Estimator no show - no call back
I had set up to have an estimator come to my home for an upcoming move quote. One hour before the appointment the estimator called to reschedule. I realized after making the reschedule that the new date would not work for me and I attempted to contact the company to notify and get a date that would work. I was on hold for 40 minutes with the main office. I was given the mobile number of the estimator to work directly with him to reschedule. I immediately called the number and left my message. I did not receive a phone call back confirming the cancel of the new date.
4 days later I again contacted the main office saying that I would like to reschedule the estimate. I finally received a call from the estimator who rescheduled an appointment time with me. On the day of the appointment, I waited, and waited, and waited. The estimator never showed. I never received a call from either the estimator nor the company explaining the no show.
This was the time that a moving company should be trying to impress the customer regarding their service in the hopes that they would sign a contract with them. If they could not impress me during this phase of our "relationship" I surely am not going to feel confident that they would impress me during our move.
I was so put off by the customer service I received and the no-show that I am absolutely going to pass along this negative feedback to as many people as possible.

HUGE inconvenience
We were RIPPED off by All My Sons. One my first call to them, they were extremely helpful and nice and said they would arrive between noon and 3 and it would be $80/hr. They would also bring bubble wrap to wrap up my tv for safe transporting. Around 3:30pm I called to check on their status and they said they were running a little late - duh. and would arrive around 4pm. ... At 5pm I called again to check on their status (they NEVER called me to let me know they would be hours late). They said the driver was 10 minutes away. ... I called again at 6:15pm to find out the driver had gone down the wrong street and was just sitting at a dead end looking at a map. So, I gave the driver instructions. He never showed. I called again and gave him instructions again. They FINALLY showed, SEVERAL hours late. My roommates were moving out at the same time with a different company. All My Sons took twice as long to move 1/2 as much stuff to their truck. Same story with the unloading. In the end, our stuff was finally in our new place (walls very scratched) around 9:30pm. We were slapped with a $400 bill at $89/hr instead of the $80/hr I was quoted. (Roommates with twice the amount of stuff were moved in less than half the time and were charged $160.)
1. They did not bring the bubble wrap to wrap the TV.
2. We were charged a 'traveling fee' - they were 3 1/2 - 6 HOURS LATE!
3. We called customer service and the man we talked to was extremely rude to us. They took nothing off our bill, hardly apologized for the inconvenience and were surprised we wanted to cancel a move we had scheduled for 2 weeks later.
Moral of the story - this was the worst moving experience EVER. Worse than when I moved from one city to another.
When I called to talk to someone about it and cancel the next move we had scheduled I talked to three people and each was equally rude. *Note: the actual movers were very nice, the company was not.

damaged furniture
This was supposed to be a very simple process. Moving ONE piece of furniture (a cherry TV/stereo cabinet) from our upstairs to our garage. It's solid and constructed very well - no movable parts. My husband and I could not move it and we didn't want any of our family members to get hurt trying to move it down the stairs. So i called a couple of moving companies to get estimates for this "small" - one item job. They all have minimums and All My Sons took lots of time to talk about their being BONDED, INSURED and very CAREFUL...taking the time to wrap furniture in cloth or protective pads. We paid in advance on the phone (by credit card). Two men showed up that same day and while they were carrying it down (with no padding or cover), they gouged a huge gash along the front on the stair railing banister top. There is no way to fix it other than replacing the two doors on front that open and smoothing out the "scar" on the other side of the cabinet. We were told to fill out the "claims" form and take photos which we did. We were then told we had to get a form notarized - which we did and mail all that documentation into We Care (Ha!) claims. We just received notice that they intend to pay us $80 - an insult. The cabinet is less than 10 years old in excellent condition - no scratches or scars until they movers basically destroyed it. We had intended to sell it at the consignment store. But now, not only will they not accept it, we are out the $200 - that hasn't even been reimbursed to us! This is an outrage and we will not sit still for this type of treatment.

moving expenses
I called All my sons moving company and explained that the first moving company did not show up. I explained we were moving very few items about 5 minutes away. I explained that there were only 13 items to move somewhere in the garage to help make the move faster. I asked for a quote and they stated $75 an hour. I asked again how much would the cost be. Again, I was quoted $75 an hour. At that point I made the decision to use this company. While I was waiting at my new home they came and showed my husband some paper work. It was then stated in a very quick fasion that we would have to pay $250 for a fee. My husband assumed that this was not the case because of what I was quoted. However, they did charge us $250 for a move that took 63 minutes. I called twice to try to resolve this problem and both times they stated that they would look into the matter and call me back. Of couse I have not ever received a call back. I would never, ever use this company again.

Damage to furniure and insurance follow through
We moved from one end of Georgia to the other, when Randy the representative came to our home to discuss the move he asured us that the movers were professionals. The All My Sons office we were using was out of Bluffton S.C. therefore all his movers were schooled and skilled to handle high end furnishings.
This being the case we were sure our not so highend stuff was in good hands. All the furniture in our home was two and a half years old or less, now every piece is scuffed, nicked or gourged. The back of the china cabinet looks as if someone put a foot thru it, the dining room table has a deep gouge and the console table leg is completely broken in half where the mover fellout of the truck and landed on the table.
In August we received a letter from ALL MY SONS (AMS)wanting us to settle the claim for $300.00, they indicated this was a generous offer after reviewing our claim. The console table cost more than that not counting all the other damage.
We purchased extra insurance with We Care Insurance through the mover on the day of the move. They have not been helpful at all. Four months after the move they finally sent a young man to look at the furniture for repair, he could not or would not tell me how these repair would be done, he said they would not be perfect but would be satisfactory, yeah to whom. I ask for a copy of the report he was sending to the insurance company and was told i was not allowed to have that, he also told me at the time that he could not repair the china cabinet or the console table.
Today(oct.25,07) i spoke with the insurance company rep. who at first told me she had not received a report on the damages, when I told her who came to the house three weeks ago she put me on hold for about 5 minutes while she talked with AMS. She came back and said the insurance had be nullified because I underestimated the value of my furniure by $20,000, but they would do the repairs if I send a check for $358.00 to them, I asked for a itemized list of the repairs to be done and about the replacement value of the non- repairable pieces she had no answer for that. I did not undervalue my furniure so I called and spoke with the office manager for AMS and I have yet to have an answer to any of my question and I still have scuffed, scratched, dented ,gouged , busted and broked furniture
