Runaround on promised rebate
I posted my like complaint as all of you have here on this board about 3 weeks ago. I'm happy to report that since then I read about a site called the consumerist that lists email addresses and even phone #s for presidents & CEOs of companies-google for it, it is worth your while as you will see-and found the direct email address for the President of AT&T. I figured I had nothing to lose and so I emailed him about a week and a half ago and told him of my complaint and about the fact of the many complaints like mine on this and on many boards from people taken for a ride by AT & T. I'm now also very happy to report that last week as a result of this email, I got a call from the executive secretary for AT & T's president looking to resolv this matter and to resolve it that week. She assigned one of her assistants to it and after a minimal amount of research verified what I was claiming and credited my account for the rebate that I had coming to me and that I had been given the runaround about. She also apologized for AT & T having dropped the ball and having caused me this problem. My point is that if you skip all these do nothings, promise you the world underlings and go straight to the top that hopefully you too will get what you were promised and what you have been shorted.
Here is the email addreses of the AT & T president:
[email protected]
[email protected]
I'd email your complaint to both addresses as I did and I hope you will all have the same successful and prompt results as I did. Good luck to all.

Internet hook up
I t took three weeks to get my internet service hooked up, due to errors on there part, how long does it take to fix an error, and how many people does it take to get a problem solved? When you ask to talk to a supervisor the supervisor sends you back through the mill. Then they also, try to charge you for services you haven't recieved yet.

No customer care
I was to have U-verse installed on November 17, 2008 after I had to reschedule a prior appointment. ATT never showed up and when I called they claimed they never had me scheduled for that date. I then scheduled for December 17, 2008 for a 10 AM-noon window. I spoke to them at 10 AM to confirm the time and everything seemed to be okay. At 12:18 PM, 18 minutes after the window closed, the dispatch center calls me to say they can't make it and I need to re-schedule again. The best they were going to offer was another appointment. After going through five (5) people and 45 minutes on the phone I finally got an appointment for January 9, 2009 with a Noon- 2 PM install window. I also received a three(3) month credit for U-Verse service ($180). Today, January 9, 2009, the dispatch center called at 1:56PM, 4 minutes before the window was to close, to tell me the installer was running late by one to one and one-half hours. While we had snow and I assumed they might be behind a phone call sooner than 4 minutes before the installer was to arrive would have been appreciated.

Made false bill and destroy my credit score
I never order the AT & T internet which $29/per month. I never got any bill from AT & T. I never use it at all. I never know that! But AT & T sent the false collection bill to my credit bureau and reduce my score for 100. It is financial crime! I want to suit AT & T!

DSL Interent Service
Internet service is not available since February 9, 2009. I have called number of times to technical support, each time the call goes to India with no help in resolving the problem. There is no single person responsible whose email address is provided for help. The online chat is as horrible as phone support. None of the guys seems to be qualified to give first level support or escalate. Money is down the drain and time is wasted. Is there way to respectably get support and refund for loss.?

Rebate
Unfortunately, I have experienced the same problem with AT &T rebates. I spoke with a customer service rep who requested rebates for approx 4 different offers for services I currently have. This was 3 months ago. The total amoutn for the rebates should have been about $220.00. After continuously checking the rebate website, (which is never working) I called and spoke to another rep who informed me that nothing had been submitted. After telling her that one of their reps had requested the rebates, she stated that I had already received them a year ago. What am I some kind of idiot? I didn't have the services a year ago. This has really put a bad taste in my mouth with AT & T. Anyway, since bundling my services, it has been nothing short of a nightmare. Beware consumers!! Watch every bill and every offer! They are nothing but scam artists.

Horrible customer & internet service
1/5/09: On 1/5/09 I requested trasfer of the internet service as I moved on 1/8. They didn't even asked when to disconnect, and they went ahaed and disconnect my internet the next day saying my earliest day of reactivation is 1/12. OK, fine.
1/12: There was no internet signal on the promised day, so I spoke with customer service after being on hold for 30-40 min. She said technician would visit my place, so just wait.
1/13/09: There was no visit or call on 1/13.
1/15/09: I tried another call to reginal rep on 1/15, he refused to come fix the problem because I have internet only without landline, so I went to service center. He called to customer service just as I had beendoing, then told me someone would call me within the next 24 hrs, so just wait. OK, I'm getting upset, but I'll be waiting.
1/16/06: It's past 32 hrs, but there's no calls.
Doesn't matter whether I go to customer center or call them. They totally ignore my request,
and the wore, they still billed me for the month (12/21-1/20) that I even have NO service whatsoever!!!

Robbery the custome by "verbal contact"
AT and T need to improve their wireless quality and custom service
It started at April 2008. I changed my name and financial responsibility from my husband's. My husband's contract left 3 more months at that time. I was told my new contract would last 6 more months, until Nov. 2008 if I pay transfer fee. I paid and my name was transferred.
I was preparing the house and ready to move. I found the phone can't work well in my another house. I can overcome the calling failure by dialing multiple times. However, the phone repeated cut off when I was talking at my front and back yard and inside the house as well. It effected my business and life badly. I called them and they can't fix it. They give me options: 1. Pay $175 to discontinue the phone. 2. provide me a new phone. They didn't tell me but I found the new phone need to have another 2 year contract or pay above $200 for the phone. I didn't accept either of them. I went to other place to make call. Finally, November came. I went to cancel the phone and I was told the contract was until next March. During conversation, they told me:
1. They are not responsible for my poor signal, either I need to drive 30 miles or 200 miles to make phone call.
2. They will not provide my the contract I had at April because that is verbal agreement. They didn't have document and they don't have to provide me anything.
3. I need to pay $175 if I want to disconnect the phone.
I feel very bad. I can't use the phone suitable but I have to pay. They are the company should be responsible to provide the contract but they didn't. I am afraid they will produce another verbal agreement when I go to conceal the service at next March.

Users beware
Users, use any company but At & T. On thanksgiving day (my husband and I have been customers of AT & T for 20 years) we were told to continue using our hi speed internet access we would have to fax ID in to the company! Hello we were calling from our landline phone, had the modem serial numbers, account information yet we were told we would have to fax ID??? Cant anyone fax ID. What rotten service we have had with their internet since day one! Yep they can handle a landline phone but you give these computer dummies anymore work and they just cant keep up with the tech people that have been doing internet for quite a few years.
Of course we are cancelling our landline phone, our internet service and so forth with AT & T. If they cant even tell who their customers are when they are calling in on their landline phones, I sure dont want their services.

home phone
Totally due to harrassing telemarketers, credit collection agengies/rippoff companies (which i do not owe!) & Texas State Hiway patrol fundraising (fake too) calling & calling, that I had my homephone of about 12 yrs. just flat out turned off. Cancelled. Ended...I blame the telephone company for allowing bogus companies untold limits to NEW phone # after # after #!!!...The DoNotCall list doesnt work either...I will just dissappear like the fake companies do...no # for me means no crummy companies calling!
