of this unreliable company!
We reserved a local residential move in Ohio with Authorized Movers for May 1, 2008. They sent our confirmation date and time as May 1, 2008 between 8-10am. We had to reserve on a credit card with 10% of the quote, which ended up being $96 for our move. They were friendly and helpful while scheduling the move. They returned calls and email quickly and seemed to provide good service. This all changed drastically on the day of our move, May 1st. They did not call the day before as we were told they would, so I called and left a voice mail that was not returned. On moving day they were supposed to come between 8-10am, calling when they were en route, and 9am arrived without a phone call or a moving truck. Between 9am and 2:30pm, my husband and I called too many times to count. At first we were told they would check with dispatch and call us back, and then another hour went by with no movers and no call. From that point, we were sent to several different voice mailboxes, and if we ever did get to actually talk to someone, they kept giving us the run-around - "We're working on it. We just need a few more minutes. We'll call you back."(which they never did) At one point we were finally told that they were running late because they were finishing a move from the previous day, and finally at 2:30, they said they would not be able to make it that day. They "promised" to have a crew to our place first thing the next morning. At that point we canceled the service (I use the term service very loosely) and requested that they refund our deposit since they did not provide the service on the date and time reserved. We were told the deposit would be refunded, which would only take a few days at the most and 2 weeks later we are still waiting for that refund. Authorized Movers are unprofessional, unreliable and obviously do not train their representatives to provide good customer service. The rep I scheduled with is Lisa at 1-888-511-0018X207, and another incompetent we spoke with is Dan. Do not use this company - Authorized Movers are CROOKS!!!
