AT&T Wireless Reviews

Terrible experience
On Feb 26th 2008, I had a catastrophic vehicle accident where I broke both left and right femur, my left hip, tore the ACL in my right knee and the PCL (opposite of the ACL which I did not even know that I had). My apple IPhone was stolen from the vehicle before, after, or during the time that I was being cut out of my vehicle. The State Trooper on scene called my wife (who was then 6 months pregnant with our twin daughters). Being without a phone while I was in the hospital for nine days and then in a hospital bed in my living room for 2 months was no big deal. Finding a good phone to replace my apple IPhone could wait, there were and are still hospital bills for my three surgeries (I have a fourth coming by March) and the hospital bills for the birth, by C-section, of our twin daughters. As I am still in a wheelchair due to all the damages I received in this vehicle accident, I do almost all my shopping online. Standing up is painful, sitting down is painful (surgery site for my hip is my backside), almost everything I do causes me some discomfort. The day after Thanksgiving is black Friday and cyber Monday is that following week. Your company offered a deal on new service. The phones were supposed to be free (for the 10 year old and grandma sperandio…the ten year old now has service with Verizon). Due to whatever miscues, I was charged not only for both new lines and both new phones, it is $717.16 that I can not afford. I was told that it would only be a charge placed on my account and then that hold would be reversed. My initial call after discovering the error, I was told that everything would be taken care of; this was not the case however. After several subsequent calls wherein not one single person was willing to take ownership of this issue and where I was on one occasion called a liar (that the sale never took place). I got the RMA and attempted to return the phone. As I am currently physically disabled, I can not walk, drive, run, or crutch over to the post office. I gave the box with the RMA to my mail carrier.

A few days ago, I discovered the box on the floor by the table. My 10 yr old had brought it in off the porch. The package was returned due to insufficient payment. Your company, first charged me for a phone that was supposed to be free, then you told me I could not get a refund because I did not activate my phone properly. The phones never worked out of the box and the numbers were changed. Another woman told me that somewhere somehow I was suppose to have noticed that only one phone line and phone were supposed to be free, however when I checked out online, there was no charge for the phones. I then told her that I would send the second phone back via the RMA I was emailed and expected a full refund for the phones, this she said would happen within 10 days (by Dec 23rd). I have not received my refund for the phones to my bank account. The RMA for the phone that I tried to return is not a paid RMA.

I believe that it is only reasonable that if this phone can not (by your stipulation) be returned to any authorized dealer that you send me a prepaid postage as it is still in the box next to my table. I believe that it is only reasonable that the money for the phones be refunded. I have been a customer of AT&T for a long time. My home service, internet, TV, and cell phone all are services provided by you. Perhaps the services provided by MA Bell are no longer worth it. Maybe the savings I think I am receiving are not compensation enough for what I now have to deal with. Being on LTD I am on a limited income and I am starting to feel that due to the treatment I have received at the hands of your service personnel, my best interest may not be served by remaining your customer. A few years ago I vowed never to buy another ford because they seem to have lost their connection to and respect for the common person. Courtesy costs nothing, but the lack of it can be quite costly. I would like to receive the refund for the cost of the phones and I would like to receive prepaid postage to return your phone (for the line I discontinued) or the address of someplace that it can be dropped off within my neighborhood.

Stay away
I have a GO phone for my 85 year old elderly mother living in a nursing home in FL, I am in NY. Last September it came to my attention that her minutes expired and for some reason the automatic billing did not go through and $450.00 in unused minutes expired. After several calls to ATT they gave us the minutes back with a 25% penalty on a 1 time basis. The same thing happened. On December 9th, my minutes again expired again and again my credit card did not go through on automatic billing. On both occasions I was able to use the credit card that had been set up for automatic billing to avoid this situation. I asked them why they did not contact me vial e-mail which they have my aaddress, nor by telephone which they have a contact number to reach me. ATT claims they can only contact me via a text message to the phone. Most 85 year olds probably have no understanding of text messages. ATT use of email or phone is for solicitation purposes only not for problems I was told by ATT Customer Service. ATT must have an office that Bernie Madoff works in to steal from its cutomers because thats what they are doing!

Rip off artists
I was deployed to iraq recently, and i set up an international plan so that i may call my wife. first month goes by and i have a bill over $1, 000!!! after 2 days of me trying to connect with a special help number they gave me, they said the plan change was never made. AT&T would give me the run around about changing the plan and adjusting the charges. they said it was fixed and the next month i had an outrageous bill... again. we ended up canceling AT&T. customer service is garbage there.

Horrible treatment
I have had my wireless service with AT&T for over a decade. I have always used AT&T for my land line and I have used AT&T for my internet services for the past 4.5 years. This summer, I purchased an iPhone. Last night, it was stolen. I called and made a police report. I called my insurance company and reported the loss. I called AT&T to report my stolen phone. The computers were down and no one was able to give me any information regarding replacing my phone. This morning, I called your Vallejo store and spoke to a very rude person who told me that I was going to have to pay full price for a replacement phone since I was not eligible for a new phone. I was sure this must be a mistake. AT&T would not penalize me for being so unfortunate to have my phone stolen. I figured the woman was as stupid as she was rude, said thank you and hung up. I then called AT&T customer service number. While both people were pleasant, they informed me that, in fact, what the incredibly rude woman at the Vallejo store said was true. AT&T was going to try and bilk an extra $150.00 from me to replace my phone. I couldn't believe it. Normally, I would just grin and bear it. But my home phone has been out of order for almost a month and AT&T still has not been able to fix it. I am left with NO PHONE. Heaven forbid I would have an emergency or a health problem, I doubt that 911 would respond to an urgent email in a timely matter. I am seriously considering taking all of my business away from AT&T, everything, internet, wireless, home phone. I want to be treated like a valued customer. I want to be treated with respect. I want a new iPhone without being screwed. I am posting this letter on facebook, on myspace, on my blog, I am sending a copy to Apple and I WILL TELL EVERY SINGLE PERSON I KNOW HOW HORRIBLE I HAVE BEEN TREATED BY THIS COMPANY.

REBATE / CUSTOMER SERVICE
I purchased a cellphone from AT&T online in Feb. 2008 and part of the promotion was for a $75.00 rebate. When I received the phone I requested to have the phone number changed, needless to say they left both accounts open and tried to charge me for both phone numbers on one phone. Impossible! A month later I noticed the rebate was not credited to my account so when I called customer service they then informed me that I needed to call and request for the rebate form. Two months went by and no rebate along with a collection notice for the initial account that should have been closed. When I disputed the charges along with copies of statements along with names and dates of personnel I spoke with still no response. Months went by and when I telephone AT&T of course no record of the documentation I forwarded along with the dispute. The excuse for no rebate was then they needed a forwarding address. A year later I called to see if the address was still on file and they told me they could not give me something back from 2008 and monies that i did not give them. Not Reputable Company At All! It's just a matter of time before other cellular companies put them out of business or a FAT Class Action Lawsuit will force them out of business. And I Can't Wait To See It. Right is Right and Wrong is Wrong.

Terrible service
This is a follow-up of my previous post. After spending over FIVE hours on the phone with AT&T on three different days, after having been disconnected three times during my hold-time, and after having been lied to and promised false promises, I will now look for another phone company. AT&T caused a disruption of my service, and they seem to care little that I lost work time on the phone with them, and they now tell me they cannot rebundle my services and restore my account.

Does the AT&T CEO ever go home and say "Today we made customers happy?"

No customer service
In May '08 I added a third cell phone to my family's bundled services, which also included my home phone, internet access, and satellite TV. When we made this change, AT&T somehow UNbundled our cell phones and disrupted auto-pay for our cellphones. SO, AT&T suspended my cell phone service while I was on a trip. And when I called to reconnect and rebundle the services, I was kept on the phone for 90 minutes with AT&T. They transferred me five times and finally disconnected me before solving my problem. They don't have a LIVE customer service person online to help, of course. That would be too easy. I called back and was told I would face unusual hold times. Argh!

What a scam
So I went into a store and was told at&t had solid service in my area. they mention the ad on tv as proof. So gave in and signed up. There service has almost zero in my house and only 2 bars outside. when i did a search i found out that the best coverage claim is based on world wide coverage! who cares what coverage at&t gets in china, if I can't make calls in my own home! How can at&t make such a bold lie? I notice on the commercial they claim to have the best coverage but in tiny and i mean tiny letters, say (based on world coverage)! i was still forced to pay for 3 days of service and I am still waiting for the rest of my refund. i never knew a company could keep lieing and getting away with it. at&ts best coverage claim is a lie because it is based on world service. so it does not matter if you can't make a call from in your car because you can make a call when your in china!!! what a scam!!!

Very unhappy with their customer service
For Christmas I took my 2 sons to Costco to the AT&T station to let them pick out their new phones. The AT&T representative sold my boys on the blackberry pearl. I requested insurance (because they were for 2 BOYS) added the extra's my boys wanted and after 1 1/2 hours later, we left the store. 1 month later my youngest son lost his phone and when I went to the AT&T store to have it replaced I was not only told that I never had insurance on the phones but these phones WERE NOT INSURABLE from the get go. I am so angry that AT&T who boasts on their website of integrity, values and treating customers with respect would misrepresent their products and then do NOTHING to help correct the situation. I am very unhappy with their customer service.

Shocking experience!
Waited over a year for AT&T to extend cable service to my home. Never happened. Finally moved phone to cable provider. Kept wireless with AT&T. Paid "Final Bill". Received call from AT&T about 2 months later asking me to call them about my account.

They explained that I was "extremely past due". I explained that I had received no bills from them. They told me that when you cancel home phone service they don't know if you're moving or what so they put you on e-bills automatically. No one told me this when I made the switch. They could not give me the address to which they claimed to have been sending the bills. Now I had almosts $300 including late fees due to them. In talking with 6 different extremely rude people (excelpt for Dianne who was excellent but with home phone dept.) it came down to the fact that all this was my fault. They could extend my payment time until the 14th of April but that was all they could do. I tried to tell them I had not budgeted for a $300 bill and wanted them to spread out the past due amount over 4 months so I could pay it off easier. They could not do that. Strangely enough, the offer to extend my pay date to 4-14-08 was moot as my bill showed that to be the last date to pay before late fees were added. Nice offer jerks!

Time after time AT&T shows their butt with their lack of customer service, attitude of "what you gonna do about it?" and general lack of customer consideration. Up to the end of my 1 and 1/2 hour conversation they still maintained that they had not caused the problem by putting me on e-bills and not telling me they had done so!

I hope they rot in a nice warm place!!!
