All My Sons Moving & Storage Reviews

Terriable Service
1st off I booked this company one month in advance and two days before the move the company calls and says they can not make it on the date we had agreed on and would be one day late. OK no biggy. I got a truck and started moving boxes and figured I'd let them move the big stuff. Well that was the wrong discussion. They were not professional movers as they damaged just about every piece of furniture we had including a very expensive leather couch for which it looks like they dragged it on the ground as it ended up with several rips. My overall experience with this company was horrible and will never use or recommend this company again.

Do Not Use All My Sons Movers
We used All My Sons Movers to move our furniture and belongings from a three bedroom apt. to a four bedroom house eight miles away. I should have known something was wrong when the company didn't want to send someone out to estimate our load and give us a quote. They did, however, give me a quote of $1900 over the phone when I told him what we had to move. I asked for four workers to help pack and not one of them spoke English or knew how to pack properly. They all seemed like the type of day laborers who normally stand on street corners in SE Portland waiting for work. They refused to pack our TV sets in the original boxes with packing we had saved. Instead our large TV rode on a blanket in the truck despite my objections. They claimed they had to make two trips even though the first truck was only half full. Some of the men rode in the back of the truck with our belongings. Something that I'm sure is illegal with the transportation dept.

They did not deliver some of our better furniture and computers to the new house on the first truck load. My husband was at the new house with cable installers expecting and needing to hook up the computers and when they were not unloaded from the truck along with some furniture, he called me back at the apartment. I called the moving company and was told they were holding our computers and furniture as collateral in case we didn't pay. When I reminded him that I gave him a credit card number, he claimed that the charge did not go through. I said that was not possible because the card had a zero balance and a credit line that would accommodate the cost of this move. He had an inaccurate number and told me he would try to contact the truck that was in route back to the apt. to deliver the computers and furniture to the new house. Something they should have done on the first trip. When they finally returned to take the rest of the furniture and belongings, they told me they couldn't take our large collection of plants from the deck and front porch. I had to tell him that I was disabled and couldn't move these things myself and was paying him for his moving abilities and no one at their office told me they couldn't move plants when I included them in the quote.

When I got to the house later that night the entire house was a chaotic mess. Most of the boxes were not in the appropriate rooms as I had labelled the boxes nor was the furniture placed where I showed them it should go on a floorplan I had drawn probably because the movers couldn't read English along with not being able to speak it.

As I unpacked, I discovered that some boxes were only half full and some were even empty. I discovered that some of my husband's college things were mixed in a box with some of my things that I've had before I even met my husband. There is no way that my husband's belongings could have gotten in that box unless the movers combined them as they were going through our boxes on the truck. I still have not found my two jewelry boxes.

The company charged us double what they quoted me on the phone because of the two truck loads. It was a 24 ft. truck. If they had loaded it properly to full capacity the first time, there never would have been a second trip.

The entire experience with All My Sons Movers was a total nightmare and I do not recommend them. I will never use them again and I warn all people who I know are going to use professional movers not to use them either. They are anything but professioanl. They are gougers, thieves and probably use illegal immigrant day laborers on their crew. Do not use All My Sons Movers!

poor service,hidden charges
I hired this company to move me from one house to another, I was assured that it would be three very professional guys doing the move, well when they arrived two of them spoke no English, they damaged furniture, broke statues, vases, and on top of that they went off and left a dresser in one of the bedrooms behind, the guy that did speak English called a brother to get a washer and dryer that i was getting rid of, mind you that I'm on the clock being charged 130.00 per hr, this guy helps his brother load his pick up truck on my time. When i reported this to the company along with all the damages, furniture left behind and poor service, i was informed by a Anthony Nitta that he would be sending me a $300.00 check to cover the damages and for the inconvenience, well at this posting i still haven't received a check .I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone if they approach you turn and run as fast as you can

damage/threats
The movers from All My Sons in Denver showed up on time, and Ricky, the "lead, " reeked of marijuana. He said "Any problems, we stop the move immediately and reschedule." Well, when was the last time YOU could reschedule a move? I couldn't--I had that day to move, and that day only. So, I let them continue. I had made it clear that my armoire, a beautiful piece of burled maple with delicate Asian legs, was very dear to me (I saved for over 6 months for it, and it's the only really nice, new, undamaged thing I owned). Ricky dropped it off of the truck, smashing the trim, ripping the legs off and scratching and gouging it. I started crying, and he had the balls to complain to his boss that I was "stressing him out!" They took my armoire to be repaired by an "expert repairer." It was gone a month. It was supposed to be delivered on 6/4/09, but they never showed up. I called the office (303)329-3217 the next morning and spoke to Benjamin Andrews, the office manager. Andrews started raising his voice to me because I was causing so much trouble over my armoire. He said, "I don't think you know who I am! I know who YOU are. I know where you live. I know that you live alone. I know you a little girl and I'm going to come and SEEEEE you. You think you a big bad ass...I'll show you a bad ass. I'm going to come over to your house and teach you a lesson." I called the Denver police, filed a report, will be filing a restraining order against him. The officer said that they get multiple complaints every month about Vic (the owner) and his gang--that they quote one price then hold furniture hostage until you pay double or more, that they damage furniture then try to get away with not fixing it, that they threaten people. They tried to deliver my armoire today, and all the "expert repairer" had done was screw the legs on--the gouges, scrapes, dent and trim were unrepaired. I'll be filing a Better Business Bureau complaint, and contacting the media (once my armoire is repaired) and probably suing them. Keep this company and its scumbag employees out of your house!

All My Sons Moving & Storage - Repeat Customer With Perfect Moving
I'm a customer of All My Sons Moving & Storage, and an extremely satisfied customer at that. Since this is a complaints board (which is just sad when there's no room to encourage positive thinking), I'm here to complain about the people complaining about a moving company that is simply a God-send. I understand that damages are definitely worthy of a complaint and scheduling conflicts occur with any moving company across the board, but I can't help but think some of these complaints are the result of a naive customer. Read the fine print, people!!! Ask questions!!! Most moving companies ask for payment in advance and before unloading. Its how it works!! My story is below, and its hard to believe I'm talking about the same moving company that these other reviews mention.

Thanks to a snafu with our mortgage company, the house we though we were buying from my sister was in fact put up for auction. This left us with about 2 days to get packed, find a new home, and move our family of three there. My wife was in hysterics, and we googled "West Palm movers" to find All My Sons at the top of the list.

We didn't have time for an estimate, as we were already trying to throw our entire life into boxes. Needless to say, we were frustrated and scared and upset, but our moving representative was great about reassuring my wife. They scheduled our move with no problems with a 48 hour warning. When it was clear that we could never pack everything in time, they sent out movers the next day to pack up our belongs. Two movers packed our four bedroom home in mere hours (I'm not sure of the exact time, but it was far faster than we'd been going).

When it was time to take our belongings to storage, one of the movers (Randy...Andy?) reiterated the storage process. All My Sons uses vaults in their facility, and we basically just had to watch them load the truck, then wave goodbye.

We moved into our new place a few days ago, and what we've unpacked is still in one piece. They use heavy quilts to wrap furniture, and everything came back looking like it should. The rest of our stuff will remain in their storage as we look for a new home, and I couldn't be happier about that. All My Sons really won my respect and trust. I hope others that have had a similar experience will come out and say so instead of dwelling in negativity. I know I'll post this review where ever I can.

damaged and missing items
If you like any of your belongings or ever want to see them again, the DO NOT use All My Sons moving and Storage. If only I had read the other reviews before using them. Whatever they say is false. They led us to believe that they were actually ok on the first move. Then our items went to storage - which must be a barnyard. Actually, that's an insult to barnyards, as I bet they are better kept than this place must have been. I can't think of one item that was not damaged. Some never even showed up! Then they told us they'd come out and bring some missing parts. They never did. Three items have been deemd totally unusable and all they are offering is $400.

We also reported them to the BBB.

I can only hope that somone treats their belongings so horribly the same way they did ours one day. Hopefully, what goes around comes around.

Terrible Service
Absolutely terrible service. This is the first and last time we will ever use this company. They charged additional fees that were not discussed before hand, i.e fuel surcharge and a fee to pay with my credit card. Do not use this company! They will try to turn a small move into an eight hour ordeal. Save yourself a lot of headache and go with another company.

Excessive charges & sloppy Work
We hired All My sons to move us about 15 miles to our new house. We hired three men and a truck. There were four men that showed up at our house and the "Supervisor" stated the company only sent three men but it was really a four man job and he had brought another friend along and wanted us to pay for it. We had practically boxed most of the items and all they had to do was break down the beds and some other small items. It took them 8 hours and 1 hour overtime to load and unload a 3 bedroom house. The "Supervisor" and his crew moved in slow motion and carried one item, mostly small pieces, one at a time into the house. When they finally finished and told us the charge was $1190.00 we were outraged. He also wanted us to pay additional money for the extra person he brought along which was only a ploy because the "Supervisor" did not do any work. He became extremely belligerent and called us names, telling my husband that he was less than a man.
