I'm not sure you can help but here it goes. I recently received a letter from NCO financial systems inc. The letter states that America Online has forwarded my account to their office. They are are claiming I owe aol $95.60 which dates back to 2003. I accepted a 30 day free trial from aol. I had recently switched to comcast cable for my internet service and apparantly they wanted to woo me back. I used the 30 day trial and forgot about it thinking that would be the last of aol. A little while after the month was over i received a bill from aol asking for money. I called and asked them why? They stated I failed to cancel service. I told them that I never ordered service nor do I need their service since I was already a comcast customer. I was then informed that because I failed to cancel their free offer I would continue to be billed. If you can't help who can. They are threatening to seek a judgement against me. How does this society let these companies get away with this kind of scam? What is my recourse? Who can I turn to? Many thanks.

There was a charge on my credit card that was unauthorized in the amount of $4.95 plus 30.90 for TWX AOL Premium Service, this was on 6/8 $4.95 then 30.90 on 6/8, this was done twice on same day..... I am not supposed to be charged anything for 6 months and I did not give you permission to bill my credit card company. I would appreciate it to be refunded my money back to my account....I not want AOL.....I have proof the bank knows of this........Jenna

This letter is about recurring charges on my credit card account. On April 5th I cancelled my account with you-confirmation NO. 231400159. I was subsequently charged $25.90x3 times. I called AOL office on May 30th about this matter and got another cancellation Conf. No.582395121. A refund of $41.90. showed on my July Mastercard statement, but at the same time another $25.90 was deducted. Could you rectify this matter. There seem to have been two accounts:" [email protected] "and "shamtsu@ aol.com." To my knowledge I had just one account.

I really hate how aol claims to block pop-ups but don't block their own!

I began receiving charges of $25.90 in March. In April the charges were hitting twice a month. I spoke with the customer service department who needed my credit card account number in order to look up my account. They said I had 3 accounts, yet I have not one icon or shortcut to AOL on my computer. They said they would transfer me to the cancellation department. Mysteriously I was disconnected. With the cycle of a new credit card billing, I had the courage to call again, which by the way, their call menu is very long and cumbersome. The cancellation dept. told me I had only 2 accounts open, and one did not have my personal name on it so they could not tell me details of the account. The user names are nothing I would ever make up. Because the first charges went back to March, the Cancellation dept told me I should talk to the Fraud dept. I was on hold for 15 minutes and gave up for today. I think the real fraud dept. I need to call is not associated with AOL. In reading the many entries in ComplaintsBoard.com, it sounds like my lawmakers need to become involved.
