I have AT & T residential phone service. I moved and called AT & T to end my service at old address and start at new. They gave me new phone number and said my service would be turned on in about 24 hours. They said they did not have to come to my house. I waited a day and tried plugging in phone to jack...no dial tone on all four jacks. I called AT &T and was told (by the way, it took 3 calls and lots of waiting) that I needed someone to come out and install a working jack. What I am trying to understand is: the jacks were working before I moved in...now they don't. Nothing was mentioned when I called requesting service that it would be $125.00 per jack. AT&T said they have nothing to do with jacks not working...Okay, who disconnected the jacks then? They were working before I moved in. The same thing happened to someone else I know. I wonder how many times this happens and no one complains? When I asked to file a complaint...they told me there is no such person in charge of complaints. And they get away with this crap.
