On July 31st I entered into an agreement with NY Habitat for rental of an apartment at 340 W. 48th St. #3, NYC 10036 from October 11th through October 20th. We were told twice on the phone that we could go month to month and terminate services without a penalty. After a few months we terminated services and was told to pay a $295 fee or it would be sent to collection in four business days. I paid the fee. I asked them to review the tape of the conversation on the phone - they agreed to send me a transcript. They never listened and never sent me a transcript. Sloppy window installation. Glue particles left all over yard and on windows. Request to management to clean. Management said they were not window washers. Sliding glass door promised in 4 weeks took 8-10 weeks or more due to incorrect measurements then installed incorrect door. Nightmare! My husband and I opened a loan in 2005 with Option One Mortage Corporation. My husband passed away in August of 2007 and ever since then it has been a nightmare! Option One would call over 10- 20 times a day harrassing claiming that I had missed payments. I sent numerous times copies of all the payments I had ever made via fax and USPS. We have been trying to work with HSBC since April of this year to renegotiate our loan through the loss mitigation department and then through the organzation HOPE. They are the coldest company we have ever come in contact with. We are both on disability. We refinanced our home with CALUSA Investment who in turn sold the mortgage to HSBC. As so many others have written, Mediacom submitted a claim to CPA that I did not return a cable box and so owed money (more than $400.) Mediacom did this even though I returned the box to their local office and they recorded it in their system. So it's either a terrible record system or an attempt to harass me for having switched to DirecTV. This was in 2006. There is a consistent pattern of the price that is scanned at the register being higher than the posted price on the shelf. Another problem at this store is the attitude of most of the checkers. They are very rude and even insolent at times. Waiting on the customer seems to be a bother to most of them. I moved here in August, and it's October; We only enjoyed the apartment for about 1 week before more problems started day after day, week after week.
