They have a 120 volt current carrying power cord duct taped to the floor to power a display near the customer service area.
As a former electrician I say with all certainty that this violates at least one section of the National Electrical Code... and is a very dangerous hazard for customers and employees alike as it is in an area of major traffic. People can trip on the cord and grocery carts roll across it.
I have mentioned it to employees and management but they will do nothing about it.
I have called the local Electrical Code enforcement office and they won't even check it out because it does not fit their daily routine.
I use a cane and am disabled due to an on-the-job accident some years back, and in addition to the above mentioned danger, there are ALWAYS slip hazards on the floor which, if I wasn't very observant, could cause me to fall.
The employees walk right past the slip hazards as does the management.
When I see a slip hazard, I pick it up because I know that accidents can be prevented.
They also have chicken warmers right next to the check-out areas which kids or adults can easily lean on or accidentally touch.
I accidentally leaned against one. They are VERY hot .
This particular Albertsons is a very dangerous store as safety concerns are on the bottom of anyone's priority list.
I hope you can help me prevent an accident here.
